Col. with all do respect I think the 173rd Airborne Brigade had a combat jump in November 1967 not February. I was assigned to the 2nd Battalion Bravo. Co. I was there for two tours. I salute you sir for all the good work you do.

Yes, that is coming but a big project and I am trying to figure out how to organize it so it does not go 30 minutes.

Thanks you for this information, very easy to understand.
But the soldiers of The Rock didn't wear the 503rd PIR oval patch (airborne trimming) behind jump badge in class A or class B uniform?

I have a question not related this video. My grandfather was a tec 4 with the 24th infantry division. Can you direct me towards a video explaining what badges and insignia he could possibly have worn? I do know he earned the CIB. I know he was a combat engineer. Any help at all would be appreciated. I'm sorry I didn't have more information to go on.

Thank you sir. I'm having a hard time finding much out. Could I be able to request his service record if I have his SSN? Grandpa passed in '91 and he would never speak of his wartime experiences much. I know he was in the Philippines and possibly Okinawa.

I don't think many paratroopers in the herd earned the good conduct medal. There is some bogus requirement that you have to be good. I was in the 335th AHC when it ws still part of the 173rd. The 1st mission I went on was a raid on the Tuy Hoa air force base warehouse. We used to steal everything we could get our hands on. We had 3 to 4 times the vehicles we were authorised to have. All the other unit EMclubs had signs that said 335TH AHC & 173RD ABN keep out. We had a bad habit of starting fights in the clubs. Guys use to drive around the Phu Hiep base liquored up, singing dirty songs andtossing CS grenades. The herd was a major pain in the ass in the rear areas.
