If someone Says music speaks to them, then they have listened to Kim, So Hyang. When Kim, So Hyang Sings it is not
Like she is sing to All or Everyone in the Audience, it is Like she is Speaking to You and only You. A One on One
conversion. She cares about Her Message, she is a True Storyteller. She wants you to have comfort and Know that
God Hears You, and that She will carry that Message for you. Kim, So Hyang was sent to Us from Above be it the
heavens or whatever you Believe she wants you to know You are Not Alone, and you are Loved.
You will notice when She smiles at you it is Love, and you are about to go on a Journey.....so Hold On Cause there

This is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my life, and I still can’t believe she did it while having pneumonia. Even if somebody thinks this arrangement is “gratuitous”, you got to admit the emotions are there as well as the voice. This is absolutely beautiful.
For me, it's the best version of You Raise Me Up. I don't understand the idiots who say she ruined this song. 😩

As Most Know She learned English as a Child from Disney Movies, which inspired her to Write two of her
Books...(both Published and there are many more). And is Working on a 3 piece ScreenPlay Of Her Life and Music
Kim, So Hyang's vocal type is a Full Lyric Soprano. Her showcased vocal range spans
from D3 to A6 (consistent supported range from G♯3 to E6),a total of three octaves,
three notes and a semitone. According to So Hyang, the highest note she can sing is
an E♭7. This means that she has an overall range of approximately four octaves and
one semitone. However, this range hasn't been showcased to its fullest extent yet,
as the highest note she has publicly showcased is A6.
If I am right She just turned 43 (and only better) She has a little bit darker timber now....But Sounds AMAZING
She was suffering from severe pneumonia this day. I thought about giving up because I had phlegm in my throat and had a high fever and no voice.She prayed earnestly to God.Take some painkillers and give yourself strength for the last performance.Eventually, she was not seen on the air for a year with the end of the song.And a year later, he came back to us with a program called Begin Again.

A great performance by Sohyang once again but she was actually sick in this performance & had been told by the doctor she shouldn’t perform as she hadn’t yet recovered from her latest bout of pneumonia. Not wanting to let the audience down she went ahead & performed anyway. As a long time fan of Sohyang I can see that she looks really tired & like she’s lost some weight from her face & tbh I think that as good a performance as you’re likely to anywhere, there was something missing, it just lost a little Sohyang magic for me & if she put out this performance when she’s ill, what would it have sounded like if she’d been 100% well?
The guy the camera kept going to is Shane Filan who is the lead singer of the Irish band Westlife who had a massive hit with their version of this song all over Europe.

He stated how much He Loved what she had done with the song, and hoped to sing with her one day.
Also a side note...because of singing (which no one could stop her) this night was back in the hospital

She made it her own. Such power. BYU Vocal Point's cover is more traditional, but still very powerful. And both their versions of "Nearer My God To Thee", the A Capella and the virtual choir, are also great.
FoA, TY for your reaction. That performance is in 2014. It is a real incredible thing that her performance is perfect until now. Lately, she had sung "Lean on me" again on Yeolin-eumakhoe(열린음악회) in August 2021. In 2014, she had sung at first. If you hear, i swear you have goosebumps.
Great reacts Brad! Sohyang and her voice was overwhelming with her motions and passion. This was something special.
You really need to react to her song Stay from her comeback set (most recent album). You want the Beginagain version (Begin Again). They do it in what amounts to a redecorated farm shed (not heated and it's COLD). While some of the song is in English most is in Korean and there are no English subtitles at this time to this version. You and your fiance really need to experience the one I mention. I don't care if you react to it, don't get me wrong, I hope you do, but you need to feel it. You'll understand.
Oh, yeah, did anyone even bother counting the # of modulations / key changes in this? She just kept on climbing and climbing. Her ceiling must be heaven itself.
Her modulations go perfectly with the lyrics. No one has ever brought that up.
