That was fun to watch. My mom and I went years ago in Ft Lauderdale in person to have our colors done from Color Me Beautiful. It was a great experience. It made so much sense to me after having my colors done that I was a warm spring. I have a fabric swatch card with all my samples of real fabrics in it.
I loved seeing you having your colours done in person. I had it done last month by a House of Colour stylist and it really was an eye opener. I am a Vibrant Autumn and I have since made a few items in my colour palette and I feel so much better wearing my warm and bright colours as opposed to the cool colours I was wearing with my grey hair. I'm looking forward to seeing how you will incorporate the new palette into your existing wardrobe. Loved the video!❤
Once again Whitney you have provided us with a very interesting and informative video. I was shocked that often I was able to see the color change your facial coloring. I had been wondering how a virtual color analysis could be effective. What this video showed is that while an in person color analysis is best a virtual color analysis can be very effective. Thank you for providing this video and thank you to Stephanie for providing her charm and expertise. Thank you to Jenny as well!
I had my colours done in the 80's, it was so worth it. It has saved me time and money over the years. When shopping I head straight to my colours and just bypass the rest of the clothing. I never have clothing in my wardrobe that doesn't suit me or that makes me look washed out. Everything always goes together. The past year I've even started making my own clothes because it saves me having to search for a particular item in a colour or fit that I want. Having your colours done is really worth it and helps when selecting make up as well.
I am enjoying the Style with Stephanie segments very much and it was so interesting to watch the color analysis being performed on you! I’ve worked off my 3-year-old Color Guru virtual analysis card and it has been a game changer for my closet and my wallet! It has also made creating my seasonal capsules a snap! The Color Guru took me from what I thought I was (Cool Winter) to a Calm Summer and suddenly everything made sense! Some of my loved pieces were missing the mark and I never wore them - it was the color, not the fit! Having a soft, muted palette has made all the difference in the world for both fabric shopping and ready-to-wear shopping! This was a great, in-depth episode - very informative and well produced. ❤
I really enjoy the variety that you have on your channel! And the color analysis is so much fun! I had my colors done about a year ago by Color Guru, and I'm a moonlit summer.
Very nice. I had my colors done in the mid to early 1980s in Florida as I am a Florida girl. I was always a true blond with true hazel eyes. Now I am silver gray blond (a.k.a. Antique blond) and believe it or not I can still wear most of the same colors. I say most because some I just did not like. I am a Spring and I still have my colors in my pouch. They are fabric and do not get exposed to sunlight. My colors were done by Custom Color by Rachael. Yep, the best way is the draping of the color fabric. It is interesting. I do wear basic black and white for events where I want to be acceptable but not over/under dressed. I adore Navy. Red is my favorite color but not next to my face. And everyone can wear turquoise. Love your colors Whitney!
I highly recommend color analysis. I work with two color pallets depending upon the actual season of the year. I sat for Color One analysis at age 30--of which is very similar to Ms Grabow's method (my results: warm light summer (summertime) and warm medium fall (Fall and Winter); and I also analyzed my 'Type' personality in Carol Tuttle's Dress Your Truth (my results: Primary Type 3 with Secondary Type 2). Difference in the two: Tuttle also discusses movement/personality traits. The whole point, in my view, is to stop making mistakes which cause me to waste money. Certainly, I feel more confident as well. I am obsessed with the study of color and shadows and thoroughly enjoyed Whitney's experience and discussion. Are we so lucky to feel connected!?! Awesome!
Whitney this was fascinating. I had my colours done years ago but have to admit I couldn’t really see what she was talking about 😮. Funnily enough I follow her advice to the letter though, even 20 years later. I still have my colour swatch card and always use it when I’m fabric shopping. I’ve just decided I’m not good at seeing undertones etc so I’m better to trust the expert 😂 You GLOWED when you had all those scarves about you after the consultation 🎉
I had my colours done years ago but let black slink its way back in over the decades. Last year I started being much more mindful about the fabrics I bought and have been getting rid of things in my stash that just don’t work. Someone told me years ago that the things in my closet that I put on and then take off are either the wrong colour or style. We just don’t feel right when we wear those things and that’s been true in my case. All those black and brown garments never made it out the door. 😆
That was quite interesting and fun to watch. I’ve read the book color me beautiful. I need to review it and make my color card. I like pink but it said pink was not good on me. Neither was black or navy blue. Brown is my black.
Really interesting . . . Did she give you any advise about hair color and/or makeup (especially lipstick & eye shadows, etc.)? I know that one of the people you had do your colors before talked about that but I think there would be better clarity with an in-person analysis. Thanks for doing this!! 🧐🤔🤓☺💖
That was Fascinating!!! I wonder if colors change Before Child Birth and After Child Birth? She was very good. I think if someone was going to an important event, colors would be a good idea for choosing your outfit!!! Thank you for taking us along!!!
Great question! If your colors are properly analyzed and the analyst focuses on your undertones, your color season will not change. It is true that you skin can change after childbirth due to hormone changes, but those changes are in your overtones, not your undertones. So, good color analysis is a one-and-done investment!
You state that Stephanie typed you as "Light Summer" - but all the colours you were wearing after the "reveal" were warm colours, meaning "Spring", not Summer. Summer colours are cool and often slightly muted. There is only one Summer colour with a hint of warm, and that's Watermelon Red - but not the warm Salmon you were wearing. You look so gorgeous in the warm, clear Spring colours, and I personally feel they look better on you than the darker, muted Autumn colours. If you ask why I am so certain about the Summer colours - I had a colour analysis back in 1986 and found I was a Summer - so I have almost 40 years of experience with the colours that look best on a Summer. Whitney, you are not a Summer.
I found that interesting too but the colors on my card overlap with the colors Stephanie recommended so I'm not so hung up on the classification if the colors are the same!
Light Summer has a hint of warmth and sits next to Light Spring on the color analysis wheel. It sits on the side of the wheel that's more light and bright than muted. Soft summer sits on the opposite side and is definitely more cool and muted. Color analysis has really evolved in the last 40 years as we've learned more about color science and color theory. It's wonderful that you've found your analysis helpful to you!

