Pauna was the second highest peak in Nagaland i am sorry about that i didnt think or research much beacuse i was more into exploring the hidded magical forest of Mt .pauna sorry for saying Rib as well although i know that it was Indian reserve battalion it was mistake on my part . thanks to all those who corrected me . It was such a wonderful experience visiting Mt .pauna although the climbing was tough but it's worth it.

There is abundance of fauna in the peak and thus the range. You will find here, the State Bird of Nagaland, Blythe Tragopan in good numbers which is considered an endangered species of the world. Deers, reindeers, wild goats and many others roam about the reserved forest. Large species of birds too are lot more comparatively. Hunting is completely banned here and within Benreu's jurisdictions. However, the sad fact is, neighbouring villages surrounding the range beyond Benreu's jurisdiction were almost exploited though.

Those stone gate at the sides you see is where the people anounces and alert people when their is an attack from the neighbouring villages . And also the marks in the stones is where the king jumps from the sides . And touches . Hope your aware of those things
That wild flower is called Rhododendron. The best season to visit is during the autumn and winter. You will have the most ecstatic views during those seasons. During a clear sky dawn one can enjoy view of Dimapur valleys, Manipur ranges, Peren District valleys and hills, Dzuku ranges and even of Mt. Japfu.
