    This was an EXCELLENT guide to threading a Janome front loading sewing machine. I am an idiot at this sort of thing and I had no trouble following these very clear directions.

    Best video ever- I bought a very old Janome (Made in Nippon, all metal everything) but I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to thread the machine and the bobbin. I've got it working now. The damn thing still loves to jam up so I need to do some more troubleshooting but at least I'm able to sew with it now.

    • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing
      @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will jam if you dont ensure that your takeup leaver is always as high as it can be before lifting the presser foot each tiem you finish a row of stitching.

    THANK YOU!!!!This video just prevented me from throwing my 22 year-old Janome sewing machine out the window. For years, I thought it was me, I thought it was my sweet Janome! So many curses! Out of sheer complacency, I have been missing that one little click of the thread in the bobbin, and the bit of advice about the presser-foot. Thank you for your clarity and detail! Thank you so much. I had my Janome 1017 packed away for many years, and just decided to get it out for a project. I'm more used to a Singer, and had no idea how to thread the Janome or wind the bobbin. I panicked because the only manuals I could find online were either $$ or for a very different model. My mother solved the problem of the annoying jumping spool many years ago. Mum removed the nib and ink from a felt tip pen and put it on the spool holder. As long as the pen or felt tip is normal size and straight this will work. Make sure to give the pen/ felt tip a good clean after dismantle just in case if there is any ink.

      You can manoeuvre the needle by adjusting the dial from B - C along the jagged line. It will be centrally positioned on A, left aligned on B. • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing
      @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn't really thread through to the front as such, it's up to you to pop the thread into the channel in the case and make sure it hangs forward before putting the case into the hole if that makes sense.

    • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing

      It makes no difference on a vertical spool pin. On a horizontal pin you want the thread coming from underneath

    • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing
      @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure your bobbin is pushed right down on the winder. Hold onto the thread for a little bit before stopping and then cutting it off. Be sure it's securely in the tension disc and go a little slower to start. Combine all of those and you should find it helps x
