I thought you went pretty easy on Slipknot fans. Ever heard of the Podcast, Slipknot fans are crybabies? Me either but a small part of my butt is hurt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
TOOL really hit hard and hurt for me, but it was true. NIN was same for my wife, and lifted painful memories that she is now talking to her therapist about. 10/10
As a Slipknot fan, I absolutely would may money to be sweat on Corey's forehead. I'm not offended when they're called nu metal tho, I'm actually quite glad they're deemed one of the faces of a whole sub genre, it's a testament to their originality
I only go into Rammstein because of my German class. We were literally quizzed on their lyrics, which admittedly was pretty ballsy of my teacher. We would listen to Sehnsucht in its entirety while working on our assignments. Again, pretty ballsy of our teacher considering the lyric content. But we were an introductory class, so we had no idea what was being said.
I had a whole 2 hour talk last week about Deutschland with my boyfriend, who avoided the song because he feared what every german feared when the song and video were first announced and he did not dare to check. There is so much more to them than sexual lines, if they want. I forced my englisch class to listen to dream theater once, when out teacher had the great idea to learn the language via music. Which is a good idea in general, but damn, did they hate me. I guess this video is not wrong. :D And then, there was this time when we had to present our favorite (german) band with song in music class. Back then I chose die toten hosen, because they have a song about clockwork orange. My teacher made fun about the song, because she never read the book. It was so hard not to come to class with a baseball bat just for fun...
@@catulusinferni8612 Hope you didn't need to use the bat. Or else the Ramones said, "Beat on the brat with a baseball bat". Die Toten Hosen are cool. I'm not a fan, but they got some good songs. "Kein Alkohol ist auch keine Lösung". I prefer the infamous Böhsen Onkelz (the 90s stuff. Hardcore Nazis hate them, but some other right-wing tards luv em' unfortunately). Rammstein's "Mann gegen Mann" is fun. So gay 🥰🥰🙊🏳🌈
@@cardellino5342 Well I think some people might have deserved a good punch. But nah, I wouldn't do that. I got beaten up pretty badly, they even tried to set me ablaze. I don't think I have it in me to give someone that level of fear. I still own a lot of CDs from böhse Onkelz. They gave me a lot when I was young. They were sort of a beacon for my generation and my social class. But, they had created one nazi album when they were around 17. The first CD they ever created, and there was a lot of stupid nazi chanting going on. They later regreted it as a stupid mistake of some dumb, brainwashed kids. But, they became right idols, and never got rid of that image. The CD is still around even till today, because as you said, they are still famous amoung the right-wingers. I still feel one or two of the more adult songs, but I think when I grew out of my angry angsty teen phase and became a parent, I grew out of them, too. And also, I really felt a lot of respect for them to end their career on the highest point like they always said they would do. And they did it, that takes guts. But later, they reunited for money, because the singer was in jail for killing someone under the influence and he needed a quick cashgrab to get back on his feet. Maybe understandable, but I felt it like knive in my back. They had undone all my hard earned respect with that stunt and I stopped caring about them. Here in germany, right winged rock is it's own big scene. I don't like it, but they exist and basically have everything: their own labels, own festivals, own subgenres... böhse Onkelz is like the mainstream band in that scene. We have another famous pretentious right-wing tard band here, maybe you have heard about them, too. They were called Absurd. They killed a fellow student because he knew about their illigal business with black market movie copies and that one of them slept with a teacher. They framed the murder as a satanistic influenced killing and later claimed it was to "clean" the "race". We have a lot of stupid, broken dipshits here, unfortunately...
As a Ghost fan I have to say that we are aware of the background shit. Ghost just got an entire influx of new fans from TikTok though because of MoaC and they're probably not aware. The current lineup of Ghouls and Ghoulettes are known but choose to remain partially anonymous because they want to be.
