    For the unit weight of floor finish how is 23.5 calculated . From is code floor finish clay floor tiles unit wt is 0.1 to 0.2 pliz explain

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      IS code gives is for tiles is for kn/m2
      here in formula we have to put value in kn/m3
      as this i have taken referance with NPTEL Course by Prof. Dhang of IIT-KGP
      do check out his lecture of staircase design you'll sort out of this doubt

    Sir,there is small doubt in calculating super dead load . Can u explain how 50mm thick mortar is 1.05 kn/m2 ?if 10mm is 0.21. ? Actually 50*.21=10.5

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      for 10 mm it is 0.21 kN/m2 right
      so for 50 mm
      it is 10×5=50 :: 0.21×5=1.05
      hence for 50 mm it is 1.05 kN/m2

    • @AkshayThakur

      it depends on what materials you are using.. I have just use values which are approximate for standard materials...

  • @khansohail4939

    Water proofing is 125 mm so you should take 0.125 why you have 0.0125 can you plz explain

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it was only writing mistake, if you see considered value is 2.75 kN/m2 which is 0.125×22=2.75 kN/m2

    I think there is some kind of confusion with waterproofing thickness and its load calculation. the thickness of waterproofing is 0.125 m but you took it as 0.0125 m.

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, In the report by mistake it is 0.0125 but Calculation is correct i.e, 0.125*22=2.75 kN/m^2
      It was a writing mistake but there is also note to that, 125 mm Thickness for Waterproofing

    In waterproofing course you are calculating mass of waterproofing course which you have written as load intensity ri8 ??? If that is the case we know density =mass/volume, we have the density ,but how have you taken the depth of waterproofing as volume ??? I don't get it ,mass = density × volume but instead you multiplied density with depth ,can you explain this ??

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry, it was writing mistake... so i mistakenly tell that it is density...
      • 22 kN/m3 is not density it is unit weight of waterproofing course
      • 125 mm = 0.125m
      so, 0.125×22 = 2.75 kN/m3
      ● by-the-way, calcution is right in the load calculation report

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I consider average standard wt. for unit wt. of 10mm plaster which is 0.21 kN/m2 and then for 6mm Ceiling Plaster Wt.
      0.21 × 0.6 gives ceiling plaster wt./m2

    Hello sir
    Sir i wanted to ask we don't use factor of safety for loads in etabs as we add factor of safety manual

    • @AkshayThakur
      @AkshayThakur  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have to enter working loads while assiging them in ETABS.... not factored loads,
      by the way whatever factor for load you want, that you can do it by load combination....
      but do apply loads as working loads while using ETABS so you can check the structure for serviceability criteria within same model....
      for Factor of Safety for Materials you have option to change them under view/revise preferences under design ribbon
