- Its time for a side series! Perfect Sequels is going to be a new series being done alongside Review The PS2 where we take a look at PS2 games that outperform their predecessors in every single way. If you have candidates for potential perfect sequels be sure to drop them in the comments!
To introduce this series I decided to do Zone of the Enders and its sequel, The Second Runner, since it should be really easy to look at how a mediocre near-launch PS2 game can be improved in major ways. The first game isn't bad, it's just underdeveloped in its mechanics and its sequel just happens to outshine it in every conceivable way.

Capcom Franchise not 3 and infinite because those twooooo are ugly!, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Vs. Street Fighter, SVC Chaos, Final Fight Street Wise, Beat Down, Shadow Of Colossus, Rygar, Mark Of Kri and Legend Of Legaia: Duel Saga.
Zone of Enders 2 is a masterpiece and completely underrated
Never played ZOE1 but wow the character is a lot like shinji from evangelion
Yup but actually badass and gets inside the mech XD
5:56 it was not a polished game, the Zone Of The Enders is what it should have become The Zone Of The Enders The 2nd Runner. It should have been made like the first sequel. BUT I DISAGREE TO YOU SAYING NOT WORTH PLAYING! It is just an Okay to good game because it was a new concept when it was released. Fans saying that it was a bad game are just TOOOOO NIT PICKY!

The DMC example isn't really a good example. That was capcom taking the ip from the hands of the original devs and handing it to a completely different that had no idea what the original was and telling them to make a game. As a matter of fact that's why DMC3 was soo good. The DMC2 team that was left learned from their mistakes and really wanted to make the game justice. So with some of the creators from the first game coming together to create DMC3.
I don't know if I'd call the first batch of .hack games sequels, they feel more like one big episodic game