I'm glad you enjoyed and also that you are leaning into your color pallette!

Thank YOU for all the kind words.

That is a wonderful testimonial! I'm also so glad that you are jumping into garment making!!
Too bad the fashion was such a train wreck back then. 😅
That was great. I have to agree with the new colors for your greens and neutrals. I think is so YOU and so Stunning!
Aww Thank you!!

I'm so glad to hear this! It is true that it makes shopping and getting dressed so easy!
Thanks for taking us along for your color analysis. It sure is fascinating!😃
Your colors are beautiful!
Glad you enjoyed!

Your color results suit you beautifully!!! I love the color fan and imagine it will be really helpful!
It's a wonderful tool!

It's so interesting how they stay the same all the way through!

Whitney, just curious can you wear black? Or is Navy your Dark?
Sounds like you have cracked the color code!
I tend to go toward browns and navy
That was really interesting. To watch your face change. Thanks for taking us along on the journey.
I thought it was pretty interesting as well!
This was a great demonstration of color analysis!
Thank you!!
That was great! Thanks for sharing it.
❤️❤️❤️

She did glow!! I agree!
That was very, very interesting!!!

That's some really good advice to really curate your closet and only keep the stuff you really wear!
Totally great to see this on video, you lit up with your colors❤
Thank you!
I dont have your coloring but we have the same color palette for the most part.
❤️❤️❤️
I really like the colors she chose for you.
As do I!

We chatted a little on make up, but mostly focused on the draping.
Oh wow!! How fascinating! I would love to have that done in person. Does she have any recommendations for finding local people that do color analysis?
That's a great question! I'll be sure to ask in our next Q & A

I'm wondering if copper spring and warm/light summer are sister seasons and that's why they overlap and both work for you?
The colors overlap so maybe that is true!

Hi Ginny. What are you doing on screen?
She was my "tech crew" 🤣🤣

Perhaps you used a different company? They all use exclusive names that don’t mean all that much.
I found that interesting too but the colors on my card overlap with the colors Stephanie recommended so I'm not so hung up on the classification if the colors are the same!
