Problem with all-inclusive is that, to get your money's worth - you basically cannot leave the hotel (or else you will miss meals)

Not really correct though. Like they said here, by the time you’re left with what you pay for food, it’s £45 for 7 days - £6.42 per day. Now, a pint of beer/lager in Marmaris averages around £2-£3. So if you have 2 pints per day, one with lunch and one with your dinner in the evening, that means you have to get any other drinks (tea/coffee/soft drinks) plus meals, for under £2.42 per day for it to be more cost effective to not go All Inclusive.

    • @kingcobra851
      @kingcobra851 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

@@NJTRAF they said £45 per day, not £45 for 7 days.
but the way they have compared is not correct, first they added up wrong it was £54 for the stuff they showed (taxi costs isn't included in all inclusive and 99 percent of the time there is restaurants next to or within 5 min walk of hotels by the nature of tourism) and that was for both of them (showed in the last part they were adding two meals and two wines to get £40, so the other prices can only be assumed to be the total costs for both) so they spent £54 pound out of a £90 daily budget (they said the total costs for holiday were per person)
they also didn't buy equivalent food compared to all inclusive, you can get local food and drinks for cheaper, you can also buy food and drink in to cook in your hotel which would bring the prices down even more.
all inclusive vs self catering is never about the price either way, all inclusive is just for convenience and mostly for people who don't really want to leave the hotel and spend there holiday around the pool or using just the hotel facilities.
If you also want to explore the locations or food outside the hotel and have all inclusive, then the costs vs is just massively in favour of self catering

It depends on the all-inclusive. I went to one on my honeymoon that was tiny - I think about 20 people were there. The food was amazing and they would pack you lunches if you wanted to go out and about to explore. You would need to take taxis if you wanted to go elsewhere for dinner, so easier to stay on the resort for dinner. Loved it. Recently tried another out - huge resort and the food was too 'samey'. We won't do a big resort again. I do like bed and breakfast types of places so you can ease into the day, have what you like and then get to explore the places nearby in the evening.

For me (especially with young kids) it’s an absolute hassle trying to find somewhere to eat 3 meals per day if you leave the hotel. If you stay in the hotel for almost all meals you might as well have gone all in.
We go all inclusive and make sure there are at least 4-5 restaurants so it’s not too repetitive. Then we can just eat as and when without planning. So much easier to roll down to breakfast, all eat then you can hit the pool with the kids.
We buy convenience and if you stay in nice places you always get good food in most of their restaurants even if one or two isn’t the best.

A think the value of all inclusive, or any sort of catering plan isn't necessarily that it's cost affective, because that's a rabbit hole that ends with eating ramen out of a cup in your hotel room and everyone lands where they are comfortable with after a while. The value is that you know you can stroll up to the bar or cafe, get whatever you want from the menu you've bought into, and not think about it past that. It's a suspension of having to deal with food and drink beyond let's try this or that

Only if you want to be surrounded by beer bellies and people who just don’t know how to behave on foreign soil.
    Also sunbed wars.
Get yourself a flight separate and research your hotel - read reviews and reverse image your hotel to see if you can get it cheaper on another site. Remember 5 star isn’t the same everywhere. Research what matters to you

If you want to stay in the hotel and be lazy then all inclusive is for you but most people go out and see the country they are staying watermarks, shopping centres, markets, historical and beauty spurs etc so you will miss meals etc so all inclusive is a waste of money plus your restricted to their meal times

3 weeks in Tunisia cost me less than that for Feb 2025. Islamic AI is worth the money. I am t-total so alcohol is off the agenda.

Not really a good way ti break it down. You would leave your hotel regardless, and likely eat at other resturants every day anyways.

They cost more and make you feel obligated to eat and drink there. Instead of just going to local places that are much better and don't just make English food
