Fight against Mario, Luigi, Boo, Sonic, Tails, Waluigi, Bob-omb, Cheep Cheep, Bullet Bill, Portal M4R10, Wrecking Crew Mario, and even King Bowser himself just to rescue Girlfriend. Princess Toadstool from King Koopa. This mod is way too high quality like it has a bunch of levels, references, animations, and even got a moving mechanics for bf in the Boo stage
, you must dodge King Boo's attack which is the first time a mod has ever done such a thing. Most of these levels are based on the Super Mario Bros. Deluxe 1999 + other Mario games.

I absolutely ADORE the fact that this mod kept in the fact that Bowser doesn't actually have wrist bands in Super Mario Bros, but instead utilizes the black background. It's such a nice touch, and really goes to show how much effort was put in this mod to stay true to the original game!

for those who don't know, the opponent in wrong warp is based on a glitch in smb1 where you could be small fire mario. him turning big in his poses is directly based on the same thing happening when throwing a fireball as small fire mario, which happens there because there is no sprite for small mario throwing a fireball
also the opponent in first level is called weird mario, for obvious reasons

So in the original NES game they couldn't have 3 colors on the sprite so instead of his bracers being black they were simply transparent along the black background of the castle stage
And they kept that in these custom sprites too!

I adore how Bullet Time forgoes the 8-bit retro style for the more modern style that the Bullet Bill flash games use for most of the song , while still having the opening and ending keep that 8-bit style like the rest of the mod. Then you have Destruction Dance which I love how there's the switch up where Foreman Spike dies to the bomb next to him only to get replaced by freaking WALUIGI since its the DDR Mario Mix version.

I really wanna know how they made the sprites for Green Screen! Not only did they nail the video quality that the gameboy camera had but also made both BF and the creepy face guy look 3D. This mod is incredible!

Can we just talk about how the bonus songs are some pretty deep cuts? Like, Destruction Dance is a reference to Wrecking Crew and that DDR Mario game, Portal Power is a reference to Mari0, a literal Mario x Portal fangame, Wrong Warp is a reference to the Minus World glitch, and Green Screen is a reference to the Gameboy Camera, which was a damn accessory for the Gameboy. Dude, the fact that this mod and the creators included as many references as humanly possible is just incredible to me, well done!

Now THIS is quality! Every single bit of this mod is out right perfection. Each of the new songs are fantastic with some being bangers outright. The secrets are amazing touches also. Not to mention the Konami cheat code, mechanics, references to old games, flash games and the cutscenes!

This update made the mod even better than before! The soundtrack is great (I like how groovy it is), all of the characters' vocals are surprisingly good, the little cutscenes of BF and the Bros' adventures are really adorable, the secrets and references, etc. There is just so much very cool contents in this mod that I wouldn't mind another, if not one last, update to see what other things this mod could offer. Also, that whole console war song and how Foreman Spike was one of the opponents only for his spotlight to be taken away by Waluigi were just awesome!

This mod is so bewildering, it's just so good! You can tell the mod-makers are actually committed to their work as a modder! The work they put into this is insane, there is so much to do in the mod! I gotta say, this is one of the greatest mods out there. If I had to give a rating, I'd give it an 8.7/10. (9 would be like: "This shit is so fckn good I can't stop playing it if I do I'll go insane!".)

I like that they made Bowser more draconic in appearance. It suits him so much better. His down pose really reminds me of the Spinys, too. It connects his relation to joys troops

My goodness, this update is incredible! Not only is there a full story, but a bunch of extra songs that are love letters to a bunch of SMB1-related Media! Like, I wasn't expecting the Bullet Bill fangame of all things to see the light of day!

I love the little reference to Portal’s ending music in Portal Power and the “First Level :)” joke is hilarious
it's so cool how depending on if you're not doing too well it changes your sprites to lose the current powerup.

