It's sad that her real hands were used for killing. But her prosthetics allowed her to start a new life of helping others. Through loss she also gained something.
This is one of the greatest if not the greatest Anime’s ever to be created. Visually just absolutely stunning. The music moves you in ways that are both subtle and grandiose. The sheer emotions that the Voice actors pour into their parts is gut wrenching at times and total inescapable joy in others. The relationships and the journey of not just the main character but many of the side characters is masterfully shown. I recommend this Anime to everyone and I strongly suggest you bring tissues. I’m a guy and I lost track of how many times I cried, smiled, laughed, and reflected. And when I say I cried. Deep sobs. This is storytelling at its finest.
Hi Father Roderick, I'm new to your channel. Thank you for your unique perspectives! Violet Evergarden is one of my all-time favourites. Although Violet's growth and journey form the overall story arc, it was the individual stories of each customer that I found equally captivating. This a post-war society with fresh optimism, but also struggling to come to terms with loss, pain and suffering. Almost every episode featured a different customer struggling to overcome grief or hardship of some kind. These are probably the sorts of things a community priest would be dealing with! It would be interesting to hear your perspective on some of these 'cases'
@@fatherroderick-anime I look forward to seeing your choices and perspective! The 2 movies are also wonderful, but perhaps too lengthy for a commentary. If you ever have time to just watch them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
1:54 hmmmm makes sense really like the emotions in violet evergarden are so damn pure especially at the episode for the author for his story and the mother for her daughter the emotions are so good
😳… this is a clear definition of Anime as a distinct form of storytelling. It’s instructive, (the typing job) and the main character is in the narrative- growing through the use of her fingers. 🤔 Books do this all the time, but anime… it is more like books than any other form. It abbreviates narrative into pictures. Like a fairy tale’s illustrations. I’ll ad it to the list.
You know the anime reviews are good (and spot on!) when an old agnostic like me subscribes to a channel of a man of the cloth... 😂 Maybe it's because the reviews are about the human values 👍
I think you need more explanation than this. The heavy drama of the anime is way beyond than modern day anime drama. Its like old school drama anime like clannad, plastic memories etc. those animes made me cry even though im a guy. Then it started me to realise anime is more than BDZ, Bleach, Naruto and of course One Piece.
@@fatherroderick-anime anime taught me many lessons. Even some cutesy anime like K On has it. It showed me the importance of not having you need to grow up. It taught me that you will grow up no matter what you do. Sorry kinda late and my migraine is acting up.
10 year letter episode still hits hard
I just finished Violet Evergarden, and it quickly found a place in my heart with its sincere story and feelings. I absolutely loved it!
Two genres of my life i never thought would collide, this is awesome!
The best of both worlds 😄
Finding this channel brought me a lot joy. Im glad to see priest's being people and enjoying small things in life. I hope you have a great day father!

Everything about this anime is so beautiful. Especially the soundtrack which was also by Evan Call, the composer for Frieren.

Indeed, that's what I like so much about the anime stories I'm discovering. They are often about universal values, struggles and emotions.
Do you guys think he would do Berserk?

I absolutely love this anime, it’s second ONLY to Attack on Titan.
Wow, that's high praise, since Attack on Titan is amazing.
