During my sophomore year (2nd year) at university, my parents sent me a picture with the caption "Look at Dad's new office". It was my bedroom, with everything I owned moved out, Dad's office stuff moved in, and then repainted. I guess my parents knew I wasn't going to go back to live with them ever... which was true but still that was a savage move

We once held a 90’s themed party at my uni. Everyone was dressing up in 90’s fashion trends, i mean the frosted blue eyeshadow and everything. EXCEPT random suit guy, who dressed up as Harry Potter (still in a suit), because it is set in the 90’s

When I found out Americans don't have kettles I proceeded to ask everyone I knew if they knew that Americans didn't have kettles I was so in shock (Australian btw) like imagine having to wait for water to boil in a pot every time????

I was one of those people who ignored everyone's advice and started dating one of my flatmates during second year of uni. It should have backfired so badly on us, but we're still together 3 years later. Still pretty solid advice though 😂

Most awkward lecture for me was once when I was late and took a seat in the back hoping no one would notice me I got settled and realized that the guy sitting one row ahead of me was watching porn on his laptop.
Accommodation is seriously important. Ask other students about their experiences etc. as they can help you avoid the really nasty places/landlords. I know from experience that there are some real nasty people out there. A bad place can really mess you up emotionally and physically so take your time, as well as some advice from the old Knight dude at the end of Last Crusade... Choose Wisely!

I started college after corona so watching this is just making me depressed. My first year is over and there is no end line in sight for my country. I started joking about how I'm going to graduate without ever stepping foot in my college but I don't think it's a joke anymore.

Most people in Australia don’t stay at uni unless they go interstate. They usually live at home. I just went to and from class and the library obsessed with getting good grades and also had undiagnosed Asperger’s syndrome the entire time and wondered why I couldn’t really make friends. Needless to say, my uni years were incredibly lonely. I didn’t have the funny happy memories you see in the second last TikTok. I’m much happier being a working woman.
I feel you. I have Asperger's syndrome too so I spend my entire time studying and being on TH-cam instead of with people. I'm also still in school so I don't know if I will be happier working yet. I'm really happy that you're happier now though 😊

Most of the “suit guys” that I saw in my Uni were all Business school kids who just wanted to look professional at all times.

I keep forgetting how late UK freshers week is! We've been plunged into lectures two weeks ago so freshers week was three weeks ago. I'm a third year now but I've had to organise some of the events and damn was it depressing, like so few things were offline. The online things were fairly fun but its just not the same 😔

Peter Whitlock just look up review on like trustpilot or anything like that and you’ll get the gist. Obviously can vary depending on what accommodation but I personally have only known people to have an overpriced but mediocre experience or an awful experience with bad communication issues and lack of any kind of support and issues with plumbing, damp, mould etc that we’re never fixed
student roost ain't great either. that's my accommodation at the moment and the hob doesn't even work.
Yeah they’re awful they currently have a 1.5 rating from hundreds of reviews on trustpilot

Started uni during 2020. First year, 10 weeks in total on campus with the rest online. Second year, all on campus (before the travel strikes). Third year, might be the most normal year I’ve had (minus the one day there was strikes - improvement to 2nd year)

live in Unite Students when i was studying in London. My building was really REALLY nice . Even tho other ones where kind of small. Well mine was tiny as well but it was modern and really comfortable

I feel like Unite really varies depending on the city, I'm in an Aberdeen one and honestly it needs some work and is nothing like Jack's. Then again, I'm in the cheapest unite Aberdeen accomodation, others look much better but they're just not affordable for me 😊

In regards to the sharing a house with someone you’re dating - 2 people from my first year halls got together, shared a house with 3 other people and are still together now 3 years on! But yes have heard stories about people who it hasn’t worked out with 😂
I was going to move in with 3 people in Sept 1st Year, but two now decided to move elsewhere - I later found out that they are in a relationship. I was very pleased to be now meeting people possibly not in a relationship just because it's easier to get to know people without being awkward.

i stay up until 3.30am because i thought it was thursday, and i didnt have school the next day. The LITERAL second i got in bed i realised it was wednesday and i do in fact have school in the morning.
but at least in started at 11am, i still managed to log in 10 minutes late tho
I didn't take any photos or videos of my time at university, but that's fine because I didn't do anything except ace all my courses.
