Yeah that seems pretty interesting. You were calling for quick drops to require a higher rating for a long time. That's clutch. The dribble sigs thing makes sense too. I will miss being able to curry slide, shoot pretty well, have 92 driving dunk, and being able to lock up on the perimeter and also block shots with my glitched 6'7 PG 2 way 3 pt playmaker. I'm going to try and make a similar build a couple inches shorter to start off 2k23 I think. It's been so fun.
If you flick down then hold down does that mean they rework dribbling with the right stick because before a flick on the right stick would make you do a hop step or step back n the hold down would make you shoot
The problem with 2K22 was the fact the dunk meter was useless. I loved it and mastered it but too many times I timed it perfectly only to pop out because of intimidater. Just putting on quick drops solved all the dunking issues. I believe if you have a high dunk rating it should only be blocked by very high block rating defenders. Dunkers with below 70 dunks should get their dunks swatted more often.
If you’re a strong slasher, try a different dribble style like Power or LBJ, you get way more powerful animations. Most of the framework is already in the game, we just gotta get away from the “meta”.
I been telling people this. I had a 6'3 slash play pg on current. Dribbles likes curry, rose, etc made it hard for me to attack angles. I switched to Khwai dribble package. It was so simple and precise. I was able to control my drive angles alot more.
This comment in it of itself is also promoting a "meta" for slashers. I know that wasn't your intent, but there will always moves people will gravitate to no matter what.
I usually run 99 layup and 95 close shot no driving dunk, basically a kyrie style of finisher, it's weird that builds with high layup can't get the slashing takeover when it also boosts layup animations, gathers and contact layup
I’m surprised you say strength hasn’t gotten you more dunks. I have a 6’7 25 strength and 6’8 60 strength. My stronger guy I feel like gets by the defender much easier when attacking. Maybe it’s another variable I’m not considering
For real. My 6'7 PG had 92 driving dunk, 90 vertical, and 45 strength (which isn't a lot, but it's not 25 at least) along with gold limitless takeoff, HOF Posterizer, and HOF Slithery Finisher and I would blow dunks with good stamina left when the opposing big was like 5 feet away sometimes. Crazy.
Have you seen daczars stream about bodyups? Very informative. The game will be out soon enough but if you want to know about how the defensive shading system works on drives as well as the perimeter it's neat.

Big centers are never meant to play perimeter… My 7’2 with 99 reb and block only comes out in the Rec when we play zone so I can just stay in the paint on defense
I'm thinking strength will or should be somewhat of a factor for slashers..especially if u are looking to equip the bully badge..also 2k should require some strength in order to unlock contact dunks..
Iirc they did say the dunk meter was coming to old Gen Mike Wang also said that the new dunk controls change depending on if ur left handed or right handed

I’m a casual that play after work and spend a few hundred to max out my build so I don’t get blown out in the rec. i really don’t understand the the skill gap argument. It’s so easy to see the difference between a casual and a hardcore play. But 2k23 looks to be made for you hardcore play! Enjoy!

I believe spin dunks/layups will be the same as they have been. Rotating the r-stick clockwise/counterclockwise depending on ball hand and direction you want to spin.
Have you ever dunked?! Back scratchers require more altitude and a different timing all together. Tomahawks, lean in and liberties all have way different timing IRL. I know from experience not a damn video game. Thoughs with no hops have so many opinions. SMFH

Strength helps with blow bys and body ups and also how mud speed is maintained after a bump on the way attacking the basket
