I remember watching him take a free kick against Algeria national team at the National Stadium in 1993 in a World Cup qualifying match. He lobbed the ball over a 7 man defensive the wall, to the far right angle of the goal post. The Algerian goal keeper was caught flat footed. After the ball sailed into the back of the net, the reaction of the goalkeeper is what I have not forgotten 30 years later. He stood motion less still looking at Okocha as other Nigerian players ran to Okocha to celebrate. It was an Algerian defender who went to retrieve the ball from the back of the net, while the mesmerized Algerian goalie was still looking at Jay Jay in disbelief.
In my PERSONAL OPINION: HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST; PROBABLY, THE BEST DRIBBLER THE WORLD EVER CAME TO KNOW !!!!. ALL HAIL KING J. J. !!!!. I truly missed watching him display those skills. Back then, I only watched soccer because JJ was playing and he was going to entertain the viewers with his skills. Never a dull moment while he was in the field. I don’t know if there will ever be another JJ OKOCHA. Pele and others were there before him. They were good in their respective positions, but JJ was more than a player, he was also an EXCELLENT ENTERTAINER WHEN IT COMES TO DRIBBLING. Someone, please challenge me on this.
@@odinakaigwe1577 Most of us knew the POLITICS behind that shenanigans.. He was still better than each and everyone of those people. He was more than a footballer. He was the ULTIMATE ENTERTAINER IN ANY SOCCER FIELD. Soccer is not just about scoring goals and receiving awards.
He was ahead of his time , and most of his teammates lack the understanding of his progressive play , watch the Highlights again only one or two players understand when he's making those cheeky passes
Wow, what a talent 👏, the best African player who always creates opportunities for goals and has always inspired the younger generation with his mesmerising skills 👏.
When you consider that Okocha's teammates under utilized the numerous chances he created it becomes clear that he not only fooled the opposing teams with his moves, but he also fooled his own teammates! They couldn't keep up.
Am grateful to Jehovah for the previlege of even seeing his clips. This was when football was about reducing SERUM ADRENALINE CONCENTRATION., these days, it's all about business with less entertainment
Okocha + Messi (in their prime) in the same team would have been sheer wickedness to opposing teams and sheer delight to football fans all over the world!
He does have goals but no ballon dor which is not a surprise. He wasn't the most prolific goal scorer but he was as I argue, limited by the position he played and the quality of players he played with later in his career. I watched him play and he created a lot of chances for his mates and did score some himself as a traditional midfielder. Just my observation.
Jay Jay never had a great team that would utilize his talents. I think it was partly because they were scared he was too much of an individual talent, and not a team player. Jay Jay sometimes gets carried away but I think it was deeper than that.
The entire football world is yet to find Okocha's replacement. A living legend❤🔥
Those who got to see Okocha play football should count themselves blessed. What a player!!!!
May God give Nigeria 🇳🇬 another play maker like Austin Jay Jay Okocha. AMEN.
Amen
Na me oo, see how my talent de waste here😂
Amen
Amen and amen.
Okocha need to be given the technical job of our team. Give him much time to train talent's.

Supremely gifted. One in a generation.... Forever in my mind..❤ JJ
I tell you. Okocha is talented
Oh , J..J.
The artist , the entertainer and the legend
Jay Jay master of the Field. O God we need another Jay Jay in Nigeria football

Your assertion is absolutely admitted.Nice one
My unhappiness is that he never won the African Footballer of the Year while obviously lesser players did.

Ronaldinho bro
JJ probably comes 3rd after Neymar
@@De-Enforcer he teach ronaldinho how to drebble ball
Watching this video took me back in time! Okocha always created opportunities, but lacked a reliable goal-scorer to capitalize on them.
Best comment ever
He was ahead of his time , and most of his teammates lack the understanding of his progressive play , watch the Highlights again only one or two players understand when he's making those cheeky passes
Absolutely the African best player of all time
Underrated during his time
He is mot just good in dribbling, but extremely strong and fast.
He was the best when i was still young truly phenomenal
Very strange someone this good did not win Africa best player award.
Because they robbed him due to CAF politics and gave it to a Moroccan
To show you how sentimental the African and European foot ball are
Then no go give him nah na black man abi you don forget how dem dey do
He was close to the win 2 times
He finished 2nd.
19998 Vs Mustapha Hadji
And
2004 Vs Eto'o
It doesn't matter. That is just like certificate that doesn't prove the true knowledge of man
Brilliant upload👍🏽 Jay Jay definitely played for the people and his fans.
We never found such player nowdays❤very confident dribling players! Ronaldinho model❤🎉
ronaldinho learn from him he said it him self
Still the unacknowledged best the world ever had.
It was a blessing to watch such a gifted player. J. J. Okasha was one of the best footballers in history.
If he played in this generation he would have been sought after by top clubs in this era where real talents are scarce
He makes it look so easy.
Jay Jay - the greatest dribbler football has ever produced
That was a legendary player from the Giant of Africa Nigeria.
In Sudan we are more than proud of you gigantic Jay Jay.
Wow, what a talent 👏, the best African player who always creates opportunities for goals and has always inspired the younger generation with his mesmerising skills 👏.
Nice one Jay Jay he's got legendary moves
No footballer in this current set of young professional players have this skill level.
He was immensely skilled. His shortcoming was holding on too much to the ball and making average final decisions.
It was far above average, go and watch his passes in the third quarter and his long range passes. He finds his players very well
@@rabzy595u really know him better

