    Good lord. Heaven forbid a player hug it out with the team mascot after a touchdown.

      What's wrong with that? If it was a cheerleader, then okay, it's a penalty. The mascot is kind of a non-person.

    • @jamesnall7319

      Kev Nguyen Isn't that what every team does every single down? Try to deceive the other team into making a wrong move so they can get another 10 yards or TD? I mean they aren't announcing what plays they are running to the other team for a reason.

      James Nall Right because you are supposed to make sure the defense knows exactly what you are doing. isn't it just ridiculous. I guess they will throw flags on play action passes because those are designed to deceive.

      the refs said trying to device witch means they were saying this isnt the right ball or saying we dont have the right people on the field. if he would have called a actual play there wouldnt be a penalty. it was the right call

    Thank goodness the refs are finally cracking down on the atrocious behavior in college football. Can you believe that some players get excited and like to celebrate a good play?! Fist pumping?! Muscle flexing?! Pointing at the crowd?! They're out of control. It's ridiculous and deserves some sort of penalty. If we allow players to have fun then who knows what awful things will happen next.

According to the rules, a "non-football act" like walking toward the sideline and pretending to talk to your coach is intended to confuse and deceive players by means of something other than a basic football act (such as a flea flicker, reverse, etc...)

    No waving, bowing, praying, no hands up, keep your hands to your side and exit the field immediately, do not celebrate, do not shout and never taunt the other team. You will offend the officials who are paid to punish for such activities unmoral to the world of sports. Most importantly never express happiness on the field. Who is running this, Hittler? or maybe the liberals? Get a grip, learn to relax, it's a game. Too many rules spoils the sport. Too bad.

    - Spike the ball
    - Encourage your fans
    - Celebrate at all.

    That BYU "attempt to deceive" penalty is ridiculous. If that really is the rule, then it's a very stupid rule. Attempting to deceive is part of the whole damn point of football. As a defensive player it's your job to stay alert to everything (as my old coach always said), and if you get fooled it shouldn't be the ref's job to bail you out.

      +Greg E Every play in football is designed with the hope the other team will not be able to guess or be able to properly defend against a play. A WR will do a bench and go to deceive the CB into thinking he is running one way to get catch the ball. Football is a sport of deception and misdirection. That call was dumb.

      When I was in school and playing sports, if anyone on the team did something that got a penalty called, that player would sit out the rest of the quarter, inning, half, or game; depending on what the penalty was for and the severity of the penalty!!!

    • @JAShalvey
      @JAShalvey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Perhaps because the "deception" occurs prior to the snap of the football. All the others that you have mentioned occur AFTER the ball has been snapped.

    • @ImaginaryHuman072889
      @ImaginaryHuman072889 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      good point, but there's still deception that occurs prior to the snap that isn't called a unsportsmanlike conduct. for example, i remember seeing one college play (i think it was michigan state) where the offense lined up like they were running a normal play, but before the snap, they had everyone run off the field and had their special teams run out onto the field, but actually what happened was that only 10 people "traded' positions instead of 11, and one wide receiver stayed in-bounds, and they ran a fake field goal and threw to the wide open receiver (because no one on the defense knew he was even there, they thought he ran off the field)

    • @thecrazycatdad
      @thecrazycatdad 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ImaginaryHuman072889 If you're talking about the michigan game against rutgers, they were actually penalized for that because that's considered a simulated replacement of a player in order to confuse an opponent. Deception prior to the snap that is legal would be like a fake spike, where the qb is making the spike motion and then throws a pass instead of spiking the ball. Georgia tech got away with the fake substitution on a field goal against clemson.

      Most of these calls were rather pathetic. Let players celebrate a good play ffs.

      Because you are supposed to ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE! Its called CLASS. Some of "those people" have no clue what class is.

    This is one of the reasons I don't watch the game I loved at one point. They can't have any fun any more. It's all business. When a NFL QB can play a whole season without getting hurt. You know there is something wrong! Look how long Tom Brady has played. No injuries.

      what's really sad is, watching a game wanting to see people get seriously hurt.

    Some of these calls are just BS. Flipping or diving into the end zone…Spinning the ball…Flexing…Hugging the mascot. Give me a break. Great video. Thanks for the work putting this together.

    Unsportmanlike conduct although overblown on occasion is a good rule. It promotes no being a bad sport or a douche and shows kids that watch not to act like assholes. I play football and it sucks because when a douche does it, theres not much you can do except chirp back and then you get in trouble. I also play baseball and if someone showboats home run or whatnot you simply throw a ball at him to see a message XD. I played and love hockey and thats the best because you can really police your own sport.

      That's the difference with hockey right there. If you don't like someone showboating or celebrating because they crammed a puck up your ass, you go and take care of him! I bet in a few years they're going to make it where if you score a touchdown you're going to have to walk up to each player on the opposing team and apologize. Then if they win, they will have to write a letter to each of their parents and apologize for embarrassing their precious little boy.

      Carter Schoen celebrating a hard earned touchdown makes you a douche? Sorry bud, don't see that logic. Unless the player taunts, makes a remark towards another player, or something like that in his celebration, there shouldn't be a problem.

      John Jean Given that no on scores a touchdown alone, it is a bit douchy when you decided to act like you just accomplished something when it was a team accomplishment.
      Run to the sideline, wait for the O-Line and the rest to get there and do what Washington used to do: do a group high five.
