On a CR diesel solenoid injector both injector wires go to the ecm and the ecm reverses the polarity to the injector to pull the solinoid shut with no needle bounce. Allows for very accurate fueling.
Some cars cut injector pulse to let the car idle down. If it's the same on every cylinder and the car isnt running like complete crap it's more than likely normal

Since my vehicle is an '87, it has no OBD port, so I keep the Power Probe on all the time with a dashcam pointed at it so if the engine malfunctions, I can play back the video to see what happened at the moment of failure. And when the vehicle stalled on the highway when I had to suddenly take my foot off the gas, I saw that the ECU didn't power down the injectors, so the engine flooded and stalled. (I replaced the ECU with my spare, and was back on the road!)

Great tool but i can see power probe will only answer certain questions , if its a question about can the power probe do this or that , they dont answer , if its about buying accessories they answeer straight away

It has caused me to mis-diagnose certain faults concerning the ground or neutral test. I sent them emails at their site but no response.

Good clear explanation. I have just bought one but it hasn't got the red changeable wire as seen on the video to plug in the back of the injector.

No, the injector test in the Maestro/PP4 is for traditional gas injectors used over the last 30 years.

Why does the fuel injector mode go blank momentarily (no readings) when the RPM drops from 2200 RPM to idle?
Check this with another vehicle, this sounds like a vehicle problem not a tool issue.
