so do you go for the highest search volume? cause those are probably the hardest to rank for? where do you find the sweet spot? i suppose it's better to go for a keyword with lower search volume and thus lower competition? what's your thoughts on that?
You literally read my mind! I teach my coaching clients my sweet spot strategy (that's literally what it's called) and there are a few variables that go into it. But in general, yes, you're looking for high search volume and low competition 👍
Salma Jafri Salma Jafri Salma Jafri is there another free alternative for keyword search. I liked the option of using the keyword search with answer the public. Please advice. Thank you.
Thanks in a million Salma! Very well explained. This is the nth time that I am watching this again. Great content. Awesome. I couldn't find this explanation--simply put anywhere else. “Great teachers are hard to find”. Grade: A++ 💥
Lower # on the competition scale is better. Here is the explanation from the KWeverywhere website: "Competition: The competition is a gauge of the number of advertisers that are running ads on Google adwords for this specific keyword. The number goes from 0 to 1, with lower values signifying less number of advertisers and higher values signifying more advertisers."
Thank you for the good information, this is the first time I've heard of "Answer the Public". That was VERY helpful. I also appreciate your calm, clear, and relaxed way of getting your information across.
Namaste friend Salma, thank you so much for sharing these tools information and will definitely be using it for my next videos. Love your smile, how you explain clearly and make it very simple to understand.Thank you so much and love you.
I use TubeBuddy to find the competition. I just use keywords everywhere to find search volume. Looking up "Salma jafri TubeBuddy tutorial" to see how to find the competition and determine the best keyword to use
I have Questions Everywhere enabled and purchased credits, but when I hover over the green dots, nothing pops for me. (I do see stats at the bottom for the in-line data)
Hi I plan to implement this strategy for my online store. I'm new to SEO, so this tutorial definitely helps. How much can I change a keyword before it messes up SEO for the searchers query?
I understand the volume search but what about the competition, am I correct in searching for high volume and low competition with this tool? New at using this tool and trying to understand it better Jeff
Jeffrey, for the competition number, watch my TubeBuddy Tutorial on this channel (just do a search on TH-cam for it with my name and it should pop up). That will give you a more accurate competition number to look at.
The competition percentages, what would be considered high and low competition percentages? If this question makes sense. For example .2 % VS 1.0 percent
Eireee17 t.The competition percent is mainly for CPC (cost per click) if you want to run ads on that keyword. 1.0 is most competitive. Instead of the CPC figures, I prefer to look at actual competitor volumes when evaluating content topics. For example how many TH-cam videos turn up for that keyword = competition.
Dhara Patil it depends on your niche of course, but I would consider a good keyword to be anywhere over 500 monthly searches with medium competition. I never target single word keywords though, always going for phrases instead, which would be easier to rank for.
Already have done a couple searches with it. Pretty cool! I need to figure out how to effectively use Answer the Public. I've looked at it a couple times and it hasn't clicked yet for me.
@@JewishPeacock don't give up!! This stuff is hard, that's why whoever takes the time to understand it will go far. 90% give up. Be the 10% that stays with it. It'll get easier 😊
Great video, and explained very well! I just started my channel two months ago and have 145 organic subs, but want to be more strategic with my videos in 2019. I have this plug-in but haven't really used it just yet. Thanks for this helpful video!
It seems like a super useful tool. I don't understand where Keywords Everywhere or, indeed, Answer The Public, get their data from? Any ideas Salma or anybody else who is well informed? I'd love to know.
phatrunner.com for Answer the public, their website states that they get it from Google auto suggest queries. You can email the creators of KeywordsEverywhere directly to ask, I think their email is on site.
Since Keyword Everywhere is now a paid tool, if you use it in Answer The Public, will it use 1 credit for each data point it gives you on all the search results?
Jessica Olivia hope you love it and can use it as much as I do! It's become an integral part of my keyword strategy now! Lemme know what you thought after watching :)
It was very helpful Salma. Great tutorial. I saw instant results. I changed a few of my tags, and even made slight changes to my video titles and then went into my realtime and watched the views increase. Some of my "inactive" videos came back to life haha. I knew SEO was really important, but never got around to learning it. Well, here I am. Let the games begin. What a difference. Thank you!
I'm going to have to reintroduce myself to these tools. I've used them in the past and for some reason stopped using them. Probably because I started using TubeBuddy exclusively. Need to get back to these tools.
very useful and helpful, will try them right away. Thanks Salma, you are the best. Please do you have a video editing training?

How do I read the competition so can know if I can rank high?
Thanks in a million sis. I have subscribed & thumbs up.
You're welcome John, I truly appreciate it
Hi Salma one doubt i have is...though u can see Competition in numeric terms but how do i come to know whether its Low, Medium or High
Look at the actual competition results in google/youtube for each phrase.
Hi I plan to implement this strategy for my online store. I'm new to SEO, so this tutorial definitely helps. How much can I change a keyword before it messes up SEO for the searchers query?
I would stick with leaving it be for 48 hours to see some results
Help :) I have done this and installed etc, and validated the key etc. But the volumes do not show at all. I don't know why :(
Keywords everywhere has recently become a paid tool. For a nominal amount (usually $10), you should be able to see the search volume.
I understand the volume search but what about the competition, am I correct in searching for high volume and low competition with this tool?

What should be ideal volume and competition for making videos
Dhara Patil it depends on your niche of course, but I would consider a good keyword to be anywhere over 500 monthly searches with medium competition. I never target single word keywords though, always going for phrases instead, which would be easier to rank for.
Medium competition in this tool would be below 1?
1 is the maximum value, so in this case 0.5 would be the halfway medium point.
Salma Jafri Media thank you :)
OMG! thank you Salma! it is super useful, thank you ❤
Yusra ELSawi Yay glad you found it valuable! 😍
It's not free anymore! I just found this tool this year! Is there another free tool out there? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Why is it important to know how hight the searches are? how does that help me?
Because then you'll know if there's demand for your keyword or not. And demand drives views.
Really a great tool to create content on youtube and to know what people are searching for. Thank you, Salma for the detail video sharing
this tool is better and less complicated than google keyword planner
Agree!!!
Thanks Salma very helpful will check out this tool looks great :)
