JEEP XJ- HOW TO FENDER TRIM (THE FINAL CUT)

- Used the metabo to trim the fender flares on our 2000 Cherokee XJ to make room for our 32" Milestar Patagonia M/T. We're applying 3M Protekto rubber trim to give it a cleaner look. On this video for THE FINAL CUT, we did the front fenders.

I had never used an angle grinder until I cut my own fenders. Now over 4 years later, I have cut and grinded a lot of stuff. I have never cut myself but I have flung stuff into my eyes. lol

You really should wear a faceshield with cutoff wheels in case blade explodes! Also wanted to say hi from and eastside Washingtonian,pipefitter...just heard you mention it!lol I just bought my first 2001 xj. Starting the build tomorrow. you xj looks really good and I like you 2 build it together!

Had to look up those tires after seeing your video. They look really good especially for the price. Just ordered a set of 31s. I cant belive how cheap they are!
bulldog45k - we couldn’t believe how cheap they were either! We ordered ours off Amazon; never thought I’d order TIRES off Amazon, but we couldn’t ignore the price 🤑 And when Boo needs new tires on his F150, we’re going to order him the same ones!! 😄
I prefer angle grinders with momentary switches rather than latching switches specifically so if they get away from me they shut off. The latching kind are slightly easier to use but if something goes wrong it can cause problems.

The reason it kicked back is because of the way you were holding it. Always try to shoot the sparks in the direction of the grinder body. If they are shooting away from the grinder body it's almost always going kick back on you! I'm glad that you are ok!

Can you please let us know what type of mouldings you used?? I cant seem to find anything like the stuff you used, but it looks great and I want to use it on my build! Thanks!!
Josh Wiseman - go to DPGoffroad.com and look for Protekto Trim. Dean will send you a roll of 3M Protekto trim that easily molds to your fender trims. The roll is long enough for all 4 fender trims plus extra. It lasts and holds up great! We love it! ❤️🐞
What size lift is on the XJ y’all did the fender trim on.
How many inches of lift do you have on your. Xj
Are you going to cut your bumper to Match your wheel wells on the Front wheel wells just curious if your tires are going to come up and kiss the bumper tube