They definitely have their fun with experimentation! I just remember that record getting SO ragged on at the time from practically every angle. I have a family member that actually introduced me to Korn very very early on in my life, and he was about as big of a fan as you could get. I remember that record coming out and it being the one he refused to collect LOL
the problem with the dubstep era was it ahead of its time and not in the way korn usually is, lots of electronic focused metal sounds like that exact album now
The claim on ozzy not dieing becomes more and more true by the day that man has had alot of near death experiences from vehicle accidents to near fatal drug binges he went through alot and I applaud the father of metal himself my dad saw him live in 1982 a few months after Randy Rhodeses death qnd I am jealous he saw him live and he also saw black sabbath live when Ronnie James dio was lead singer
As a Korn fan i can confirm i am indeed stuck in the 90s and yes i do pretend that 2013 dubstep album didn't happen. I was a metaljead in high school when metal was so unpopular even the metal bands didn't want to play metal anymore! A dark time indeed! Metalcore was the only one that kept it alive at that time
The thing about AC/DC is that they stayed true to their roots while a lot of their contemporaries are no longer around anymore, they survived the deaths of two original members as well.
NIN one is actually scary accurate, when I first got into them I was having daily meltdowns and drawing disturbing stuff about my childhood trauma lmao. Also used alcohol and smoking as a distraction.
I sank into the deepest pit of nihilistic hell you could imagine. The downward spiral was all I would listen to. Then I got bored with that and became an absurdist. Now I listen to Veld and Dark Funeral among many others.
@@riftdancer1349 Haven't even really listened to them since the 90's. Was watching Man on Fire a couple months ago though, and hearing NIN in that movie got me to listen to Downward Spiral and Further Downward spiral again. I actually think Further Downward Spiral is better. The original just doesn't seem to hold up well after being played so much in the 90's.
@@JimmyMon666 You probably heard some trent music in a variety of video games. And I can listen to the broken album. almost anytime. I think the song wish could break me from a coma.
Amon Amarth fan here. You are pretty much right; I like them because of the melodic sound they have, the lore in their lyrics, and the way they cross - reference their songs.
Dude this is rappid fire and extremely accurate. I know 80% of what is listed and you go beyond the mainstream bands many wouldnt even understand. All the bands I like you gave a break rather than tearing apart completely savagely. The Napalm Death piece as well as all the others cause you nailed it, was great because you are right depending on their history. First 2 albums are cream with lee dorian and justin broadrick. This covers basic stuff and many deeper bands. Great fucking video man no1 can fuck with judas priest and acdc and venom you gotta give them more credit.
I'm Metallica. But I love all the noises the rest of 'em make! If Iron Maiden was mentioned I'm guessing it would go somewhere on the lines of 'You like a tale to be told that's about 8 minutes long and you end up learning something at the end of it'
I loved every minute of this. 🤣 Also this is unintentionally a great reference video for people who want to expand the list of metal bands they listen to. I'd never heard of Summoning, but when you basically described my entire personality in your section on it I knew I had to give them a listen!
Part 2 please! Been a metalhead since I was 8 and know probably around 300 bands by now. This was funny af. Keep em coming my dude 🤣 Also, my favorite metal band is Iron Maiden
I’ve been in love with NIN ever since I got into them. They helped me through tough times and have honestly pulled me out of depression. Couldn’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me and many others, but what you said is true as well lol!
My fave was the five finger death punch one because my friends brother who liked them was the f-up child of veteran parents who smoked too much MJ. He also believed in Bigfoot and wouldn’t stop talking about marvel until I screamed at him to leave me alone one time.
I keep trying to convince my friend that ffdp are terrible but he doesn't agree. Luckily he doesn't fall into the stereotypes, he's a pretty good dude other than liking ffdp lol.
As an Anthrax fan, even I have that slight feeling that there was probably a good reason to why this band didn't get as much recognition, but still they had a signature sound that I can appreciate to hell and love their riffs no matter what! Great video, you really didn't pull back any punches lmao!!!
As a motoinless in white fan one of there charms to me is how they combine all those different bands together and add there own little twist to it. Are they completely original no. But I still love them.
