ABOUT THIS GAME
The missions undertaken by the crews of B-17 bombers during World War II are the stuff of legend. What was it like to fly through relentless anti-aircraft fire over Nazi-occupied Europe? What was it like to have a thin layer of steel between life and death at 15,000 feet? How did it feel to furiously fend off enemy fighters zipping around your plane and then to precisely deliver your payload over enemy targets?
Find out for yourself as you lead a 10-man crew to victory... or defeat... against squadrons of Nazi warplanes in the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress!
Redux
The same experience remastered with the original engine upgraded to support the functionality present in DX 12. Working on the redux will give us the opportunity to look back and learn in order to push forward with future Flying Fortress titles.

Wooo.. this was a tough operation taff, but the good thing is you made it home safely.. yes.. you had to turn for home but there's no shame in that, there's a saying.. live today, fight tomorrow.. or as I like to say, live to fight another day. 21st operation and you had to turn for home, that's not bad.. the fact you got your crew home is a victory in it's own right, the plane can be repaired.. or replaced if the damage is too serious.. machines can be replaced.. lives.. it's a different story. You got home safely, so get yourself out on the town with the crew, or to the local.. and get yourselves a well earned drink. You survived and came home safely, so well done mate.. congratulations on getting through this one alive.. looking forward to the next episode, keep it up and well done mate 👏👍
Col. Craig Harriman:"Target for today is Bremen."
Shush Taff. Saying "End in sight" can jinx us! Excellent bringing "Misbehavin" home with no wounds to the crew.
Glad you made it back! Good luck next mission.
I was a bit surprised that your B-17 couldn't keep up with the formation with 1 dead engine. I would have thought that throttling up the remaining 3 engines would have been sufficient - after all, the formation speed was only 150 mph.
Well done on getting home on your own. Most lame duck B-17s were doomed once the enemy fighters realised their predicament.
Anytime you play this game it's a must watch for me. For me some reason it's major nostalgia for me but I've never played it before.
6:40 not an engine fire, oil leak.
Your tail is covered by oil.
The crew can/will automatically shut down and put out a fire. The crew will feather the engine.
a short sortie Taff, Sorry you got removed from the mission so early but it still counts as a flight. The end is in sight, 4 to go. Thank you Taff
This game has a lot of potential, I didn't know you could do some of the things that you did on this mission. Is it still being updated?
Micropose is uploaded a clip of the updated B-17 graphics for the Redux just a day or two ago. Taff went back to the original game cause of tech issues.
I think that historically, this mission wouldn't count towards the 25. And at this point in the war the requirement was maybe up to 30 missions - for each crew member.
Did you drop your bombs before leaving formation? I think the entire group would drop same time as you.
oh wow that was tough...I hope you can make it to 25...
That was quick. Could it be that you shot down the Mustang? You hit two fighters that were close together.
6:10 That seems to be the case!😅🧐
Yes, the squad needs Capt. Taff leading the team or the end results drop waaayyyyy back! When you got rid of the bombs, was it over water, occupied territory or some random village (making it a bit of a bad day for those folks).
There is a B-17 and a B-29 at an airport near me from now until Sunday
You should do a double mission episode!!!
If that was the final course you went with, they might’ve had trouble hitting the target because someone put the decision point in front of the first waypoint
How many replace guys you got ? What happend with guys who got less than 25 . Will they fly exta mission(s) ?
Taff keeps flying until 1 member of the original crew gets to 25 missions complete. That's job done, end of series.
Soldier's Medal The criteria for the medal are: "The Soldier's Medal is awarded to any person of the Armed Forces of the United States or of a friendly foreign nation who, while serving in any capacity with the Army of the United States, including Reserve Component soldiers not serving in a duty status at the time of the heroic act, distinguished himself or herself by heroism not involving conflict with an enemy."
That must have been for getting the right main gear down, then. Preventing the need for a crash landing.
Blackjack!
