Love you guys, but the beginning shrug off of the price is odd because you guys panned Altra for asking for $190 for their Vanish Tempo. I mean obviously no one expected Tracksmith to make a budget product, but rather than say “it’s not that much!” I think just saying that it follows in like with the rest of Tracksmith’s product line in terms of quality and price would be more reasonable. Or maybe explain economies of scale as that is far more likely why it’s so expensive (see smaller brands like Craft, Brandblack, Speedland, etc).
A more lifestyle version of Saucony Freedom 4/5 with firmer PEBA foam. Really nice looking for causal and gym use but I think there are better running shoes at a lower price point.
I’m wondering if a brands like track smith are considering having that thick replacement insole easily for sale on their website ? Could justify a higher price tag because for me if easy to replace the cushion and the shoe designed that way? the cushion goes out on shoes before the upper or outsole most of the time for me . Likely more environmentally friendly to just replace an insert rather than entire shoe also ..
Personally if it is for lifestyle and running, the price could be a bit lower (175-180) . For strictly running , there are other better options (from the initial review) . My question is... "Where is it made"?, and " What special material was used (that other brands do not use) to make it a "Premium" runner?
It is for sure an interesting shoe - certainly in line with that old school vibe they have - its pretty high for a daily trainer IMO, price is fine for a racer or something with a plate but even that you can get others. That being said the reviews have been pretty good so far and would certainly consider trying it (but a bunch of others I want to go for first) Is that the Grit top Thomas?
Yeah, people will only buy this for the looks. You are paying for the tracksmith name basically. Better cheaper alternatives out there. Just get the Speed, Mach 5, Novablast, etc.
looks like a tennis shoe or a "running culture" casual shoe. Usually you guys are discussing technical details like cushion/foam, drop, etc. was a bit sad to see most of the time spent discussing this talking about things like embroidery and writing on an insole discussing the spirituality of the shoe. the shoe is priced high, as track smith always is, so it feels a bit biased that you guys say it's fine but hose other brands for similar price tags...running shoes have trended towards the ~$200 mark now and whether or not that's just the new norm/inflation, etc. it still feels pricey given most of us have been running long enough to remember the $120 shoe being high end and plenty of options at $100 or less. also, usually first models have the most room for improvement. i look forward to seeing if you guys can identify some of those in an unbiased and full review. i will also admittedly work on leaving my bias against track smith out of my headspace when viewing the review!
How would you say this shoe compares to the Endorphin speed 3? I have been using it for the past year and I'm more a saucony follower but wouldn't mind trying these. I have tried peg 39s and they personally didn't work for my foot and want something that feels fast and comfortable.
I don’t understand the pre-order because mine come tomorrow, and I bought them like a week ago when they went back on sale. I feel like you should have yours first/already.
I get the sense that this company is spending a ton of money getting influencers to perpetuate this image that it’s a premium/unique shoe experience. I wish I had a following so I could cash in.
$200 for a daily trainer with no plate or nothing is absurd. Especially in a world where the Novablast exists at its price. This just looks like a snobby person shoe.
I think these would look good with your yacht in Monaco rocking an all white get up and stepping out for a gentle trot around the harbour #fresh
🤣 Still waiting for an invite onto your Yacht Fordy
The shoe is clean AF. Too clean to run in 🔥😎🔥
I'm not sure I feel that Peg Turbo reference, but I definitely feel like there's a similarity to the Speedland

Since it's a first thoughts, we don't go into it much, but we'll talk about it in the full review for sure (i.e. economies of scale).
This shoe should sit at 150, but like you said usually with newer or smaller brands you get wild prices.
Over the shoulder impressed. No hurt ankles this year Robbie.
The streakfly has a pebax insole
“Catchin’ every shoe that’s out there.”
YEAH you are! 👟 🙌

