Amazing Race: LNER A4 Mallard Vs. LNER A4 Silver Link (Viewer’s Request)

I would like to give a huge shoutout to @Fizz_LizardCaT777 for suggesting this idea!
Today, we have two locomotives of the same class racing each other. LNER A4 Mallard and LNER A4 Silver Link!!!
Silver Link was the very first LNER A4 class locomotive built and is best known for reaching 112.5 mph on her trial run in 1935. Unfortunately, she was scrapped in 1963 despite there being an attempt made to save her.
As for Mallard, she’s best known for being the fastest official steam locomotive in the world, reaching 126 mph on a downhill slope in 1938!
For those who play Trainz Driver 2 and have Silver Link, you should probably know by now that the locomotive in game is rather mediocre in terms of performance. Her acceleration in Easy Mode is godawful but the worst part is that in Realistic Mode, she can’t even surpass 2 mph under her own steam, which I had to do some serious work to combat in this race.
Now if I’m being honest, this race is not my favorite. In fact, it’s probably my least favorite so far because of how much help Silver Link needed to reach the speed she did, which wasn’t even close to her full speed in real life. For those who kept track of how many diesels were pushing Silver Link, I would like to let you know that I also counted the number of diesels, which is around 36. The point of my races is to push locomotives to their limits to see what they’re capable of and at this point, I don’t think I’d even consider this a race.
I’m hoping that someday, the devs will do Silver Link justice and make her better in terms of performance but until then, I’m probably never going to feature Silver Link in a race again. It hurts that I have to exclude my third favorite steam locomotive from any future racing videos.
However, if I get enough requests, I will make a video that focuses solely on Silver Link. It’s just that I won’t feature her in any more races unless she is fixed or a new/better model of her is released.
But with all that ranting done, I want to thank all of you for watching this video anyways. I really appreciate all of you!
