    Love that you showed the recognition of adapting the plan for safety. So important. I agree the Marshall and amount of water on course was excellent. Great video and fab finish line footage 💪🏽

    Great video Chris & well done in that heat, I ran next to Toby for the first couple of miles, I’m the one in the yellow Cats Protection vest, we had a similar pace & it was great to run with him, we finished in about the same time, agree with you the marshals were brilliant.

    Looks like a fun time, despite the heat. That was a good plan for you to adjust your pacing based on the conditions.

    Love how your coaching head came into play Chris and the reality of running in the heat and chasing PB’s. Well called.

    That looks such a good event Fordy and you captured a real community vibe about it - always loving your race day vlogs and this looks a real joy to run!
    Do you think Simon would have marked it down simply because of the heat??? 😂

    • @FordyRuns
      @FordyRuns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep he would have given it a 3 just coz it was warm

    It was a hot one - the hottest that I remember for the Southend Half. I totally agree with you on the organisation, plenty of water stations which were needed. Well run in those conditions!

    Ahh... Here in Singapore, we have to run in 30+ degree Celsius heat and high humidity practically everyday... Love your vlog! 🇸🇬

      And here in England we have something called winter that gets to -6 and then summer that reaches 30-35+ 😂

      Not put down the definiten of hot for our friends from the West.. I'm from the Philippines, South East Asia and ran races in Singapore. Our races are always done at night or early morning at around 12am or 2am cause that's probably when the temperature is down by a little. But so you can imagine what it's like running if we ran in that morning, it would be like 35-38, plus at 80-90 humidity and only a few hours of sleep. Whew. I wish we had better running conditions here to be honest. Wish I could run in the UK someday! :)

      @@FootballHeadScoresWell said!! I have run about 5 or 6 events in Malaysia including two marathons and I have also run the Singapore marathon, and I can honestly say that it breaks you every time because of the humidity, and not because of heat and sunshine .
      I don't think Europeans truly understand humidity of ASEAN country levels because we don't ever have to face it when running here. All I can say is imagine starting a run and then someone coming up to you and putting a hot blanket over your nose and mouth and sucking all the oxygen out of you. It's brutal. I would encourage any European runner to run there just to experience it because crikey, it humbles you!
      Whenever I have been in Malaysia and done an event and seen how massive the running culture is, I often wonder how some of the really good runners there would fare at a European marathon in the autumn like Amsterdam. After running in all that humidity every day, I reckon they would fly round those courses!

    Ran a half marathon a few weeks ago. Collapsed and passed out .75 of a mile from the end when on for a huge PB. Heat can be a real killer
