Love how she gushes over the performance, then casually performs every part off the cuff.

I've been a session musician for 20 years. The first 18 years of my life I was on the road with my dad's vocal band. I have never, ever, ever been as impressed with anyone's analysis like Lolli's. Her communication style is perfectly genuine and her technical mastery is spot on. She is going to inspire loads of great music. If you haven't already and you can, donate to her so we can make sure the world gets as much of this as possible.

Oh my goodness, I’ve been waiting for you to react to this!!! I still go back to your reaction to Hallelujah because no one has ever broken a song down quite like you did on that one 😍

    • @zuzu_cerulean
      @zuzu_cerulean 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

I had never heard of reaction videos before I realized it had been years since I'd seen the video for Hallelujah. I was curious when my search yielded SO MANY VIDEOS. Luckily, I clicked on The Fairy Voice Mother. (I cried right along with Lolli and I also had no tissues nearby.) Finding TFVM first was a blessing and a curse. I wanted to see every video Lolli had ever made, which was an absolute joy. Unfortunately, the bar for other reaction channels was set impossibly high.
I have found about a half-dozen channels that I really enjoy; it just took a lot of time. Out of the thousands of reactors out there, I found the most magical (and to me most cherished) person first! It wasn't xmas, but I'll call it my xmas miracle anyway. 😊

I have never once cringed watching one of your videos, which means either that you are not in fact cringey or we are the same flavor of cringe. 😂 You and @sirhairless are my favorite reactors bc you've both got a perfect combination of genuine, visceral enjoyment of the music and tons of knowledge that enhances my own enjoyment of it. Also, much like Pentatonix themselves, you just keep getting better despite the fact that I think you just can't *possibly* do so. Your earlier videos have a lot of cuts before your demos, which is perfectly fine bc it's like, heck yeah you'd need to practice that, but now there are a fair amount of times that you just go straight from talking to perfectly belting out a demonstration. That "Pro" you put in your titles now is very much accurate and earned. Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks so much for this awesome reaction/analysis!! About Matt...yes...his father is a music pastor, so Matt grew up singing in church. He continued following his music career in college , loved Pentatonix, and entered a competition for their new bass...and got the part. He fits in so well with them all. From the first day working with them, he'd memorized every song they'd done so he knew all the bass parts already.

I love your Pentatonix reactions. I was so excited to see this come up. Thanks for the lovely reaction. As someone else said, Matt is not really the new guy anymore. "Because the worst that you can do is fail".
I'm terrified of failure, always have been, it has completely crippled me my entire life. I've been told this line in one form or another many times before and it never did anything for me.
But for some reason hearing you say that, on this particular day, made me absolutely break down. I think I really needed to hear that today.
The rest of the video was an absolute treat to watch, as always.
    Merry Christmas.

Without fail every reactor goes, “Mitch, what are you wearing?” 😂😂 The answer is not easily defined. He’s a unique spirit, when it comes to clothes. Anyway… thank you for the informative reaction. Your voice is so compelling, impactful and gorgeous. Love how you use it to describe to us what is going on in the arrangement.
As others have said, Matt has a church background with a father who is a music minister. He’s got that gospel soul vibe going on. He and Avi are obviously different in tone and timber. It changes the PTX sound somewhat but Matt brings different gifts to the group. As in life, we adapt and move forward.
Beautiful reaction. My last reaction video before Christmas Day was over was well spent with your channel. ❤️

Thank you SO much for your re-visitation to PTX, Lolli. This video just popped up in my feed, and it means more to me than you could possibly know (especially the end part when you bring up failure being a subsequent component to one’s success). I’ve been a pianist/ vocalist for about 50 years now, and my debilitating spinal stenosis has rendered my left arm quite useless (sucks for me, since I’m a lefty). Your video, however, has served as an unintentional Christmas gift to me, because it’s inspired me to stop feeling sorry for myself and instead figure out how to make these “orchestrations” in my head an audible joy-fest for those who need to hear some love. Merry Christmas, Lolli, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🤘🏾❤️🤘🏾❤️
    Sincerely,
    Kurt