I’ve been seeing these on the website and I wanted to see the review
I get the hate for the price tag, longevity wise, I don't think it's worth the money for a shoe that's cushion may not hold up over 200 miles.
Dang where did you see that mileage estimate?
PEBA(X) foams typically have great durability, why do you think it won’t hold up for over 200 miles?
The outsole rubber is pretty tough. I see no reason I couldn’t get at least 500 miles out of this shoe
@@aarondavidson907 that’s what I was thinking
Pebax last way longer these days. Check out Burns et al. work.
I believe the endorphin pro 3 has a pebax insole

First Impression is about a "cool good looking shoe" that I'd wear for a casual fashion statement, but sadly the price tag is a turn off for me
Doesn't Atreyu also have a pebax insole?
And Zoom Fly 5, Tempo Next%, Alpha next nature etc. Lot's of shoes
Did Jarrett retire? Endorphin Speed 3 Wide is available, and I would love to see a review...........
I wear a 10 I ordered a 10 …. Hoping it fits. Guess we’ll have to wait till they ship end of month. 4:51

Love that anorak, Thomas!!!! 🔥🔥

Even those plated shoes are on sale and below this price.
Nice looking shoe; although it looks more like a tennis shoe rather than a running shoe IMHO. Not crazy about the 9 mm heel drop.
Do you know who actually manufactured this shoe for Tracksmith? They didn't buy themselves a shoe factory just for this shoe did they?
Yeah, people will only buy this for the looks. You are paying for the tracksmith name basically. Better cheaper alternatives out there. Just get the Speed, Mach 5, Novablast, etc.
How is the fit in the toebox? Okay for wider feet or narrow like nike;)?

The firmness of this shoe PEBA foam is similar to PEBA (PWRRUN PB) in Saucony Freedom. Endorphin Speed has a softer PEBA foam.
What's the heel drop?
Patiently waiting for my preorder to arrive….
I don’t understand the pre-order because mine come tomorrow, and I bought them like a week ago when they went back on sale. I feel like you should have yours first/already.
so is it a running shoe or a life style shoe ?
Wait it’s only $198? I was expecting $250+ coming from Tracksmith
bought these as a casual sneaker, basically a Veja replacement... they are just toooo clean to run in lol
Love the reviews guys. Question; I wear a 10 in most running shoes. Should I order a 9.5 in this shoe? Thanks
It is in the middle for us. So it just depends on what type of fit you want.
Thanks
Hey Robbe, thought Nike came out with the Peg Turbo Nature, they didn't stop making them.
They did, sadly it’s just not quite the same as the old turbos 🥲
Not the same shoe in any way
Lmao y’all defending the price because your partners with Tracksmith. 200 is absurd for a daily trainer.
honestly I'd buy it just for the looks. That is IF I have 200$ lying around with nothing better to do 🤣
Anyway, it seems like a solid daily trainer.
Beautiful shoes for not running.
Robbie's uneven hoodie strings is making my OCD ping!
tracksmith flip that white and navy blue.., that’s a win
I get the sense that this company is spending a ton of money getting influencers to perpetuate this image that it’s a premium/unique shoe experience. I wish I had a following so I could cash in.
Your spidey sense is faulty... wish we got $ from them, let us know if you figure out how
Maybe you'll see me running in these at Cherry Blossom this year, Thomas.
$200 for a daily trainer with no plate or nothing is absurd. Especially in a world where the Novablast exists at its price. This just looks like a snobby person shoe.
These looks exactly like a Pegasus 36, at least on paper. I understand tracksmith is expensive and over priced but 200 dollars is too expensive.
This is at best a $150 shoe. BITR is supposed to be in favor of the people not the corporates
Never heard of tracksmith. Might be long way to go in competition
When you justify the price please always tell us where it was produced and how much money these people make.
Like for Robbe and Thomas. Run and clean... is very important........A nice day for everyone.
Mr robot elliot
the 60's retro look is very refreshing in this era of flashy shoes with giant logos.
Tracksmith 2023 = Abercrombie 1998
Nice looking, but $198 for a normal training shoe. OUCH!!!
But it's tracksmith.
