Wondaria is easily the best world in the game. No two levels felt alike, it’s origin is cute and heartwarming and it has easily some of the best music in the game
Hmmm,I feel like Everblue Coast or the Winter World was the best
@@GamesbiteRtDL Everblue Coast to me was just another beach world but I do really like Winter Horns. The music in Northeast Frost Street sounded straight out of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the area in general is really gritty and dark compared to the rest, which I enjoy a lot.
@@alua1077 Fax
I agree!! my ranking of the areas would be as follows:
1. Wondaria Remains
2. Originull Wastelands
3. Winter Horns
4. Redgar Forbidden Lands
5. Natural Plains
6. Isolated Isles - Forgo Dreams
7. Everblue Coast
8. Lab Discovera
The way they set the atmosphere of the world was the best; the beginning of the Speedway level begins with Awoofies forming a line to get into an attraction.
Something about first visiting Wondaria, having little ducklings follow you around and Kirby and Elfilin putting their heads in the wood cutouts of astronauts to this song really hits a soft spot.
the first level of Wondaria made me smile like a child, probably my favorite level of the game, i could even say that its my favorite level across the whole franchise, everything was perfect for me
So... I have a confession. Abandoned theme parks is one of my favorite aesthetics in the entire universe. It's both sad, creepy, and nostalgic. To think that one day, the rides were filled with people, the paths filled with voices and laughter, that there used to be lines of customers waiting to get in... all to be left and abandoned. A place once filled with joy and memories to be made, is now a forgotten memory. Not only do I love it for the yin-yang sort of vibe it gives off between happy and sad, but I just love upbeat music, even moreso when accompanied by an abandoned level.
There's just something I love, but also hate at the same time, about thinking about the past, especially amusement parks. The people who once sat in those rides are long dead, the people who once bought popcorn at those stands are long dead. And now, it's your turn to experience this history that the world forgot. I have large respect for the dead, so it always irks me (in the best and worst ways) to visit very very old places of entertainment where people spent their times to enjoy the limited time they had on this planet, only to see it not be in use anymore.
When I hear this song I think of Kirby having fun EVERY day from opening to closure in this park. He's sad when it closes but is the first one to get in when it opens. It's like Cuphead and Mugman in the first episode of the TV series but more calm and rational, like a malsane addiction to fun. Not a childish fun like Cuphead and Mugman, but still sad.
Many levels in this world and also the mall levels gave me liminal space vibes since I first laid eyes on them in the trailer. Gaming needs more levels like these.
Damn, I got the same vibes back in Natural Plains when I saw the decrepit and abandoned buildings and thought, "Wow, Kirby is literally (aside from the Beast Pack) the only living, intelligent being on this entire planet". It makes me wonder what happened to this world and it's inhabitants
Wait hold on. You know the "forgotten" worlds Kirby explores? Here's an interesting detail. The "forgotten" thing is seen in the levels of the worlds. For example: In Welcome To Wondaria, there are areas covered in mud, which really shows that the amusement park is abandoned.
Honestly, the only "forgotten" world I've seen was that factory level from Kirby 64 and that area that looked like a shopping mall. But yeah, the fact that almost every surface is covered with greenery or decaying really shows how forgotten this world is- it's both intriguing and eerie
Why does this have such a bittersweet feeling? I mean it sounds like an amusement park, but it sounds like the memory of something long gone.
I mean thats what happened to the amusement park so
The callback to Moonlit Capitol probably has something to do with that...
This song really fits the atmosphere of a young child (Kirby) visiting an amusement park on a sunny day
When I went to Universal Orlando Resort yesterday, this music plays in my head.
I specially love this song, idk why, it's just beautyful
Idk why this made me feel sad, but in a good nostalgic way. A young Kirby at Disney land
It is impossible for me to imagine a young Kirby I’m pretty sure he’s just been like this since he was born
@@magtea3836 we don't really know how old kirby is outside the anime which isn't canon. kirby is kirby
Defeating Awoofies feels bad enough, but especially on this world where they just look like they're trying to have a good time at the carnival feels extra worse, so I just left as many of them alone as I could
They're just in line waiting their turn 🤣
Same. I can't harm them when they want to have fun. Leave them be and let them enjoy the park.
I love how some don't even attack like it's their day off
Wondaria in general feels like the Kirby Universe equivalent to Disney Land/World considering the lore behind it
Also Universal Resort too
And Cedar Point.
I was thinking the same exact thing once I got the Wondog and Wondy collectible (or some other one relating to Wondaria)
Disney world doesn’t have the same monopoly on theme parks it used to, it isn’t event the most popular one now
This really feels like the spiritual successor of Triple Deluxe's circus world, especially at 1:18 when the sound used is literally the same.