I love the part where while Luigi and tails sing, Sonic and Mario are just aggressively staring at eachother
I cannot express how much I love this mod! Every song is a banger, the sprites look outstanding, and even stuff like flash games, glitches, and the console wars were all incorporated. Secrets used to unlock songs instead of codes, extra game mechanics, and more! Might as well rant about EVERY song!
Mushroom Plains: A fairly normal sounding song. It’s about what you’d expect from a Mario mod, having that bouncy pace while still having that Funky feel. I also love how sometimes enemies just fall down the cliff. Classic. 9/10
Bricks and Lifts: I never thought the underground could be mixed into such a banger. This was the first song I heard for this mod, and it told me what ride I was going to have! It stays true to the original song without sounding off! 9.4/10
Lethal Lava Liar: The beginning really shows you the battle that’s about to go down! I also love the progression Mario goes through throughout this week. First he’s small, then super, then going out to spit fire as well as throw it! The charting fits Mario for all songs, but this one more in particular. It’s just perfect for him. And the classic “Your princess is in another castle”! How infamous. 9.5/10
Deep Deep Voyage: I always love when FNF scenery is different from just standing around, and chases are always the best. Water tracks in Mario always had that pure and beautiful tone to them, and this mod keeps that tone while still sounding frantic. Also starting with this song, poison mushrooms appear on the chart, referencing the Lost Levels, which I absolutely love! Poor Luigi. 9.8/10
Hop Hop Heights: A strange combatant for a mod all about the original SMB, but a welcome one nonetheless. It really gives me Bob-Omb Battlefield vibes with the vocals and sound. I also love how the Bob-Omb starts to ignite when angered, though that also makes it sad to see it short lived. 9/10
Koopa Armada: A very intense song compared to everything else in this mod. And I think it has the right to be from facing the main baddy of the series. It keeps you on your toes and helps to establish a real battle. I also love how Bowser’s holding a staff, which probably references the main plot of the story where he turned the Toads into bricks with it. I also like how BF, despite being the main guy, doesn’t stop Bowser, but just stalls him. I just think It’s better from a storytelling standpoint. The ending is also a PERFECT transition into the freeplay songs. 9.5/10
2 Player Game: Speaking of freeplay, this is where some of the best FNF songs ever are coming from! And Luigi’s is no exception. Definitely the best of the original version! It just sounds like their there to have fun. 9.8/10
Destruction Dance: Wrecking Crew a strange thing to make a mod for, but what it lacks in popularity, makes up for with a sick chill sound, great charting, and Waluigi! Which was COMPLETELY unnecessary to add to a song about Wrecking Crew, but you can’t really argue with the purple man. 9.4/10
Portal Power: Now we get into the songs that aren’t really related to SMB, but are still amazing! A mod about a popular flash game brings its light to FNF with a techno and scientific tone, Portal mechanics, and even custom BF vocals that I think fit the Sci-Fi theme. 9.6/10
Bullet Time: Once again, a popular flash game shows its head in FNF, and this time, it’s a Bullet Bill bringing a fast paced, rock type song that keeps your heart racing! (Pun intended) I also appreciate how hard this song is compared to others without feeling excessive, e special since the original game is pretty difficult from what I recall. I also love how the cloud sings with BF. 9.9/10
Boo Blitz: Not sure whether this is just something generic, or specifically based on the Big Boo from Mario World. While this one doesn’t have much in terms of fan service, it makes up in terms of detail, gameplay, and sound. It gives off a ghostly feel while staying consistent with the rest of the songs. The extra flame mechanic is also a really creative mechanic. I also love how the Boo covers it’s face when it’s BF’s turn. 9.5/10
Cross Console Clash: Ah the console wars. A time where people were arguing over a plumber and a hedgehog. Without a doubt one of my favorites in this mod! The sprite clashes are amazing and smooth! The song this time isn’t just a battle; it’s a SHOWDOWN! I love how Luigi and Tails jump in to win their franchises over. I also love how the background isn’t just their respective backgrounds, but each other’s in opposite styles! The fact Mario and Sonic’s partners sing with them on certain occasions really shows their dedication! I also adore Sonic’s sprites here. 10/10
Wrong Warp: I love how the minus world was represented here! Everything’s in digital chaos, and the sprites and song show it! The song really shows how downhill everything’s gotten! I also love how Mario just changes sizes during his poses, referencing the Small Fire Mario glitch. It’s also great that they didn’t just base it off the American endless 7-2 minus world. 9.8/10
First Level :): Super Mario Maker baby! Personally, this song just speaks creative chaos, which perfectly represents Mario Maker. Everything in this level visually is fan service. The little “bah’s”, Weird Mario, the drop shadows, the brighter hue of it all, and the jumbled mess of a stage, which is obviously making fun of how most Mario Maker levels are just scrambled messes made in 2 minutes! 9.8/10
Green Screen: I have NO clue what this is based on, but I don’t care! The visual appeal of this song already makes it outstanding! They some how mixed gameboy graphics, live action, and 3D into one song, and it somehow fits! The song feels very mysterious, which I think fits considering the internal mystery of how this is related to anything else in this mod. AND you unlock it with the Konami code! 9.9/10
Balls: Ok. This is obviously meant to be a joke, but it’s still great. No need to explain it.
I haven’t talked about the universal stuff, like the use of SMB(or Sonic 1) sounds effects for the beat, the warp zone settings, or how missing notes downgrades your status! (Fire -> Super -> Small) There was so much love and care put into this mod, and it’s amazing to see everything to be put out by not only this but the community as a whole! If I ever play an FNF mod, this is the first one I’m picking up. This truly is super!
Also the Toad turned bricks are the one that give powerups not the one that are easily destroyed by mario

Really cool to just slip that reference in during the song
And at 10:03, If you listen closely, it sounds just like Mushroom plains, but kind of like a remix
its crazy how good you can make animations when the sprites are so simple
The description says that the Boo mechanics of being able to move during the song is the first of its kind. Which is kinda true.
I saw a video of a Tricky mod where you had to dodge Tricky's spikes while singing the song. The mod wasn't actually released, so I guess the Boo mechanics are technically the first to be done.
Definitely not the first to be done, I'm sure there are others, but first that comes to mind is the Beautiful Day by Sr. Perez

Cross console clash brings back all the old Mario vs Sonic memories. There where so many animations with Mario vs Sonic! The best one was by Scoutthedog. He did a really good job. Just like the creator of this mod. Definetly one of my favourites!
