    Man, we were just there four days ago. We caught a ton whiting and spots, about a 50lbs ray, 2 blacktips and one of them was about 5 feet the smaller one was about 3 feet. We had a seller day. Great video

    • @fishincontrol
      @fishincontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have come to the right place. You'll learn just as much from watching my failures as you will from watching my successes. The best couple of tips I can give are 1) the cleaner the water the better the chances so if there is a bunch of debris you probably won't catch much, 2) fresh dead never frozen shrimp catches almost everything in saltwater and some in freshwater, so when all else fails that is the go-to bait.

    • @fishincontrol
      @fishincontrol  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, I offer 4 hour guided beach fishing packages. Booking one of those is a great way to learn how to do it yourself. You will learn a ton from just one session.

  • @reefwade

    At low, that water is incredibly shallow VERY far out. I walked hundred yards+ (mushy clay btw) and only got to my knees. I saw tons of baitfish activity on outgoing tide, about 50 yards off.

    • @fishincontrol
      @fishincontrol  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      At one end of the island it stays pretty shallow at low. Where were you able to walk out that far?

      I tend to use 30 pound braid for my main line. 12 pound fluorocarbon leader for whiting, 17-20 pound for general purpose/artificial, and 20-30 pound for redfish and sharks

      Pompano rigs and whiting rigs in the surf with 3-4 oz pyramid sinkers and fresh dead shrimp peeled and cut into 1/2 in pieces. As little extra metal on your rig as possible

      I use almost exclusively circle hooks. The painted ones came from rigs I bought from Salty's Pompano Rigs or Frisky Fins. Both make exceptional rigs. I also save and reuse parts from the leaders I buy when I hand tie new leaders.

    • @fishincontrol
      @fishincontrol  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't give me a very good link to share here but if you search for the Offshore Angler Deluxe Fishing Cart, you'll see mine for $199, and the new version with better wheels for $279. If you can afford it, the better wheels will be worth it. You'll be able to carry a little heavier load without sinking into the sand. Mine does okay, but I have to be careful about overloading it. Hope that helps.
