    You can export DForce simulation by exporting an OBJ and MDD Cache out of DAZ, apply the MDD Cache inside Blender as a mesh deformer and then export as Alembic. Been using that as my workflow to export DAZ animations into C4D without any mesh quality loss. Sure, depending on your clothing, hair, animation length the alembic can get big but sometimes it really is worth it.
    Cool showcase though, works incredibly well!
    I just wish DAZ had a nicer animation workflow in general.

      True, but dont you need the paid Animate2 plugin in order to export an MDD Cache?

    You can also reduce the meshes from Daz by resetting them to "base mesh" before exporting.

    Do you have a daz workflow for octane as well? Or is the process roughly the same. I'm a bit new to this.

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  ปีที่แล้ว

      The workflow is very similar to be honest, Redshift and Octane are very alike. The course is suitible for each renderer, but we specifically use Redshift in the example

    Amazing tutorial my friend, was looking for this for a long time, learned a lot from it!
    Question, is there a way to simulate forces on a Daz hair in cinema 4D?

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Valhalla. I think with hair you might need to use dForce hair for the splines (or make splines from geometry hair) then make c4d hair from that which you can sim. Might be something we cover next in the course;)

    Great Tutorial! Can you do a tutorial on how to simulate a realistic thin rubber/cloth glove? I have been trying this recently but cannot seem to get a good result. I would very much appreciate it!

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Neytey, you'd basically do the same thing with a rubber glove, just have the dynamics effect the end part of the gloves, thats really the only bit that would move around, then keep the hand part stuck to the characters hand

    • @neytey
      @neytey ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CGShortcuts Oh I havent thought about that, in my case I always simulated the whole glove without any belts and I think this led to the whole glove beeing too stretchy and so becoming very loose on the finger tips. Thank you very much for the tip, I'll definetly try it!

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Giovanni, this course is with Redshift which is quickly becoming the most widely used C4D renderer, however the concepts in the lighting and rendering section can be applied to any renderer - the course is mostly about Daz and the integration between Daz Studio and Cinema 4D;)

    Hi, how are you? I hope you're fine. I'd like to. I'm making a house and I want to export it to daz, but I made the house in C4D and install everything from the daz bridge to c4d, but now I want to transfer it to daz3d, and we'll know how Could you help me, or give me some advice on how it could be done, unfortunately I have searched a lot on different pages and none of them specializes in C4D, always in other 3d modeling platforms, but in c4d it is not very common to find information, I would really appreciate it, thanks

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very well thanks. To be honest I've only ever gone the other way, Daz to C4D because I'd rather render in Cinema, all our training is Daz to C4D workflow, Im pretty sure you could just import an OBJ in Daz though

    Thank you for the very good teaching
    I have a question?
    I am using Cinema version 2023 2.1, but I don't have the cloth pbd tag
    Is it because I didn't export my model from Daz?

    • @CGShortcuts

      seems there's only a unified CLOTH tag now, you can just use that, same thing
