Pike’s Peak RV Park Review - Manitou Springs-Colorado Springs I WAS TOLD TO STOP FILMING

  • Pike’s Peak RV Park is located at 320 Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs, right near the border of Colorado Springs. When we were planning our trip and considering staying here, I first checked their website, but it definitely lacks a LOT of information! Our visit was in October 2023.
In regard to “Peak Season” or “Off Season” (because this affects RATES and their HOURS), the website uses these terms but doesn’t say when they are. I called to ask:
    “When is Non-Peak Season?”
Female Employee: “Around now to June 1st” (The day of my call was Feb. 2024, so presumably “now” would be Feb.)
Me: “So Peak Season starts June 1st? When does it end?
    Employee: “Around October”
Me: “So Non-Peak is June to October?”
    Employee: “Uh, August/September”
I’m still confused. I have a feeling she was the same employee who told me I couldn’t film.
I’m so glad the GM Cheryl talked with us as we were packing up (as described in the video) because it really ended our stay on a happy note! It really is a GREAT location, close to Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Colorado Springs, Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods (and more), and also really beautiful. I also told her that before our visit, my online search actually turned up a lot of negative stuff, including here on TH-cam, so I was hoping maybe I could help balance that out by making this video.
    A Few More Details:
    • Guests of the RV Park of the RV Park have FREE ACCESS to Manitou Springs Pool & Fitness Center next door, although we didn’t have time to use it. Again, website is confusing…the FIRST pic you see under “Park Amenities” is of a swimming pool. It’s not until you read the bullet points that you realize there’s no pool at the park. I’m not sure they mean to be misleading, it’s just really bad design.
    • E-Bike Rentals (website gives pricing information)
    • Small camp store
    • Their website has a tab for “Park Map” but the map isn’t posted there 🤷‍♀️ so be sure and take a screenshot of the one in the if you’d like.
    • The website says they have 2 dog runs, though we only saw and used one. Maybe just missed it.
    • Creekside sites (by the road, lots of traffic, but it wasn’t too loud) are full hookup with 30 amp. At first I thought maybe these Creekside sites were for smaller rigs, but I saw plenty of larger rigs there too (i.e., site sizes vary)
    • Trailside sites (back section) are full hookup with 30 or 50 amp.
    • They categorize their sites as follows: Mini-Peak (RV Length range 21-28 ft), Great Peak (29-36 ft) and Grand Peak (37-40 ft).
    • Free Wifi