Honestly this theme is so fitting as it sounds so upbeat yet slightly creepy at the same time. Perfect for an old run down decaying amusement park. Honestly I like all the attention to detail of all the wear and decay.
This song makes me feel sooo much! It's so upbeat and cheery but the main melody feels somewhat melancholic regardless, really perfect for an abandoned park, you can almost feel the happiness and joy experienced on these grounds during its hayday, despite it being abandoned now...
Pin this comment PLEASE, very good explanation
This soundtrack may sound happy but not too happy, as if there was still a trace of sorrow left, so to speak. And it fits the idea of feeling carefree at an amusement park.
All I can think about is the ducks and how fun the water balloon mode was!
I said *GLUGLGULGLUGLGUGLGULGLUG* everytime I used it lmao
Are we just not gonna mention how 1:19 has moonlight capital in it?
genuinely love how this is a remix of thw first royal road theme....
That's what that is!
Honestly I like Triple Deluxe more than Robobot
I thought it was a remix of Lavadom from Star Allies…
@@cloud9979 it's got bits from both! Kirby games love to reference old music
@@galacticam2000 no its another downtown grassland remix
THIS SONG IS ALREADY NOSTALGIC
Wondaria is one of my favorite worlds in this game, and I really hope that the games that follow this one continue exploring fresh world ideas like the ones in this game.
The signs (using Forgotten Land's substitution cypher) say WondEria - the big one on the ferris wheel, the one on the statue at the entrance, and every single flag and such says 'Wonderia'. The last letter and the fifth letter are not the same letter. In every other sign and caption, the letter used for the fifth letter is an e. AlivEl Mall, burgErs, HolinE, et cetera. I think the localization team may have goofed.
I love how summer this feels, really adds to the mood of Wondaria basically being this world’s Disneyland
This level is a great start to highlight what's probably going to be a fan-favorite world in the future.
The music's cheerful, yet somber, the aesthetic is full of charm, but my personal favorite moment in the level is the introduction to Water-Balloon Mouth Kirby. Just seeing Kirby becoming this absolute unit of a chonk with jiggle physics included always gets me in a giggling fit. It's hilariously adorable.
I had to play this level 3 times because my brother kept turning off the switch to play breath of the wild, but I honestly did not mind.
I on purposely missed a lot of the missions in theese levels so I could go back and do them all again
Anyone personally think this sounds a bit like Triple Deluxe? Boy, do I miss that game.
1:18 Moonlight Capital leitmotif
Ok guys hear me out
We need Kirby theme park irl, Nintendo or not
*Nintendo World or not
I think Wondaria is where the game design peaked in the game. All the levels have at least one memorable part (this one's ride, the track course, the haunted mansion and of course the Dream Parade).
you know a soundtrack is built different when the first time you listen to it ingame it already feels nostalgic
This song feels so happy
why do I hear a bit of Moonlight Capital in this from Triple Deluxe?
This song has been living in my head rent free since release, it's so goddamn catchy!
No puede ser, no hace ni 2 días que me he pasado la historia principal y ya me estoy sintiendo nostalgico escuchando el soundtrack

A very upbeat song! Fitting for an amusement park
Imma use it for my Trip to Universal Orlando Resort vlog music
To me it sounds like remembering and mourning the summers now lost forever to the sands of time. It's a surprisingly melancholic song to me, especially the organ and horn.
Abandoned theme park in realility is creepy but this one is Enjoyment and light hearted
I love this theme bc it makes me feel happy and sad at the same time, I think that's basically what nostalgia means
Last night i had a nightmare. I was in Wondaria, but many years before the games take place. The New World was still populated. The people and the children had a carefree fun. But suddenly everything changes and people realize they have to escape the planet. There was a strong feeling of sadness and resignation. In the background there was this music. I woke up very upset. Sorry for my english not perfect
Bro's got a vision of kirby lore
that "badabadaba badabadaba" sounds so familiar... it's from Triple Deluxe right?
Yeah Royal Road or Moonlight capital as it’s also known as
That last part at 1:47 goes so hard.
i can hear a leitmotif of marx's boss theme at 1:35
I think all the worlds have snippets of corresponding final boss themes or level themes taken from earlier games
@@cielo498 probably, and its really cool!
@@cielo498 I definitely hear Royal Road
There's also a bit of hyness's theme in there at 1:19
This deserves to be called Daylight Capital
i like welcome to wondaria more. idk it just fits very well. although that could be an alternate name
if summer had a theme song, it would be this
Very comforting melody. This has a Mother 3 vibe, probably the organ lol.
