Wow I have never seen Anna Lee this younger before. The first time I saw her was in the movie Sound of Music, but I didn't know it at the time. I really got to know her from watching the soap opera General Hospital were she played Lila Quartermaine.
If you want to see her much younger watch the movie How Green Was My Valley. John Ford directed won the Oscar for director. It has Roddy McDowell as a little boy and Maureen O'hara at her most beautiful and best performance. If you like old movies and dont mind black and white movies. Check it out
This show has a vaguely similar format to The Liar's Club (1969) hosted by Rod Serling. The contestants were shown an object and the panel would tell what it actually is, one was true. That show is extinct except for two episodes. I remember watching that show every morning before school.
It's odd that John Daly just asks guests after the first one if they are familiar with the way the game is played, while for years on What's My Line? he would explain the scoring to every guest. That said, he was a great host for game shows. Many thanks to Gary for all the work you have done posting this and WML.
This would have likely have been a live show and filmed via kinescope recording during broadcast (usually for West Coast replays and archives). Some time later in the 1960s on, these kinescopes were transferred to videotape for archival purposes - of which you are watching a copy of.
John Daly had such a great voice! He was a good moderator as well! Thanks for the post! Fun show!
i guess it's quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Tatum Raul meh try Flixportal. Just google for it=) -luis
@Luis Orlando thank you, I went there and it seems to work :) I appreciate it!
@Tatum Raul happy to help xD
This reminds me of NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me on radio and podcast today in 2023.
June Lockhart is still around at 99 years old (9/1/24).

This was an enjoyable treat.
Interesting that this format is still used weekly on NPR ' S "Wait, Wait, don't tell Me."

That first contestant almost cursed when she got the first story wrong. This isn’t a bad game show. John Daly is the best game show host of all time

8:08 Fascinating !
Turn up the volume!
this looks like the early version of "would I lie to you?"
What’s interesting is the talk of ufo’s
Mr. John Charles Daly was a very busy moderator. I only knew about What's My Line.
Anna Lee was Sister Margaretta in The Motion Picture "The Sound of Music"
She also played Lila Quartermain on General Hospital.
All the way with Adlai!
Martha Stewart turned 11 on this day.
nice! wonder if these episodes were captured directly on film or broadcast live and preserved on tape or kinescope. all possible answers appreciated.

MUSICOM PRODUCTIONS ok thanks.
Video tape was first used commercially in 1958.
