These stories are so important to hold and pass down to our next generations. I remember watching Ms Lester on Little House on the Prairie. Even as a young child I recognized an air of dignity about her.
I remember growing up seeing Miss Lester in commercials, movies and TV shows. She gave a memorable performance as the ill-fated cabbie in the movie Blacula. She was very scary as a vampire. She also played a former girlfriend of Lamont on Sanford & Son. Another talented performer who should have gotten the recognition she deserved. God bless you, Miss Lester. Keep on keepin' on. 🎶
"Love Letters" as sung by this True Queen--best version of this wonderful song EVER!!!--has resonated in my heart & soul since the first time I heard it, way back then. Some music never gets 'old'. THANK YOU, dear lady. 🌟💓🎶💓🌟
I am such a huge fan of hers, white gay dude from the UK, haha. She is utterly beautiful and that voice! I was mesmerised by 'Love Letters' the first time I heard the late pianist Beegie Adair perform it and ended up discovering Ketty on TH-cam. It soon dawned on me that I'd grown up watching her on Little House On The Prarie! What a versatile and ridiculously talented trail-blazer. I know this is very shallow of me, but I can't believe she still looks THIS GOOD ! Her bone structure, her lack of wrinkles or fat. Sure, she has white hair... but some hair dye and some mascara and I imagine she'd look like she was in her 50s. Anyway, I am so grateful to THV11 for uploading this. Until a few years ago, there was very little of Ketty on TH-cam - this recent video of her has made my day!
I'm watching Ms. Lester right now on my #1 show, "Sanford and Son." Absolutely gorgeous then and now! And she's sharp. So glad I decided to look her up and find this most worthy piece on her 😻❤!
This song was turning around in my head all day today for some reason a great song son with so much emotion and feeling it should surely have won a Grammy award it is a classic
Bless her heart ❤ From Sanford And Son, to Blacula, to Little House On The Prairie, and to House Party 2, I have been watching this fantastic woman perform. I wish her much more continued happiness and success 💕💕💕
A fabulous story and what a beautiful woman and gifted singer. My Uncle Stan had Ms Lester's song Love Letters played at his funeral in Brisbane, Australia a few years back and I remembered it playing on the local radio. Now I've seen this short document I know why. Should have received the Grammy for the best record of the year at year. God bless Ms Lester.
I watched her on Little House on the prairie I did not know all this about her until I seen this on TH-cam wow what an amazing person wonderful singer absolutely beautiful inside and out I was so amazed to see this video about her I loved her so much and Little House on the prairie but to see this video kind of threw me off I was like oh my goodness I adore her sending so many hugs and so many kisses her way I wish her the very best in life she's amazing person
I learned the word imbecile from Miss Lester! She called Blacula an imbecile in the movie with the same name and he immediately bite her. I still use this word today. Thanks Miss Lester. Such a beautiful lady.
Blessing to her I felt in love with her when I grew up watching little house on the prairie as a kid when my mom showed me the show for the first time ❤❤❤❤🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
After all these years, you have provided confirmation that indeed, that was Ketty Lester who portrayed Hester Sue on Little House on the Prairie. I loved that character, and really loved her song Love Letters!
Who knew😁 Kid’s Aunt in House Party 3. I watched “Uptown Saturday Night” and notice her immediately. Only to find out she was a vocal powerhouse doing some research. She was oh so beautiful then and Still beautiful now‼️💙💐💯 A Legend who deserves her flowers.
Classy lady! Shame she’s only interviewed in February. One generation removed from slavery, it’s mind boggling that some people alive today actually met slaves. Never forget!
Stories of entertainers being financially cheated wasn't uncommon amongst inexperienced and black artists. The idea of her hit song achieving global success and not reaping the reward is shameful. However, it's wonderful that she continued in hry craft achieving success and still active. I hope her financials exceeded previous withholdings. May God continue to richly bless her diligence and health!🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Her version of Love Letters is special, really special, but remember that Lincoln wrote the sublime piano licks and Victor/Young the lyrics. And others the ensemble arrangement. Takes many to tango
and her voice and tempo made it unique and will live on for decades as it has...even elvis with his perfect pitch couldn't quite replace who that song "belonged" to when he sang Love Letters.
miss Lester, your album Love Letter travelled the world with me as a merchant seaman. I have loved all of those tracks (they were my best friends ) and I remembered every word ! of the love stories of the tracks. Needless to say, the tracks I associated with my fiance, of the day. in the UK , but I often wondered WOW If I ever met the beautiful misS Lester .................phew ..SO I have a question. Would it be possible in this day and age to meet my idol from the 60's ? If so, I would do whatever to fulfill my dream xxx
Ketty Lester guesting on "You Bet Your Life" with Groucho Marx, telling an amusing story about how she abandoned studying to be a nurse after an anatomy class encounter with a corpse... She also sang on the show. th-cam.com/video/pwqUqkV9wlY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4BSoNCdDa5W13zeQ
Such a great singer and actress. She was wonderful in Little House in the Prairie.

Ketty Lester is so unsung, so underrated, and so unappreciated.
