KickHD, and Akcross(spelled these names wrong) have both made grievances videos in the last 2 weeks talking about the state of Destiny 2. How PvP sort of sucks.
I totally agree with them.
I think they need to make the TTK(time to kill) longer it's the future, why we get killed faster then a Call of Duty game? Currently grenade launcher plus 1 head auto from Hand Cannon can kill a warlock with overshield
Plus hunters going invisible when dodging is stupid imo. Personally won't play PvP because its full of invis Hunters. Also hunters can kill a warlock with throwing daggers💔😐😣
Bungie loves hunters too much.

TTK is too low, and Hunters are overtuned
@@peterjohnstone7867 how are hunters overturned when their abilities reward accuracy? warlock abilities reward positioning, and titan abilities reward game sense. the strongest pvp tools hunters have are golden gun, which is a super so it’s negligible. HOIL titans and plenty of warlock builds are much more consistent in both PVP and PVE
@@peterjohnstone7867 and as for TTK, that’s just not true. the average COD TTK is around .3 seconds, and the only weapon that can match that is tarrabah with ravenous beast procc’d.
Haha, Iriks the Sharpshooter part got me. Classic Bungie. Putting everything on easy mode because a little challenge for some reason is a bad thing
If I went back to D1 I would’ve never expected that sirD would be the funny channel, back when sirD was all serious and pvp sweats which I loved and mr fruit was the funny one, but lots of destiny TH-camrs have really lost it, but somehow sirD not only still has it but he keeps getting better

Things That Will Improve Destiny (prepare its gonna be long):
1. Dedicated Servers and Improved Netcode.
2. Clan Wars - PvP / Gambit between clans, leaderboards, best clans events.
3. Proper In game LFG system, player stats viewer & inventory management system...
4. PvP Competitive leaderboard, tournaments.
5. Real Exotic quest lines, More dungeons, raids, secret missions.
6. bring back lost campaigns with Legendary mode and cosmetic / exotic rewards - Use one of them as a proper introduction to the game.
7. Fix Gambit - Remove Invading, add a competitive ranked leaderboard with Increased Difficulty at higher ranks.
8. Proper vehicle related usage & activities - ship battles, sparrow racing, sparrows with guns?!
9. Public chat in PVP & voice chat for comp / cw
10. Ditch the braindead seasonal fake hoard mode activities and kindergarden level story telling to focus on the above.
11. Remove bounties from vendors, put it permanently as a part of the UI somewhere so you don't need to pick it up every time
12. Give the vendors some of their own quest lines, is that's an opportunity to finally add some dialoge options?
13. Remove light levels, its so tiring and depressing to level up each season just to unlock THE SAME activities + Its confusing as hell to new players...
Solution: reset power to 0 for all guardians, 0-50 easy rank up, 50-80 hard rank ups, 80-99 very hard rank ups. Rank ups are tied to activities completions and NOT random pinnacle drops. once per year reset everyone who is over 80 back to 80, - no more light level confusion and weirdness to everyone involved.
Things that ruin PVP : Invis Hunters, Shield Bashing Titans, Shot through barricades, Instant healing, Overshields, Blinding Effects, Movement Slowing Effects, Grenade Launchers, Sidearm, SMGs, Pulse rifles meta, Slow swapping / ADS, Flinch, ridiculous aim assist on Controllers, Bad maps, The fact that only team shooting is a viable option, Melee teleportation, Lack of Competitive Leaderboards & Tournaments, Insanely Bad Team Balancing & Horrid Connections.
Things that will kill Destiny:
1. Lack of Innovation and creativity
2. Neglecting PVP
3. Reducing skill gap by nerfing anything that requires skill while supplying players with broken abilities, weapons, ridiculous aim assist.
3. Changing the meta every month to pretend that the game is alive and fun instead of actual new missions and proper events that respect player time.
4. the 5248th forgettable & boring "go there fight 3 waves, get stalled, throw a ball somewhere, fight some miniboss that you could melt in 2 sec who has an annoying anti damage shield untill you kill some champion somewhere or dunk another ball.
6. 7000 little balance patches & changes to perks every week.
Innovation could save Destiny? who could've imagine. sadly they prefer hoard mode not hoard mode.

More story stuff, and missions where we are directly interacting and influencing the plot of the game, would be a fantastic breath of fresh air into the game.
I completely agree with your ideal content loop that ends in using your new guns in pvp, I am sitting on like 20 weapons that I want to get at least 200 pvp kills on, and I've played a ton of pvp this season, but I don't feel like I can use these weapons and have fun because I can't do anything with these fun but sub optimal weapons against invis and one shot abilities, I would love abilities to be substantially weakened probably with their cool downs in pvp exclusively
I already know light-fall is gonna be fun but I really hope next week, we can get something that will keep us grind for a next month or two just like season of the haunted did
For $100, if it’s not fun, Bungie is in some serious trouble.
@@b0mberman that’s the deluxe but i understand what your saying because this year was good but the seasons just held this year back a lot. the whole dlc was fun, i liked the whole hard mode stuff but the seasonal content is just not working like it did during beyond light
Very insightful video, the "formula" was summarized perfectly. With storied missions I feel like there should be a "storied difficulty" and then the regular difficulty to those who may want to go through the mission faster.
The Iriks sharpshooter bit for example, what if the storied difficulty made him one shot you, maybe design the space in a large space/gorge. Where you trade shots as you approach slowly, hiding behind cover, until we reach him and finish him off.
Space them out with gated health so you'd move to new spaces in a way that is more breathable. The gated health I feel being appropriate in this situation, so the pacing is adjusted in a way that is enjoyable.