I almost watched each skill twice, doing playbacks; so beautiful to watch 😊
We fell in love with football watching his likes play. Sadly, there aren't many players like him anymore; players are too mechanical these days.
Okocha was a rare talent. I admired his soccer skills.
"Pearl of great price!"
B4..Ronaldinho there was JJ okocha 🎉
He is the best player ever
Okocha with angelic skill & feet. God really gave him the talent & he did not waste it
I can never stop watching his videos
May God give Kenya a player like jj okocha.
Okocha z a MAGICIAN Honestly
2:17 Okocha is just dominating that half of the pitch
No way!! This guy was a Beast.
His Ball control is one in million. People like Him made football very interesting
The boy so good they named him twice "Jay Jay" Okocha. One of the best to ever grace a soccer pitch.
I like how FIFA recognizes him
I think his an icon
Jay Jay Okocha is skillful player. No doubt about this. I love watching him play ❤❤❤
Many people bad mouth him for not wining major league title. Okocha played football for the fun of it not for glories or fame. Naturally skillfully.
I agree with you. He enjoyed himself on the field. He saw playing not just as a profession, but as a game to enjoy and to entertain.
This guy was just enjoying himself
JJO , no matter every award they denied you. I stand here to say that you Jay Jay Okocha has no comparison.
My take too.
Does anyone think we can still have another replacement for Austin Jay Jay okocha?,
That dribble at 6:52 and the trivela😎
Am grateful to Jehovah for the previlege of even seeing his clips. This was when football was about reducing SERUM ADRENALINE CONCENTRATION., these days, it's all about business with less entertainment
Austin Jay Jay Okocha remained my best African footballer for his entire career in the football pitch.
Okocha + Messi (in their prime) in the same team would have been sheer wickedness to opposing teams and sheer delight to football fans all over the world!
I missed the guy's full career. if it was today, still wondering which level of clubs would be rooming and the awards he would have collected
❤️
Okocha is a wonderful player.
Okocha still number one all over Africa
Ghana 🇬🇭 people don't cry 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Okocha pass Maradona, Okocha!!
If he was born in England, d win Ballon d'Or.
Exactly
Incredible Talent of Okocha
Making defenders look stupid but no goals,no balloon dor😅😅😅😅😅😅

He did score goals, most especially long ranges and free kicks
How many Ballon d'Or did Neymar win??
At least he finds joy been a threat to defenders
What a rare gem of football
The greatest dribbler till date
2:47, is that not Roy keane ?
The supreme entertainer
In my opinion, if he were not an African, he could have been more celebrated. What a generational gift!
Okocha is simply a genius 😂, he's not well celebrated but its not too late 😂.
Irreplaceable unique best creative number 10 player.
1:27 was so amazing I shouted!
Likewise. I believe that was his time at PSG where Ronaldinho was his teammate.
3:47. is that not scholes ?
😀
Hail the King J.J.
The GOAT
Jay Jay Okocha, football magician.Skills opoor!
Forever the best dribbler
Simply iconic
Okocha is a football wizard
Infact Okocha was a magic and with all those skills he hardly falls.
Okocha is a skillful and talented
JJ, simply the best
So good they named him twice 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you u tube for making remember JJ okocha
This Eagle was really super 😂😂
There will no be 2 Jay Jay. Never
Did someone say Ronaldinho model? Jay2 'mentored' Ronaldinho 😄. So good they just had to name him twice. He simply made football an art...
Spirit on the field of game
He breaks through any defenders
Okocha le talentueux de toute l Afrique
Those long range passes 😎
His skills in foot ball is amazing
can nigeria ever have another player like jayJay okocha again in decades
OKOCHA was simply in his OWN CLASS !!!!. No comparisons …. He was SO GOOD, they named him twice JAY-JAY !!.
Carry go N’wannam !!!.
These sets of super eagles played with professionally not with pride as we have now.
You can't have him on the field live in the stadium and have the time to eat your pop corn! Especially, if he is playing against your team.
Ever Best! Ever Green Jay Jay
Jay Jay Okocha the Maestro
So good they named him twice
One day God will answer our prayer.
If JJ played today, he would be up there with thr best, NO ONE PLAYS LIKE this these days. Even Neymar
Jay Jay never had a great team that would utilize his talents. I think it was partly because they were scared he was too much of an individual talent, and not a team player. Jay Jay sometimes gets carried away but I think it was deeper than that.
It's the coaches that failed to utilize him. Put him with a good finisher and that's ended soccer game.
We have only one Jay Jay
I love Jay Jay okecha
Okocha!le monde du foot lui doit un ballon d,or ainsi que kanu
This is where Ronaldinho learnt from
