Hi guyss, if you, like me, didn’t like to cut the yarn and make a knot every time you switch color, but you also didn’t want to do it like the tutorial… try the Russian knot! It’s not that difficult and makes the transition very smooth. There are a lot of explanations on TH-cam about how to make a Russian knot, hope that helps someone as much as it helped me ☺️

You can also carry your yarns up the side by working over the extra one on the ch1 before you turn. It kinda twists them together so they stay neat and you can work over them super easy when rounds start.

Hi! Hmmm, is it more crooked than mine? Mine is pretty slanted already, but I don't mind how it looks! If you want to make it less slanted, you could try doing double crochets instead of half-double crochet! And instead of 3 rows tall for each square, just do 2 rows. Hope this helps!! 💖
You just need to skip the parts where she changes colour, you just carry on with the same colour. Meaning, when she switches to green e.g. you would skip the bit where she changes colour, but still copy the same pattern, Sorry if this is a lil' confusing 😅

Hello! I'm so glad you like the design! 9 chains to start off would be perfect! I would probably do 8 HDC then: 4 in one color, 4 in your other color. Then just repeat that row for as tall as your book spine is (changing colors as necessary). I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions! 💖
whenever im working in rounds i usually slip stitch+ch1 and start the next one but it really depends on the pattern. idk if slip stitching and chaining 1 has an effect on the final look of the project but as long as it looks right and yk where your round starts/ends, i dont rlly think it matters imo 🤷♀️

@@pineapples3235 yes you can! most projects worked in rounds are meant to be flipped inside out, either while youre making it or at the end. At the end of the day its up to you and what you think looks good :)

Hello question here, can I do more than 5 chains at the beginning? Because the chain I'm going for is based on my book thickness. If so, then is the row still 3 or I need to add more according to my book?
Yes, if you wanna keep it as squares vs rectangles you would need more rows. So with hdc, you wanna chain one more than the number of sts you want, then you want your tried in each color to be one less than the number of sts across. I hope that makes sense. Example: If book is 10ch wide, ch11, hdc 10 sts for 9 rows. 🙂

It's normal for crochet to kind of spiral up, but won't be noticed in a solid color. To fix it, you can put the cover on your book and kind of stretch the squares into shape.

You could chain 6 or 7 at the beginning instead of 5 and work with more stitches throughout your project (aka 5 or 6 hdc instead of 5), the rest of the pattern stays pretty much the same, you’ll just have to change colours in whichever stitch is your last etc. Hope that helps!

You could chain 6 or 7 at the beginning instead of 5 and work with more stitches throughout your project (aka 5 or 6 hdc instead of 5), the rest of the pattern stays pretty much the same, you’ll just have to change colours in whichever stitch is your last etc. Hope that helps!

Personaly to keep it as a square ive made 4 row of 6 hdh for each color and then just follow the pattern that she have done
