The Anfield Road Stand Expansion looks Great from a distance, once the long snagging list is completed it’s going to look 👀 even better close up.
Now Anfield has a decent capacity. Hopefully in the future that will increase with the expansion of the other two stands and Liverpool FC are playing exciting football again.
All the best to the lads against Brighton, stay top of the premiership and improve the goal difference will be a plus.

The capcitys going to be reduced once they start work on the SKD stand over the next year or two.

Well yes, it is. But we're getting there in difficult circumstances.
Re 20,000 seats too small, don't forget about planning restictions from the council, LFC can't just do what they want, amends were made to initial design e.g. the roof should mirror the main stand but the planners rejected that due to stopping peoples views. Whose view I don't know. Long live fairygate 😀

The expansion is a big improvement on the stadium, but am I the only one who is a little disappointed with the design of the Main and AR stands? When you look at Spurs, Barcelona, Real Madrid, plans for Man Utd... all state-of-the-art stadia, whereas Anfield already seems a little behind and dated. Cladding looks uninspiring, are the AC units remaining uncovered like that? Surely something more inspiring could have been designed?
That is the whole point of the design. They stated that they wanted the new stands to maintain the same aesthetic as the two older stands to maintain consistency with the colour scheme of the Kop and SKD stands…..I personally quite like the design and not like the generic “bowl” design that other stadiums go with nowadays…..
@@killbot86 It just seems that as soon as Old Trafford is expanded or rebuilt, Anfield will be behind OT again for another 30+ years You get the WOW factor just looking at Spurs stadium, not sure the design of Anfield gives the same reaction. ( I am not talking about the atmosphere or support, but the design and facilities). Anfield expansion looks like a 90s design.
@@killbot86same here ,,but i hope they can replicate the skd like the mainstand which will take lfc to 70,000 and yes iknow they will have to open up the disused railway station nearby
Right now FSG have said nothing about any potential Phase 3 or 4 of the renovations, they only ever committed to Phase 1 and 2 so it remains to be seen when they’ll ever get the council approval and money to even consider rebuilding the Kop or SKD stands….
@@killbot86 I have a funny feeling some level of discussions are taking place between LFC and Liverpool Council. The Anfield Regeneration Project seems to have stalled, absolutely no progress despite plans and consultants being assigned to it. It would be such an own goal to develop any land around SKD and Kop stands without factoring in potential expansions.
