aint no way you delt damage to shukkaku. I clearly remember back then I couldn't deal sht to it and my only damage was from the paper bombs

On your first Battle with him? Yeah definitely you won't deal that much damage but as you progress through it'll be somewhat easier.
In my case on my 4 retry with softening Tag and scroll within the team helps increase your damage by a decent amount
