Bombardier Mark III (Innovia Metro 300) sound comparison: rapidKL and Vancouver SkyTrain

- Here's a motor sound comparison of the Bombardier Mark III (Innovia Metro 300) operated by rapidKL Kelana Jaya Line and Vancouver SkyTrain Expo Line. As you can see, both versions are virtually identical but what sets them apart are the different linear motor sounds. It's a little strange that the same train model has different motors, but since I'm not an expert on that anyone who has more knowledge about the motors can contribute in the comments. The rapidKL version is at 0:18, Vancouver at 0:48.
The rapidKL was filmed on 26 May 2017, and the Vancouver SkyTrain was filmed on 8 December 2017. This is also a sneak preview of what I have filmed in Vancouver so far, and I have a video of the ride on the Mark III between Lougheed Town Centre and Metrotown uploaded as soon as I have more time.
The Bombardier Innovia Metro is a family of linear motor powered fully-automated metro trains, originally designed by UTDC and now produced in three versions, Mark I, II, and III.

You should see set 85, coach 2 of the Innovia Metro 300 in Kuala Lumpur. It tends to make the sounds the ART 200s used to make for some reason.
Apparently Bombardier also sells the same Mark III with conventional motors as well.
Actually, Herb Fong, I am the person that ran the TH-cam channel Lower Mainland Transportation that commented on this video a while earlier, so this video is actually very interesting, Bombardier tested RapidKL's Metro 300, but RapidKL wanted to make it's own interior and the whole entire train was an experimental test train and the train's interior was made by RapidKL while Vancouver's SkyTrain Metro 300 interior, is completely designed by Bombardier, everything from the seats and the overhead displays. Just wanted all the Transits Fans know, or if they already knew...Great comparisons video!
They should built more of those artificial automated rapid transit subway systems in the USA too
I know about the trains in KL. When RapidKL (actually the owner is Prasarana) ordered the train, Bombardier (the supplier) delievered it in scratch, so RapidKL technician team done the assembly of parts, coach, display etc2 including the linear motors into the train. Hence the different linear motor sounds.

Vancouver's Skytrain was also assembled by subcontractors not related to bombardier.

it was caused by the grinded rail. When a stretch of rail were grinded, it will make a high pitched sound when the train wheels speeds through

I don’t think the trains are making different sounds, I think it’s more of the station acoustics that make them sound different.
No, they make different sounds. For some reason the rapidKL trains make the same sound as Vancouver's early Mark II trains. The newer Mark IIs make the same sound as the Mark IIIs.

Oh. It thought it was a four car. It looks like a four car. Car 2 and 3 looks connected to each other. Also, the Mark II actually looks really different to a Mark III.
The RapidKL Mark lll has a similar sound as the Mark ll in Vancouver, anyways RapidKL sound a little better

@@naturallyherb I commute using the Vancouver one, and during a vacation to Malaysia I got to experience the RapidKL. I can say they feel almost the same

I filmed it in both Kuala Lumpur and Vancouver. Both rapid transit systems here uses the same train models and technology.
The mk1 cars have the best sound.
