Love our penn slammers and we don’t mind that they’re a tad “tractor like” haven’t broken one yet and most we have a still fairly smooth.
Thanks for the nice and helpful video
You said it is not as silky smooth as a diawa but it retains it smoothness much longer when compared to the diawa
Good review. Only question I would’ve thought the machining would be at a higher tolerance
Man I still have my old penn reel they r fken strong as reel
They are a great reel I bought the 6500
Makes easy work of big fish
Really smooth drag
All reels should be made smooth no matter what reel size or name if a company takes pride in their workmanship .
I really like the specs on the Authority but I like the slammer design and colors better
The brass gear will probably be smoother as well.
@@eves08109 no it’s not
Sounds like giveaway’s time 👍
Might add it to my lbg collection,i have 3 slammers that cop a beating on the stones 🤙
What do you recommend for wells catfish?
Keen to try
Not much difference in the Slammer 4dx and the Authority. Except the dx is $150 cheaper and the dx, in my opinion looks better. The best looking reel in Penns line up.
WHERE DO I BUY??
It's exactly the same drag? Like literally the same
@2:34, pause and look at the Slammer iV4500 the white guys holding. The coin-slot cap on the knob is not screwed on properly, it's cross threaded. For those with mechanical sympathy & who service reels like myself, or just those with ocd. This is a thing of nightmares & shouldn't happen in a tackle shop, of all places. Please unscrew it, & put it back on it's thread properly. Or I won't sleep. Cheers...
Drag is same as slammer. what is the improvement? same dura drag and same design... The reel is smoother granted , but tnot the drag itself
Where are they manufactured?
Chy-Na
Do I need IPX8 rating…. Will I be fishing for 30 minutes under 1 meter of water….. No but once my new slammers 4 are coming to end of their life I might upgrade
가격?
How much are they
An arm and a leg.
Daiwa Certate SW MQ Vs. Pen Authority 🤜🤛
What will be your choice?
Cert ate everyday
No thanks, I'll take the authority. More reel for less.
I’ll stick to daiwa thanks
These reviews on these reels are hilarious, I would say besides the Stella that's 2x the price... there aint no way in hell you're gonna feel the difference in these 300-600 dollar reels especially the monstrous 10k sizes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Completely untrue laughing troll.....I have a penn spinfisherVI 8500 and a Diawa Saltist 6500....within 1 oz weight difference between them but the feeling is so much smoother and more well balanced in the diawa and butter smooth effortless reeling with 7 more inches per turn on the spinfisher
I can cast for hours with the more balanced and smoother diawa vs the spinfisherVI which I use for chucking bait....diawas for casting lures
The difference between the 2 is like powerful sportscar vs a good truck
2 of these or 1 Stella? I’d take 2 authorities please
Me too!
Based on stats alone, this blows Stella out of the water. Packs out 60 lbs of drag vs. Stella 55lbs. Plus more line.
get a Saragosa if you want a tuff reel. and for $700+ i would get a Twin Power
Shimano reels are half aluminum half plastic😂😂😂
Penn reels are the work horse out there🤙🏼
The Saragossa or twin power is not going to be as durable as the Authority with that stainless steel main gear and that includes the drag system. Plus the drag is more powerful on this reel.
Meh
Actually seeing it in person is alot prettier , high quality reel , got 4500 ,is this means good bye penn torque
Whoever designed the colour scheme to these reels was on drugs. looks like the safety markings on a factory floor. horrible paint scheme with all those yellow lines all over the place and writing on every surface...reel (sic) tacky stuff. love the reel though, will be getting the 8500HS
