Ah the great Andy Bassford! He has played with virtually everyone. A natural man always down to earth and never trying to be anything else. Big respect!
And there's sort of an eloquence and clarity in the way he answers questions that make the interview really interesting, not some interviewee who would provide half baked, erratic responses. And yes..great credit to the interviewer too. Bless..!!!
@@lawrencenjawe1935 Right...some people are naturally good story tellers and can really hold their audience...Andy has this quality and it helped that the interviewer asked intelligent questions also...wasn't a fake talk show interview
Is there anymore...like a part 2...andys stories fascinate me...just imagine the situation..white guy going to ja..in one of the most prolific recording studios ever.... 🎸🎸 In awe of the guy!!!
Hey guys, I am living in New York and played with Andy and the man in super. For someone like him to get the genre so unique it is beyond me. I have a project in studio coming out and this man will be on it for sure. Soon link you Andy.
This guy rubbed shoulders with all the great studio session men of the times (Bo pee, Sky juice, Gladdy, Flabba and the rest) and really has an insider's view of studio forages of that era and beyond. Much Respect to him..!!!
This gentleman is a wealth of knowledge and a great story teller. First time I saw him was his days with the Sagittarius Band backing Yellowman in Santa Cruz in 1989/90. After the show, he was lingering around outside of the front entrance and I was able to approach him and ask a few questions about Soca guitar. Very generous with his time. It wasn't until running into him on Facebook that I learned his name. But I could recognize him in every video that I have seen him in. Cool guy. Very knowledgeable and approachable. Big ups Andy.
Amazing interview man! I’m always dumbfounded that I think I know all there is to know, and then boom! Very interesting interview. 18 minutes seemed like 3. Thank you
I think I saw this dude playing behind Dennis Brown on a London concert. I was thinking " who is this nerdy looking white guy playing reggae music ?" Respect Andy. You wicked mon.
Good for the kids to know today and even the adults who thought it was all spliff and nothing else, a lot goes into music production and the craft in general. Keep doing what you're doing! More Mutabaruka!
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Brooks Legend I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
respect to this white guy, music is life and your experience with the people of Jamaica is real, I never new about you until today but i have to say your contraction is love God bless you 🇬🇧🍵🦾
I knew the man from before but only by reading his credits . Interesting guy , down to earth , and good storyteller ! Saw him play live different times , but never knew it was Andy Bassford . Also worth mentioning is a US guitar player , called Brian Silverman . Played with differentt reggae acts and recorded with them
Yeah...Brian Silverman I've come across the name several times before. Can't remember exactly, but I think he played with Michael Prophet, the Gladiators, Steel Pulse. Not sure, but I'll check it out.
@@lawrencenjawe1935 yes, I met him in Holland before the show he played with. I had seen him playing with the Gladiators in Belgium some time before that. I started talking to him and he was surprised somebody recognized him. Interesting man and good musician!
I've come across this name in many publications but what a shock I'm having right now just watching this interview. You don't need much brainstorming to guess why!!! Ha ha ha ha!!!
