I’m an ambivert for sure. As long as I have adequate time to fill my cup with my hobbies (reading, painting, writing, napping) I’m down for socializing. However, the social interactions have to be of substance. I party with a purpose lol.
I'm an ambivert. I get so energized my meaningful and interesting social interactions, and also need a lot of quiet time to recharge. It's hard to find a good balance with a toddler, as they provide constant simulation at home and less opportunities for restful activities
Love the conclusions here. I'm biased, but your thoughts mirror some opinions I've had for a while, namely: folks who intentionally know how to give space and only take up space when necessary make for the best people to be around. It's the intentionality, awareness, and reciprocity factors that I love in those folks that has taught me how to be even calmer and observe more than I "do".
Im an ambivert and I think the best lovers are ambiverts, not to toot my own horn but because of my personal sexual experiences. The worst lovers I’ve had were all extroverts. Sex with them was usually overwhelming because they were doing too much, performing if you will. The few introverts I’ve been with, the sex was just ok. Not bad, just so much room for growth but they were too in their heads. My husband, who’s the only ambivert that I’ve had sex with is by far the best lover I’ve had. He has a lot of skills and techniques but he only uses what’s necessary for me in the moment based on the kind of sexual experience we want. It’s been 5 years and sex has always fit my desire at the moment, a lot of times without me even vocalizing what I want. He very good a reading me.
I'm a social introvert... I NEED my alone time. Too much people time irritates me. When I'm alone too long and finally go out, I get social anxiety. I'd rather spend time with a select few people that I enjoy spending time with than a bunch of strangers. I prefer a lover who is also a social introvert... I seem to attract very showy extroverts though which I think is strange
Most will see me as extroverted, but I also enjoy alone time and can feel exhausted after performative extroversion in attempt to “fill the space”. I’ve been trying to learn that it’s okay to just exist without interaction or conversation.
I’m teaching this to a business class tommorow neglecting the sexual part of it I think it’s instinctually intuitive to one’s thought n actions in a business setting as well thank you!
Id say I'm in between the introvert and multivert. I need time to mentally prepare to be in a crowd but I can't be in a crowd all the time. And I think the extrovert is more an ideal lover physically and mentally it's the introvert
I can be both, it's a switch. When I feel good, I'm well rested, on my shtuff and want to be social, around the right people, I'm extroverted (because fck giving my energy to an unreceptive public, frfr). But seriously? That happens... maybe 15% of the year lol. I'm a nice person, I can speak to anyone anywhere, I do a costumer service job and I'm good at it, it's enough social interaction for me y'know what I mean. As for a partner, I like men that are extroverted, not afraid to be goofy and all, expressive, and passionate, but I definitely need a lot of silence and me time so I like them introverted as well and able to read a room and switch between both when appropriate. Aa for physically, I like all different types of man, but ideally, a man who is fit and healthy, I like them a bit alternative lol ohh I love it when they dress well, I looooove a deep voice. Anyway, that's it for meeee
Hearing you say that (healthy) introverts make the best partners, however subjective it might be, is really refreshing. I feel like the whole world tells us the complete opposite.
I have always known I am an Extrovert but after watching this, I am realizing just how MUCH OF an extrovert I am hahaha. I used to love it and still do, but as I get older I am realizing the need for more balance. I tend to attract a lot of introverts, especially romantically, so it's been a lot of looking into the mirror for me as to why I need to fill up space so much.
This introvert vs extrovert discussion is silly to me. I thought everyone need alone time. I like to socialize sometimes with people I know and I also need alone time.
Introvert and extrovert relate to one’s dopamine reward networks. While this seems like academic responses, they are not. Maybe they are for the social media world.
Great point dopamine activity can influence whether a person is more introverted or extroverted, although personality is complex and influenced by many factors, including genetics, environment, and individual experiences. And also curious what value you think assessing social disposition mostly in this way would have when 99.9% of people will never get a PET scan
@@Nklloa… How could it be? Psychology is literally part of neuroscience, which refutes your statement on its face. I think I’m an extrovert. lol I described to my friend that I am rarely unsatisfied sexually with partnered sex because I’m mentally 80% of the way to an orgasm before we even get naked 😂
I am an introvert, easily. As far as lovers are concern, I do not know since I never had a lover in my life and may never have one. I always considered extroverts to be way more fun, at least in comparison to me. I am extremely boring, with no personality in site.
I think it’s a misconception that introverts are boring. Introverts have great conversations, tend to have unique life perspectives, and are great in 1 on 1 interactions. 😊

For the introverts who feel "boring": I recommend the book "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking" by Susan Cain
Thanks so much ❤️
