    Thank you, PJ and Tony. I'm glad to hear that AD is not bending the knee. I knew if we were talking about the original AD, there would be no way they would agree to this. I am so glad that the vision is still as it was before Ilco bought AD. #Lockboss. I feel much better knowing AD is on our side as locksmiths... #Lockboss

    Thank you AD! NASTF booted me and I didn’t appreciate how they ran audit on my company tracking my IP when I was on vacation and my customers needed keys and I shared keycodes with subcontractor. They suggested I make my subcontractors be a W-2 employee or to have someone at shop login and report the form. You can’t do that with a one person shop. And we need vacations. There rules are too
    Strict and it forces extra admin work that I don’t have time for. The positives I’m now more skilled than ever w/o NASTF🎉

    • @coreyh7323

      Yea, I could go out of town and hand my phone over to a trusted locksmith friend, make the necessary steps to get the job done so the customer is serviced. If the customer's car gets stolen, I would be dealing with the police, insurance, lawsuit and reputatiion clean-up, not NASTF. At some point it's all about money.

    I just want to fix cars as a hobby. Flashing modules using j2534 is something I occasionally have to do to get stuff to work. NASFT would put an end to my work, stuff would have to be sent out to the dealer for items like PCM reflashing. I am not going to get licensed, carry insurance, and pay $500 for a login.

    • @Jorge-kn8oj

      Trust me there are alot of us in the same situation. I've been going back and forth with many tool manufacturers and there are options out there. Just have to wait and see who joins first as tool manufacturers and nastf are keeping a tight lip on who is joining and who is not. Meanwhile new aftermarket tools are rolling out in Europe and be here soon that does the same job, that means these big firms are.going to lose a lot of income while some small firm from across the world will make millions in the first few months.

      @IowaLockDoc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @shawncovert751 it'll take a while for all of this to take hold, but my guess is four to five years.
      This is step one. Step two is to verify users to weed out criminal use. Eventually, every time a key is added, all keys lost...whatever, they'll want a record for your service. Name, rank and serial number provided with the VIN and a transaction code and other details (GPS location, etc) before you are allowed to proceed. This way you can be held liable if the duplication is used for unlawful purpose.
      Follow the money and I'm sure you'll find an insurance company and a lawyer in deep conversation.

      The Chinese manufacturer pass-through devices for all the manufacturers, so I assume they will participate.

Yes, those customers with the newest vehicles will have to pay a premium to make up for extra incurred costs, but it will still be far less expensive for them than going back to the auto dealership. I appreciate your perspective. I’m a younger guy, only got into programming and calibrations a couple of years ago. I’ve developed an interest in automotive locksmithing as it is very trade adjacent so it is frightening to see that a monumental change like this is going on just as I’m looking to get started.
      But at the same time due to my age and experience and also lack there of, I feel I have a very progressive outlook on the future of automotive repair and I agree with your perspective. Being educated on Vehicle diagnostics/programming and immobilizer/ security work is a huge opportunity for the people lucky enough to be on the forefront especially with the future of autonomous vehicles on the horizon

      If NASTF is going to go along with this BS then I won't no part of them! Who gives a rats butt if one has insurance or not or even a locksmith license? It's becoming a money pit for someone to sit behind a wall(NASTF) and come up with more stupid rules and then say it's "voluntary". That's a load of BS! I'm not going to carry a million dollar insurance policy because NASTF requires it. It's none of their business if I'm a convicted felon who paid the price and is now out trying to scratch a living. It's none of their business. All this is doing is punishing the law abiding citizen and there will always be the thieves no matter what. The cost alone that NASTF is talking about is utter BS that will have to be passed on to the customer. This sh*t already costs enough. There are certain cars that are being stolen at a higher rate than others so the car companies can fix their own problems. I'm hangning onto my carbureted vehicle and no computer for as long as I can because this crap is going too far!! Let freedom ring!

      Nothing will change for you as far as NASTF goes. Some programmers are going to require a login that you already have. If you don't need any codes you will proceed as normal. If you need a code than the normal D1 needs to be filled out. It's really about which programmers are going to be involved in this. We have 2 Smart Pro's. We have many Autel's also. I am hearing Autel is going to do this. Smart Pro to me is the best programmer out there. It's not our first goto though. We use the Autel's so we don't use a token and this is kind of lazy but the Autels are easier to get out of the case. lol Run run 80 to 150 automotive locksmith calls per week. We are busy so we try and be efficient on every call. We don't even Lishi. We either use a code broker or NASTF if we need a code unless the lock comes out easy and fast.

      This is why we pay for car insurance and this is a result of our justice (injustice) system not doing their job because they are bought off by George Soros. This is a Ponzi scheme by NASTF non governmental organization not elected by the people making decisions for the people. NASTF doesn’t like locksmiths they represent the OEMs and not the people who buy the cars which is their property. Realize this is unconstitutional like a gun registry. Eventually you will be tracked and monitored and back door reported to OEMs to see how much money they are losing in the name of security. Then you will be canceled and locked out of automotive work. Just like the patriot act, nothing patriotic about it. NASTF is from Colorado one of the most liberal states run by crooks. Enforce the current laws that are actually constitutional.

    Let's face it, nearly anyone can be a programmer. With little to no training, nearly anyone can program another key. No offense to Billy (Ian) and Lily, they can do it, and it shouldn't be a complicated process to program a key. But it's just as easy for the criminals to do it too.
    Money talks, and when insurance companies talk to manufacturers and theft deterrence is mentioned and analyzed, they talk about stuff like this.
    Everywhere you go, the big brother approach prevails. Who are you, why do you need access, prove you are who you say you are.
    I'm guessing that it is ultimately the goal to verify users. And if Ilco/AD want to receive manufacturers information necessary to make programmers...in exchange, they will need to put in some type of user authentication protocols that safeguard the programmer tool from being used for nefarious purposes if stolen.

This could be done via email and then the many wouldn't have to pay a completely separate entity money for the bad acting of the few... • @PM-mh3hz
      @PM-mh3hz 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sounds like communism. We come so far from our founding father’s definition of property rights. OEMs want to control a citizens right to property after the citizen paid for a vehicle. They need to get back to servicing the people not tread on peoples right. Don’t forget service is where they make most of their money. This is a sneaky way for OEMs to increase their quarterly earnings. Any aftermarket programmer who wants to go along with NASTF will be put out of business due to boycott. So try it and see what happens. 😢

    Now, all mechanics and techs in the field have to own their own business and carry their own insurance to work in the car industry. So a shop that has 20 workers now is going to have 20 small businesses working for him. I know you're going to say they all don't need it just one and go from car to car to do the pin process and I'll do it for 10x the pay. Ridiculous rule. If nastf really wanted to do good it would open the application for everyone regardless of business status. Nastf gets 10,000+ applications runs background check on all some will fail but nastf keeps the money regardless, now everyone that was approved is being watched, simple and effective way to make revenue and keep an eye on things and also could do a yearly background check instead of the 2 years, what's $500 a year for us to have access and be in good standings and traceable.