As a newcomer to the channel, I'm finding myself thoroughly impressed, entertained, and educated.
You said to mention how we found you. I like analysis. I've listened off and on now to a couple other music/voice analysis channels, Daily Doug and Charismatic Voice**, and enjoyed them (it was Doug who had me going WTF? when he excitedly pointed out that Pink Floyd had used a sixth chord with an Austrian accent, which I still don't understand).
So the arcane and enigmatic TH-cam algorithms suggested your delightful channel a few weeks ago, and I'm so happy about that bit of good fortune. You bring another level of entertainment to your analysis with your one-offs, asides, quick cuts, highly intelligent commentary, vocal demonstrations, and charmingly coquettish delivery. I think more specifically, I was doing a search for an analysis of some song I particularly like, and you were in the search results.
You asked for suggestions: Child in Time, Deep Purple, 1970 live, with Ian Gillan's unearthly screams. Ball and Chain, Janis Joplin, live at the Monterey Pop Festival, leaving Mama Cass open-mouthed and disbelieving in the audience. Crazy On You, Heart, live 1976, with a lovely and eclectic acoustic guitar intro by Nancy Wilson, following up by Ann Wilson's expressiveness and power belts. Now, these are all old songs, but they are younger than I.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Ms. Wren, and thank you for helping to enrich mine.
**If it's bad form to mention other channels, I apologize. Even in my advanced years, I've never been all that socially astute.

Ok. Newer sub. I’ve seen bunches of your reaction vids and I’m always caught off guard by so many things:
-Editing for the absolute best effects with hilarity, visual sparks and, speaking of sneaking things into a performance, you sneak pops of joy while chatting up otherwise mind boggling music theory. You make it all sooooo fun and palatable. I’d gladly attend any class you ever teach - evahhhh!
-Visceral sprays of astonishment which can be in belches of overwhelm or squeals of glee for a surprise note or key switch.
-And, the most telling positive for me is how often I have recoiled when vocal coaches sing with or demonstrate something in a reaction vid. I don’t know why I recoil with others. It’s not about their ability to sing superbly. But, when you do it, I start to tense (muscle memory) and get confused by actually loving it.
As Robert DeNiro said in Analyze This, “YOU! You got a gift!”
Thanks for tolerating my diatribe. I’m usually quite concise in comments. But, I guess I’m just a huge fan!!! Keep on keeping on and having fun! Yay you!

To me, it shows how much they have grown and matured from their years together, stronger than ever, united all the way. Ok well whatever TH-cam algorithm God’s decided this video was meant to be the first thing I see upon opening TH-cam this morning are now my favorite. Holy hell this breakdown/analysis was so incredibly enjoyable to watch I immediately hit that "like/subscribe" button and I’m pretty picky about who I sub to.
You are a gift!!!! Thank you for making me smile/laugh this morning. It was much needed ❤

Wow! Lolli the one woman Pentatonix! Your voice is amazing and I am always in awe of how much you hear in the videos. I would miss so much that's going on in the background if you didn't reveal it and in such an entertaining way. Thank you once again. PS, still playing your album and loving the actual CD.

I can't think of a better way to watch than with you and your first reaction. It is magical. They are magical. I hope you get to know Matt , the new bass singer , in the near future.
You are such a great music teacher Lolli, but what I love most is the joy on your face when you hear magic.
Wishing the most beautiful Christmas day ever.

I just started following your reactions on TH-cam. Then I went to listen absently, by chance, to your record "To build a sea". 😧 Wow! What record is it? Where did it come from? How wonderful!! I'm 55 years old and it's been years that I've been enchanted like this. But where did you come from!!! Voice, harmony, lyrics, simply wonderful!!! A real pearl.
