awesome build.. I hope the glass doesn't break. They would have to take the wood framing apart just to replace the glass.

Others have also pointed out that glass must be replaceable as it will eventually break. Glass in casework is always installed with removable stops along the lines of glass stops used in wooden sash. I made similar rookie mistakes long ago but didn’t;t film them and provide a forum to point them out out.

To everyone concerned about how to change out broken panes of glass:
I’m 99% certain this is scratch-resistant heavy duty acrylic/plexiglass. I work with glass and acrylic on a daily basis and glass doesn’t have wavy distortion in the reflection unless it was made 100 years ago. Glass also doesn’t flex in a curve when pressure is applied to the framework it’s in, which you can see when he’s first trying out the doors. If it was glass, it would be extremely heavy for him to be flipping over the whole construction on his own- not prohibitively heavy, but pretty dang heavy for that kind of handling. Plexiglass seems more likely than a skilled craftsman totally overlooking the fallibility of glass! :)

Lovely work, I was just surprised that he fitted the glass panes before he glued up, if one of those ever gets broken it will be impossible to replace.
dude... theres a few things in this video i dont understand
im quite sure that the glass you're referring to isn't "normal" glass. I think that he used Plexiglass - The reason im saying this, is because it doesn't look like the "glass" is reflecting light like glass would. Also any sane person would go for plexiglass in this build.

If the glass breaks, how do you replace it?
Easy brother, if you watch the video when he was closing the top of the wood for the window, you can see him drilling and adding wood-stick. So if you broke a glass, what you have to do is to drill inside the wood stick to be able to remove the top of the window. Then you slide out the broken part and change with a new one. After that you need to add a new wooden stick inside the same hole to stich the top framing.
I hope this explanation was clear.

That sounds like a good technique, but I'm not sure if that's what's going on. He does drill into the top of the doors just after the 8 minute mark, but that's to install the hinges. I'm not sure what that style hinge is called, but given its shape, it could be acting like a pin locking the tenon in place.

I wondered the same thing. This is the second video I've seen recently where the last piece of the frame is glued after the glass is installed in a groove.

@@kleeo83 영상 맨마지막 진열장안에 빵(?)을 진열하고 문닫을 때 보면 문높이가 안 맞습니다. 그 상태에서 카메라가 돌면서 외관을 보여주는데 거기서도 문높이가 맞지 않는 게 보이네요. 프레임과 양쪽 문의 간격이 달라서 한쪽문이 많이 떠 있는 보입니다.
아하.. 크로와상 넣을때 말이시군요 보이네요ㅋ 유리가 크고 프레임이 얇아서 단차잡기 쉽지 않아보이네요. 스윙구조 드릴 뚫을때 오차가 약간 있었겠고

It's beautiful work, but impractical for a few reasons. First, if a pane of glass is broken, there is no way to replace it without radical means. Second, from the way it looks, there is no way of removing a door without disassembling the cabinet. Perhaps the bakery will be lucky and no pane of glass will ever break and no door's hardware will ever fail. But in a commercial setting with heavy daily use, you have to prepare for damage and design the cabinet for easy repair.
So true. The piece is beautiful but not practically designed.
wickedmessenger1 the design of the door latches seems like it would lend itself to breaking a glass panel as well. With no cushion, the sound the door makes when it closes makes me think there’s a lot of shock traveling through the panes
I guess that will depend on the glass quality.
You obviously did not watch from around 8:50. He installed the doors after assembling the frame, and also removed a door for adjustment, so obviously the doors can easily be removed. A bakery in Korea also has to be one of the lightest "commercial" use cases one could imagine.

When you cut a board along the grain, why do you use 2 small passes on table saw then finish it off with a bandsaw? Couldn't you just use table saw?
My guess is to prevent possible tear out.

It can be clear acrylic instead of glass.
What attachment on your drill are you using at 8:32?
I think it's a flexible bit holder with a hex shank drill bit.
а если стекло разобьется? поменять не получится
저렇게 나무에 유리를 껴버리면 유리 깨지는 경우 교체는 가능 하나요?? 홈파서 하기보단 몰딩 만들어 껴서 본드 없이 못으로 몰딩 고정 하는게 나중에 교체를 위해서도 좋지 않나요?
