I learned to point away from crowds after getting much brighter tri led fixtures. They were so bright that I was getting complaints from people at the rear of venues. Instead, I now point them to the sides or the ceiling because I now know how blinding these bright lights can be.
I sometimes don’t agree with you Brian on some things but most of the time you’re right on the money. And I’m so glad you made this video because you are exactly right End it was very cool to see all the different angles of those lights and what they look like in the clients eyes and in the room
you prolly dont care but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can give me

I have also put a plastic lens diffuser (like they have in fluorescent lights) and cover the LEDs. That actually makes the wash a little wider and then you can throw more light around, especially when you are in a smaller area, like a bar to cover a band, or just to have over your head when DJing.
definitely way better of a choice ! thanks brian. Also,if you're doing this with washes,i'm pretty positive that having some effect lighting facing your dance floor while washing the room won't take away from your effects.
Very helpful. I would also point out this is a small room and sometimes no matter where you put the lights they have some direct affect on someone. I have learned that there is an initial shock . I own 2 DOTZ Floodz and have struggled with these issues. Just recently,I found that fading them and gradually turning them up has some effectiveness. It's like a deer when people first enter the room. Then they (I adjust too) and they get used to it. Absolutely an issue to keep an eye on! Thanks for addressing this Brian. Also, most of the attention is on the dance floor so I now try to avoid put them by my sound as people are always looking in that direction most often!
Thanks you give amazing videos & information and ideas on products i use or plan to use in the future as a mobile DJ. Im just now getting into lighting so you're lighting idea vids under $100 is perfect. I have a ballroom party next wknd so hopefully i can put something together by then.

Hey Brian - if I want to have purple lights on stage, should my stage props be painted black or white? Will the lights show up on black Amps / black mic stands etc? Or would the stage look more purple if the props were painted white?
I think the best "look" Persia is straight up because it gives a good wash and in my opinion it looks better from a crowd view. What's you opinion commenters?

I think it always pays to get out in front an experience what your guests are experiencing with lights and sound and how the setup looks.

Thanks for the video. At smaller events I use my ADJ Flashback 4 and place the on the floor - it works for me.

How would you go by doing this in a school gym? I shine down from 10 feet up pointing down. You would have to look up to get blinded
djizzynyc It's all kind of common sense. Whatever isn't blinding anyone & creates wash is great
