Finally, I have a plan. Together with a local museum, I will teach a group of 17 kindergarten children (5 to 6 year olds) to built a cigar box guitar. Everyone of them will (hopefully) have his/her own self-built guitar in May/June (with one building season per month). We plan to make this a project which is repeated annually with kindergarten children in their last year before they go to school. Thank you for your building videos.
I really like the full acoustic sound from this one. I have an Oscar Schmidt concert ukulele and I really like it. For the money it is hard to beat their quality and acoustics. I've been contemplating either buying an 8 string tenor or building one. I'm surprised there is no truss rod due to the extra string tension. Wondering if there is a steel bar imbedded in the neck. If I build one I think I'll reinforce it with a steel bar or a split neck with aluminum center. Thanks for posting this. It has inspired me to get off the fence.
It has a really nice sound. It's somewhere between a ukulele and a mandolin. I know Oscar Schmidt has a reputation for giving a lot of bang for the buck.
Hello Steve I have a 8 string kala ukulele its a great ukulele but I'm having the hardest time tuning it trying to turn all 8 strings on my ukulele tuner is so frustrating anyway cool Steve.
Great sounding Uke, Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'm glad you found the review to be inspirational. The neck reinforcement sounds like a good idea. It might not be needed but it surely won't hurt.

It really is a nice instrument!

Thanks! You may try using a guitar pick to pluck the strings separately as you tune it.
