Dreamy images and we enjoyed crunching along with you! Making the wise decision to turn back was a good story within the story and great lesson for others.
Thanks Juanita! There were no doubt in our minds that heading into that valley at that time was a bad idea. The wind actually got worse the following night and the day after so we made the right choice :)
Another fine piece of storytelling and video, and the images were exceptional. I especially liked the lone tree in the setting sun,and the last shot...looking forward to the next one!
Beautiful! Wonderful video, Oddbjørn. The landscape shots at the end were particularly great! I'm glad you got the opportunity to photograph some oxen on the third day then :)
Many thanks for the kindness! Yeah, on the third day we really struck gold! Got really lucky finding a few oxen in the blizzard :) a fantastic experience, I will never forget it :)
Great adventure, Bjorn, with a good bunch of photographer friends. You had a number of excellent shots but I think my favorite muskox shot was the vertical crop with the tall mountain in the background and the muskox in the foreground. I love it when I find an image that can be presented as a 9x16" vertical format in that manner.
'Robust, stoic ghosts' - brilliant phrase. I looked up "Fjellvettreglene" and it is very sound, I have used rule 8 on several occasions so I am still here to tell my tales. Some great pictures there, I look forward to part 3.
It’s a great bag for sure! Can’t wait to break it out on a longer hike 🙂 thanks for the kind words, and that squirrel is actually my wife’s hat 😂 I’ll let her know! Take care mate!
Thank you oddbjorn for sharing part #2 of your adventure. I do like the advice number #8.... don't be afraid to turn back. This may save your life to try another day. I'm looking forward to episode #3. PS: I see you use an F-Stop backpack, which model do you use? Cheers from Australia, where we often complain about being too warm in summer that ranges from 30 - 40+ degrees C !! I would rather be in a cold place and put on more layers LOL!
Thanks for that Phil! We made the right choice. The wind got worse throughout the night and the next morning it was a storm up there! I bought the Shinn modell. 80 liters. I’m planning using it on longer hikes, carrying tents and all the other equipment :) at those temperatures you’re allowed to complain a little :) haha!
Wonderful story Oddbjorn. Had me captivated and I’m looking forward to the next episode 😊👍
Thanks as alway Julian! :)
Your dream shot is killer! Well done and the snowscapes up there too.
A great adventure and a joy to watch, thanks.
Thank you Andrew! Very kind words 🙂 walking home in the northern lights with that photograph on the memory card was a good feeling!

Thanks as always Neil! Very kind :) looking forward to piece together the next one!

"robust and stoic goats" .... you, indeed, are the man! you inspire me, you really do.
Haha :) Many many thanks Marshal! Very kind of you :)
Magnificent episode Oddbjørn! The killershot with the pink sky at 5:27 looks unreal, an absolute stunner!
Thank you very much Hans. I certainly thought it was a dream when the pink sky started to appear! Can’t really ask for more :)
Oh, and that shot with the pink sky…..absolutely beautiful 😍
Conditions you can only dream about 🙂 thanks again!
No walk or photograph is worth getting into trouble for. I've turned back many times. That aside, the rawness of that landscape is striking. :-)
True! Same here, not the first nor the last time I’ve turned around :) when it’s windy and cold, Dovrefjell is simply outstanding and beautiful!
Fantastic wild frozen Norway!! 🇳🇴 thanks for your video
My pleasure! Glad you liked it :)
Really nice video and storyline. I am looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe, mate
Thank you very much John! Stay safe as well :)
Always look forward to your adventures and of course your photography is breathtaking. Always great videos
Thank you very much!
Veldig fin video. Godt produsert og fin historiefortelling. Og ikke minst fine bilder.
Ser frem til flere flotte videoer fra deg.
Tusen takk for det Terje! Veldig snilt sagt av deg :)

Thanks for that Clifton! Yes! I kinda liked that one myself :)

Haha! I actually said goats, not ghosts. But, seeing them under a blanket of snow they looked like ghosts :) thanks for the kind words Keith :)
@@oddbjrnaustevikfoto I'll stick with ghosts as more enigmatic. Great video thanks.
Fantastisk film, du var nærme👏👍
Tusen takk skal du ha :) vi fikk komme litt innpå ja, men vi møtte tilfeldigvis på en offisiell guidet tur og var der den gruppen var! :)
Great work Bjørn. Your art is superb.
Thanks for that Miguel! :)
F Stop. Great choice 👍 Great story telling as always. You also got some nice captures. Not sure about the squirrel you used for the mic wind muff😬
It’s a great bag for sure! Can’t wait to break it out on a longer hike 🙂 thanks for the kind words, and that squirrel is actually my wife’s hat 😂 I’ll let her know! Take care mate!
Had to look up Norwegian Mountain Code online. Since Im old and weak I already follow it🙂. Loved your shots. Cant wait until the next episode!
Thanks for that Wildeone! Hehe! Good rules to know none the less 🙂 thanks again!
Love these videos. Great sense of adventure and sensible advice 😀
Thanks for that Andrew! Appreciate the kindness :)
Have to appreciate the effort that you put into making these videos , especially in those conditions. A pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing!
It was a bit of a struggle I’ll admit! But all worth it in the end :) thanks for watching!
I'm very proud to see the Panaleica 100-400 in action in such harsh enviroment! It's my main lens and I was longing to know someone else using it!
I bought it a few months back after using the 100-300 for a few years. Such a huge upgrade. I love the lens :)
Amazing.
Thank you Paul!
Cool photos and wise decisions!
Thank you very much! I'm glad we turned around, given that the weather only became worse!
So hard to turn around from your goal. Well done guys.
Many thanks Sean! We definetly made the right choice. It became worse throughout the night and the next day it became a storm :)
