      Maybe it’s exactly like Phil said and it’s still none of our damn business. I remember when Phil’s game was in a funk in ‘09 and the speculation was rampant. Turned out it was just a little thing like his wife and his mom battling cancer. Doesn’t really matter, they’ll fill in the blanks with any damn thing that amuses them.

But to Phil’s point Bones doesn’t didn’t need Phil anymore after his experience, he has built up, and I bet the commentating is a welcome change from caddying and still makes a pretty good living.

Phil probably thought this was a good opportunity to spend more time with his brother. So, mutually they agreed it was time to move on.

A caddy can make a good living for himself, especially on a golfer like Phil’s bag, but it is still only 10%. Maybe Phil understands that and is okay with it. If a player can let go of a putter that's won him tournaments and even Majors....he can part with a caddy too. Sometimes it's just time.

  • @robertleath9913

    They spent alot of time together and probably wanted to remain friends. Phil hasnt been winning and he knew Bones could make more money working for someone else. Phil will be winding his playing days down now.

  • @Siltz1962
    @Siltz1962 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bones got pissed he wasn't getting a check on a regular basis. He was probably losing money with expenses. Maybe Phil knew he was done and let him go to find another bag.

      Did any of you watch The Players? The body language between the two was not the same. It happens, people just get tired of one another. It's just like a marriage or when you're dating someone for a while. Don't any of you get tired of fucking your wife or gf? Don't you get sick of looking at her everyday and want something new?

    • @NativeSonDC
      @NativeSonDC 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      stackleft that's part of it for sure, probably 4 or 5 different things altogether. Missing the US Open was definitely part of it too. Bones couldn't have been happy to miss a major. Means likely slowdown for Phil's schedule, cutting into Bones' bottom line. Phil probably wants Bones to caddy for a full-time golfer. And he hasn't won a tourney in almost 4 years. Throw all that in a bag and you get a golfer-caddie divorce.

    You all want drama. I was married to my first wife for 25 years, it was awesome and one day we just kind of realised it wasn't for us and went our own ways.
    It just happens, Bones probably wants to bag for someone who is on the rise and get some more excitement out of helping someone develop to the top rather than just running the numbers.