The clapping brings it all together so smoothly ☝️😭🥹
This song really reminds me of the Kirby's Return to Dreamland OST. I really loved this game so much, every level was so fun... I really hope this game paves a way for more awesome 3D Kirby titles
Honestly, this might be the true masterpiece of the whole soundtrack alongpside BCPP and NFS. Jun Ishikawa knows how to make Kirby music sound almost wistful and melancholic, and even a bit unsettling when it's necessary.
Now remember...
The Toy Hammer blueprint is in the section with the three wilted flowers. Spray all the mud off of the right part of the platform, then the platform drops to reveal the blueprint and the final wilted flower
Okay, no joke this music reminds me of 102 Dalmatins Puppies to rescue on the PS1. Ooh the nostalgia!
It’s pretty normal for a kirby game to have cute alien civilians locked away screaming for help in a joyful place that once brought happiness apon millions of children’s faces.
1:19 what is moonlight capital doing here
Its a remix of moonlight capital from triple deluxe
Not a direct remix, but heavily inspired by it for sure, especially at 1:19 the leitmotif is directly stolen.
@@Onion_57 i think it is, besides it the only track in the entire ost i can actually remember
The beginning reminds me of star lavadom from star allies
@@poyo6191 :(
@@Onion_57 Both are Jun Ishikawa compositions...
Now that I think about it, I wonder if the sound team was tasked with making references to older music in their compositions...
This song gets in my head when i am in the amusement park
SUCH a BANGER!
damn, i think this is my fav tune of the game
This is one of my favorite songs in any game, period. I will learn that bass riff lol.
Am i the only one that think that this song sounds a bit like Moonlight Capital? Like 1:19
When I first heard this I immediately thought of Snowball Scuffle.
When you hear a bit of moonlight capital
Am I the only one that is reminded of Little Big Planet 2 by this song?
when is Defunctland doing a video on Wondaria
(clap! clap!) Clap 2x
I love this theme!
This music somewhat reminds me of Reef Resort from Kirby Star Allies.
This is my favorite song from the game. Hearing it instantly makes me feel happy.
Best soundtrack in the game imo. So catchy.
I think that honour belongs to King Dedede’s theme. 🙂
Northeast frost street
Damn. I love this soundtrack. It makes me have a smile on my face every time
Yup best world
Happy
Oh my god, I can't be the only one who was thinking, "this sounds just like Nature's Navel" the whole level. I love this song and Nature's Navel so much, and that beginning part especially and whatever instrumentation they used throughout the song is SO familiar.
edit: what the fuck was i talking about. am i insane. what was i thinking
Amazing how it sounds like it could be Kirby 64 yet there’s not a single song like it in Kirby 64. They really understand how to hit that Kirby vibe
Those first metallic beats put me on guard. I thought something from dark kirby lore was gonna jump out here.
I keep seeing all kinds of safety protocol violations in that park, but then I realized it’s an ABANDONED theme park. There are no safety rules!
I love this song
Ducks!
Space pups! 🐶
Good 👍
second favourite world only beaten by britian
This is the best theme of the game. Really made me feel good when playing
I loved the parade things wandering around!
If this isn't played at super nintendo world I am suing nintendo
Sounds similar to the thwomp stage in Mario Party 4. Love it, especially 1:34...
You can't convince me this game didn't take at least a little inspiration from NieR: Automata when it's even got an abandoned amusement park level
Best one, imo
Snowball Scuffle ❤️
The beginning of the song sounds like star lovadom from star Allies.
Wow! Am I hearing Planet Robobot synths and is that a Moonlight Capital from Triple Deluxe remix???
No but it does have letmotif at one point
This song kinda reminds me of „Lava Stardom“ form Kirby Star Allies. It sounds so similar.
I hear both pieces of snowball scuffle from RtDL, and moonlight capital from TD.
Best song by default for moonlight capital inclusion
I love the ear piercing "flute?"
Sounds unsetteling yet funny
what the thats not ear pierceing
@@margiemorrison9190 it almost is to me
3D deluxe anyone?
Kid verse, older sibling verse, Grandfather verse, Father Verse for a short bit, then the Mother Verse. Then the chorus before the loop.
Mario Sunshine called, they want their amusement park and gunk cleanup mechanics back
I was just playing with the ducks at the beginning of the level after returning them to their mom
In addition, I feel like Sakurai is inspired by Fallout 4 since he played that game.
@@EnchantedSmellyWolf Sakurai doesn't work on kirby anymore lol
@@bruxtle who can say and there is a light, hark! Kirby Buffet is next! 🎂
Best ost ever!
I really like this song! Gives me some OMORI vibes

The post game bit is literally just Headspace when you think about it
True
One part of pitch black horror sounds like my time
For some reason, this would not be out of place in a *volcano* level
It sounds like Star Lavadom in some parts…

I feel like Sakurai got inspired from Fallout 4 and Nuka Cola world dlc. Yes he played that game and enjoyed it.
