This song always reminds me of my daughter that passed away Dec 23 2017. She loved Kenny Loggins ♥ She was 30 when I found her on my bathroom floor from an overdose of big Pharma. This song is what I played at her celebration of life.

Bless you. I have also lost my daughter at 29. My son, who is a young musician, sang In My Life by John Lennon at the funeral. It was beautiful although incredibly sad. I think John's song was meant to be this way and it fit perfectly, My son stating that although he and his sister were not always together (she lived away from the family for 12 years), he was always thinking of her with love and kindness.
This song of Kenny's is similar and like all good songwriters it comes from his heart. I'm glad that you have a song that has such a connection for you. Best wishes from England.

It's one of my favorite "holiday" songs of all time.

My future bride and I were new in love in early 1993.
I traveled to SoCal that Summer to be a Lifeguard.
I also attended a Kenny Loggins concert at the Greek Theater in LA that Summer.
After the show I was backstage on a payphone expressing how good the concert was. I was so in love... ;-)
As we were talking, Kenny Loggins came walking by.... :-o
I asked Kenny if he might say hello to my new fiance' in Washington. He did and told Erika congratulations on our engagement. :-)
I wish I could say we married soon thereafter, but that would be 7 years later in May 2000.
I see this song, "Celebrate Me Home", as also being a plea for reconciliation, somewhat like "Tie a Yellow Ribbon...".
That next Summer, 1994, Erika and I went to a Kenny Loggin's show at The Summer Nights at the Pier Concert Series in Seattle.
We both were able to Meet Kenny and his band after the show.
Kenny Loggins is from Everett Washinton so he was very approachable there and stayed quite a while signing autographs and talking with local fans and friends. 🙂

Who is that amazing man on guitar?? Somebody named Scott Bernard. That was breathtaking!! He really "gets" what is so beautiful about the song and gave the perfect solo to prove it. It's not Christmas without this song in ANY of Kenny's versions.