Nice vid as always, so much attention put into details, it must be so much work ! The issue number 1 for me is the global tone of the game. I don't want to play pirates, defend a summer barbecue or play in a Tron-like environnment. I want that feeling of being a space pioneer to be back. I want to feel like the first time I landed on Mars or on the Moon in D1, wondering what mysteries await me on these real and existing planets. I'm curious about Space and the unknown universe in general, and whether you were really conscious of that or not, Destiny really hooked us with that space pioneer feeling before everything else during our first hours of D1.
Fancy! I'm glad he's back and he seems like he's doing good for himself. I wish him nothing but happy days as he gets older. Great video editing as always SirD, shoutout to JaPapa for bringing the funny. I can't say I get tired of pizza but I do get tired of the same brand everyday. Disjunction is a perfect example really, I hate the map but I always enjoy the randomness that happens regardless in a match win or lose. Ever locked and shot Eyes of Tomorrow to the sky at a target. At the receiving end on Disjunction I can tell you it was a beautiful sight and I hated it but fun being bombarded by mortar rockets while I'm in the hilly trenches. I agree with it all your points especially the surprises.
Really appreciate your serious takes in the game. I know you avoid it to not be seen as complaining and critical but you have a really great perspective on this game and I’d love to see you give more feedback like this. I absolutely agree with you. PvP needs more quality and the seasonal model needs to have some sort of variation thrown into it more. I’d love to get more quests in seasons that are more similar to Presage or Hawkmoon. I am really sad we didn’t get secret missions like that this year

I would agree, I love the game. It’s probably my favorite of all time, but all of the criticisms you brought up are fair. Especially the one about no more secret missions. The mystery of destiny is tied to these secrets. There has to be away to thwart dataminers and do something with secret missions/activities.. something!

I've been taking a break from Destiny, but I'd like to see PvP become more balanced with connection differences. The ping is crazy on people from another country.

I would argue the main draw of PvP is what you said about why people keep doing raids after the initial experience and honeymoon phase ends (you play it for the unique experiences you can have; people aren't programs/NPCs). The biggest distinction is that when pvp is in a bad spot or bad sandbox, you can feel it more than when you can feel a bad spot/sandbox/balancing in pve. We are in that bad spot in pvp. Not to mention the majority (I'd say anywhere from 75-90% of the content that comes out in a season goes to PvE, not saying it has to be 60/40 or even 50/50... but more love for us would be nice other than a gamemode that's likely going to have the same issues as the current comp playlist and will probably experience cliff divers the same way freelance Trials does).
i do like this season despite the over ripe format. weapons were fire, kingsfall got me back into raiding, and the story.. had eido in it?

ive made the the decision that im not going to play during the first 6 weeks of every new season excluding the major dlcs. i have had too many occasions where ive looked at the season challenges and said i did that last week now i gotta do it again... id rather do it once and have it done because it genuinely feels like im wasting my time. it suits my preference as well becuase i can actually sit down for a few hours and play the story instead of about 20mins each week...
Those are some really fair takes imo. I appreciate that it wasn't all just a doom spiral like some other people's videos, like for instance calling out that the Sever missions were pretty good. That was only a season ago, just this most recent one felt like a pretty hefty downgrade. And calling out that pvp can help fill content gaps if it's good enough that people want to keep playing.

Sir D, I haven't played D2 PVP for 2 seasons because I absolutely despise it. A friend made me download OW2 and after a couple of weeks of trying to figure it out, I'm addicted! We're supposed to be a team in D2, but no one really looks out for each other. After playing overwatch, I realized for me, that's sorely missing.
I like the new map it's just the way people choose to play the map.

You know, the joke about The Sharpshooter not exactly being a good shot got me thinking of boss design. How sick would it be if as a boss he would instead be positioned in a large room full of platforms and his shot would ricochet around the room, each time before he fires it would show the bullets pathway using the signature red laser that stuff like tripmines have.
And when I say ricochet I mean the room would light up with red lines all over it and then he fires with the bullet traveling the red lines, your goal would be avoiding it, perhaps even make it so the end destination of the bullet is always where a player would be standing, and your goal is to stand infront of an object(maybe a shield generator?) and once all those objects are destroyed the boss becomes vulnerable.

You’re 100% right. For me, if the seasonal story isn’t especially interesting, I only do it to get stuff to use in PvP. But if pvp is bad and the weapons aren’t better or cooler than what I already have, why should I bother. That’s the reason I farmed out all 4 of the Opulent weapons from the Leviathan in the first week or 2 of last season and yet haven’t even finished the seasonal story this time.

Correction, spider sold a bullet of sorrow to that sniper that shot Caydes ghost. He inactively participated in his death by doing what he normally would do, sell stuff to people in the shore. Which is why we forgive him. That would be like us blaming ourselves for the Holocaust because we made guns.

I actually like this season itself, expadition and Ketchcrash aren't nearly as tedious as Nightmare containment, the story was interesting, so were the characters, and Kings Fall is amazing... it was more the stuff around it, like festival of the grind and the non-event that was improving the Elixni quarter, it just didn't have enough content to keep me engaged for three months, and since I personally don't like destiny PvP, I ended up leaving to do other things for a while, the content for the season was good, there just wasn't enough to keep engagemant for a quarter of a year.
Destiny needs a PvP game mode without light and without aim assist, than we can see how good we truly are.
