Love this! I did my short sprint interval run today with my 7yo daughter at the track. She was so excited to join me, and beat me on each sprint ..because I’m a very below average runner 😂 but last year I was so out of shape I couldn’t imagine being able to have fun with my kids while running. I showed her our split times, and now she wants run more too. My 2025 goal is to complete my first marathon, which will be London this April. I’m on my 4th week of training and so happy I’ve been able to incorporate my kids in the process. ❤
What a lovely video Aubrey, 100% right about the priorities, running should compliment real life and make us better people for our families - hope 2025 sees us strike the balance ❤
Let me also just thank you for connecting with me in 2024. Your supper has been great and yeah I fully agree with you, it should be icing on the cakes for most of us!
Very proud of that goal! My friend Kieran from the Run Testers has done the comrades and I hugely respect that, just seems way too hard so I have massive respect for you
Hey there, Aubrey. I just wanted to let you know how much I've appreciated your channel over the last year. Our running history is different, but I love the way you have positioned this channel within the running space, and even though your energetic and encouraging personality has launched you into the running content system, you still put in the time and energy to make videos like this one. My channel is tiny by comparison, and not exclusively about running, but you're consistently inspiring me to keep it real when it comes to running and to keep all my videos aligned with my values. Keep up the good work, and keep loving your family well. All the best to you in 2025!
Running enhances life. Good video. I used to be obsessed with arbitrary mileage to the point, I started to neglect some of my household duties. That's when I knew life first then running. Sometimes we fantasize about being pros but I will never be a pro. I'm not built for it. Hahaha. But we can still love running.
To be honest I never wanted to be a pro, I only recently started running. Just under 2 years so not that long. I’m good with just being able to get out there and have had the privilege of running in some major events and travelling
My running goals for 2025 are building off what I achieved in 2024. 1. Continue to work running in around my family life. That means I get out for my runs, get back, and showered in time to help my wife get out the door for work and get my 2 girls up and ready for school and the sitter. 2. Run 1500+ miles (PR 1300+ in ‘24). 3. Run a sub 42’ 10K (Race or TT). Current PR is 42:41 from February ‘24. My next race is in February where I PR’d this past year and will be my 3rd attempt to break sub 42. 4. Finish Top 5 overall in a small local 10K race that benefits kids with Down syndrome in the local area. 5. Run 6+ Half Marathons (Race or TT). 6. Run a sub 1:35 Half Marathon (Race or TT).
@ I am proud of these times, but setting new goals each year keeps me motivated to push myself to next level. The Half Marathon time goal is one I’ve been aiming to get since setting my 1:35:29 PR back in 2015.
I’m doing my first ever half marathon in October at Oxford half. And the London 10k winter run in February. My aim is to make 2025 my best year ever for running progression. You’re a great inspiration to me. Keep up the great work and videos
@@AubreyRunning this time Just for fun as not trained in a while due to illness and tooth extraction next week will put me back. Oxford half is my big goal this year.
I moved to New Zealand from England in 2006 and feel grateful to call this amazing country my home. In 2025 I’ll be starting my running adventure to explore NZ. There are 10 Great Walks, ranging from 30km to 80km and I’ll be doing them all as day runs over the next 3 years. First up, Abel Tasman at the top of the South Island on Easter Monday. To your theme, will be travelling down with the family and will be incorporating as many as possible with family holidays.
Love this Aubrey! It’s hard to fit everything in when you have a marathon training block. The last thing I want to do is run ‘away’ from my family chasing my running goals! Keep it real bro! 😎 👊
I like the Back to Basics philosophy you've been taking. For 2025, I'd like to get my half marathon below 2 hours but, mostly, I want to stay healthy. I'm over 50 now, so longevity has taken on more significance.
@@AubreyRunningThat's a really nice thought. I'm a bit far from your neighborhood: Los Angeles 😊. I'm just trying to do a solo Half Marathon around my neighborhood every week or so with my 4-legged running companion. I'm trying to progress slowly so I don't get hurt.
Agree with you 100% and we'll be following you as I start my coopah/hybrid training next week or 16 weeks out from LM. I ran earlier in my days, life, work and family happens and now that the kids are older I can get back to more running - even as I am in the "masters" age group😂.
I fucks with this message HEAVY! In 2018 when I did my first and last bodybuilding show, I was so locked in I put everything on the back burner. Even though my family has been nothing but supportive and loving I still felt guilty. That year was my mom’s 50th bday, I took my daughter to Disney world for the first time, anniversaries etc. every event I would bring my own meal prep, counting calories, not enjoying the moments because I wanted to lock in. Even though I placed, the medal wasn’t worth the lost memories. In the bodybuilding world it’s tough because just like anything else, you get what you put in. In order to achieve a certain “look” you have to follow a drastic lifestyle. Family > Everything.

Long ago, I gave up on New Year's Resolutions. Instead, I have adopted a 10% rule - to Be Better in all aspects of life, aim for a 10% improvement. But, to get there, I coined the term 3//21. Three weeks or 21 days to build a meaningful habit is all it takes to get to that 10%. Absolutely, a few other things too before running but being on TH-cam you start to feel like running is everything
Run a sub 3 hr marathon
That’s fast… I’d need an ambulance if I ever did that
Ι disagree 😎
With what my man?
Recently so many people in Korea started to run but They only talk about record and show off 4'00 20km early morning before go to work. It doesn't make sense.
It’s good though that there are so many people taking up the sport!
