Played this game for hours a day as a kid. My brother and I always did co-op teams and played full seasons and playoffs. One day we were in like game 4 of the SCF havn't lose one game all year. My mom accidently stepped on the cords in the back and dislodge the power cable. Lost every thing haha. Sad times.
that music @the select a team option was awesome back in the day, it had me pumped everytime. Just like when playing MK2 that theme @the select character was awesome.
@burteriksson … Stop crying because someone’s opinion is different than yours … Grow up .. One timers are cool as you can see I said 93-94 are the best, but one timers also made the game more offensive, I like defense, so both versions I play, both offer a different perspective …
Really you can have matthews instead of Gilmore I never new that but part of playing these for me is the old school players I use to watching growing up.
If you like hockey, you cant beat it. Its the best hockey game bar none on genesis. And im with the other guy, i like the old players for the nostalgia. Makes me feel like im 9 years old again
I am happy that this video bought back memories! That is why I love retro gaming because of the replay value and reliving memories! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing to my channel!
That version is so broken incredibly easy on novice and impossible on intermediate the Genesis version is far superior. It's maybe the best NHL game ever on Genesis
@burteriksson I prefer Sega NHL 95 I fail to see all the love for 94. Take away that you can't even play a whole season the gameplay is still better on 95
I believe the game was released too late. The Nordiques didn't move until May of '95 and this game was released in October of '95. Too late to change the programing.

I bet she called it a Nintendo to 😂
Heatbreaking to see that Nordiques logo. All those years of futility and struggle, just for Denver to be gift-wrapped a title.
Just bought this off eBay for a fiver. Been battering it all afternoon. Love it
Yeah, I remember when the Islanders had the "Gordon's Fisherman" as their logo.
Me Too That Was a Dumb Logo!
The mid to late 90's had some really bad logo changes.
Ahhh the good old days

I miss these games
Holy hell that theme music
It's also found in BioMetal for the SNES.
NHL 94 set the standard. Even to this day the best.
Brings back memories :)
I love this game
I loved the goalie sprites and animations in this game.
I used to customize my whole roster
My First hockey games
I miss the old canucks logo
The crowd still sounds a lot like the ocean. Awesome game, though.
93-94 are the 2 best versions...
@burteriksson … One timers didn’t make or break the game, 93 played awesome regardless..

Looks like a cool Sega Genesis game that I need to get. :D

NHL 95 was the game. Create player first. Plus some players were just hidden gems who made your squad next level
NHL 96 GENESIS blueprints reused again till NHL 98.
Just purchased this and NHL 93!!!!! 93 is the game with the fighting!!
That is awesome! Enjoy playing!
VideoGaming4U Thanks bro! This video just brought back so many memories!!! That’s why I collect!!! You can always return to those times!! SUBSCRIBED

@burteriksson NHL 2K10 is my favorite over all of them though
This game is so good
I Have This Game For My Mini Sega But It Doesn’t Work Which Sucks Unlike NHL 94, NHL 95 and ESPN National Hockey Night!
Why is Quebec Nordiques in this game? Didn't they relocated to Colorado (Avalance) in the 95-96 season?

❤❤❤
Memories
Glorious...
Which NHL game is the one where the net lights on fire after a hat trick
Much better than 94
Really? I Might Disagree With U Cause NHL 94 is The Better Hockey Game For The Sega!
I Have This Game For My Mini Sega But It Doesn’t Work Unlike NHL 94 and NHL 95 Along With ESPN National Hockey Night!
Is there fighting
Yes NHL 96 Does Have Fighting!
Penalties ON/NO offsides lol
What's the name of the opening tune?
