I'm an HVAC guy,I feel like making a sheet metal cover for my k&n filter so it only gets cold air from outside or does it matter..more hot air vs less air that's cold.
Best to supply the engine with cool fresh air instead of hot humid air from under the hood. Those filters are used on heavy equipment but sit inside a box or cover that pulls air from outside the engine compartment.
The air still comes in from.outside you dont take off the tiny little factory air inlet thats blocked off for the most part unless yoy do the ZooDad mod, its okay the engine bay is not air tight it will pull warm air in but so does the stock the airbox already has holes to help "lower temps" on the engine
The part of the intake box where the intake tube rests on, I cut it completely off all the way to the fender so the intake is pretty much resting on the wheel well cover. It hit me after, do you think if it's raining water can be sucked into the intake?
The 2 rectangle plastic boxes between the air box you took out and the fire wall has some relays in them can you tell me what they are for I have them too but don’t know what they are for
Forgot to say I love what your doing, I have a hydra, filter like this, and turbo back, installing a stage 2 tranny at the moment then going for a new turbo/injector setup
@@Jimmyziggy I love that noise also but if it’s turbo surge the life span of the turbo will be a lot shorter might need to get a kc300 or sum type that doesn’t need a electric waste gate it does it’s own.
@@ThePastureGarage Yea i don’t think it’s like that surge where it’s under a load. It’s when i let it off so i’ve heard that’s normal. But eventually i plan to get a kc300🤙🏼

When it time 2 swap that filter go with the afe dry reusable version world of different on my obs
would you recommend this for my 1995 obs? obo?
Do you have turbo surge, or is it just from letting off, I can’t really tell 😂

Your truck confuses the s**t out of me... it has a 7.3 in it but looks like a 2008 body and emblems with like a 2011 dash/side mirrors.