I'm a huge Cradle of Filth fan and have been for over half of my life. I was surprised to be roasted right when the video began, but it was an S tier insult, so I'll forgive it, lmao
I actually got a huge laugh and kick out of this video! Would love to hear what you got for my personal favorite - Fear Factory! I'd also like to suggest, MISFITS, Rob Zombie, Ministry, KMFDM, Static-X, Exodus, Sepultura, Soulfly, Testament, The Haunted, The Black Dahlia Murder, Iron Maiden, Ice Nine Kills, Guns n Roses, and also ICP (those people still exist). There ought to be a lot of great material there! Great Roast video man!
Haha, so glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much I really appreciate it! Well, to be fair, Ghost has so many lineup changes because their ghouls are all hired musicians! They're just there for touring, and it's always expected to change. Tobias is really the only one behind the band (though some ghouls do help with production)
Stay tuned for a Part Two coming out in the next week or so, as you all have given me a ton of band suggestions to add in, and I have some unfinished business with quite a few that got cut! My Reaction to the Nine Inch Nails Joke: Dude, I was like this before I was graced by Trent Reznor's voice. If anything, he's the reason I'm still alive.
Meshuggah is one of my favourite bands and i try to branch out to other bands in the genre but they are all a bit too metalcore'y and punk-ish for my liking, i have nothing against that style but its just not my thing, i love how meshuggah is able to balance between being intricate but also have a solid drive and groove to them, no one does it like meshuggah
I can confirm part two has been fully recorded, and will be going up within the next couple of days, covering over 50 more metal bands across all genres, including but not limited to Gojira, Deftones, Iron Maiden, Mudvayne, Erra, Trivium, Pig Destroyer, Wormrot, Blood Incantation, Alice In Chains, Linkin Park, Mayhem, Dying Fetus and many, many more! Stay tuned for that! Thanks for the massive support on this video, really appreciate it! And remember, this is all in good fun!

@@benhall4766 yeah I was always a defender of fttwte. I had it on repeat when it came out for a while. I do get the complaints about it tho, because it lost some of the charm that the previous albums had and veered way more away from the harsh vocals. But personally I'd give it an even 5/10 because I feel like half of the songs I like and half are just meh. Their most recent album is straight up ass tho, only redeeming song to me is when we were young and I haven't even listened to the album more than once.
Agree! As I mentioned in my own comment, I only discovered them through For Those That Wish To Exist. Their latest album may not be their best, but it still has some bangers like Deep Fake or A New Moral Low Ground.
@@benhall4766 Yeah, pretty fucked up what recently happened on a concert. Found this at random and subscribed after watching. I love the quick analysis of all the bands you judged in a short amount of time. Sure, I don’t agree with your take on many of the older metal bands yet it made humorous content. Introduced me to many bands I didn’t know which can break me out of my routine of listening to old stuff. Thanks.
This was both entertaining, upsetting and confusing. Great job! 😅 I don't consider myself as a metal person, though I really like much material from SOAD, Slipknot, RATM, Danzig and bits and pieces of plenty of the others. The most hilarious thing to me is that I'm a Swede (and I'm both into and in the underground scene), which makes my relationship towards metal a little different from non Scandinavians, I think. I was kind of chuckling nervously when...you know which bands...came up. 😁 *So* entertaining! -:)
Sleep token: you haven’t heard a song from them besides the summoning or chokehold and call any of their other songs weird and yet still claim to be a die hard fan
He's right on with those left over, too, Corpse fans with spinal implants from mosh pit damage that are too busy making things at an increasing rate to regret head-banging
Next time you should put Escape The Fate, Bullet for my Valentine and maybe sum powermetal bands like Powerwolf, Beast in Black, Sabaton, Brothers of Metal. Good video ❤
LOL. You came out swingin. That was funny. I've evolved through many metal journeys and spent a lot of time absorbing a good number of those bands, so those jabs landed and made it so much funnier. Well done. \m/
Judas Priest will always be one of the greatest heavy metal bands...just one of the ones with a few very overrated records in their canon and people who aren't willing to dig into their deeper cuts, haha
I'm a Ghost fan and it's definitely true to some fans lol. The controversy and member rotation just make the lore of Ghost funny and more appealing to me. Just my opinion.
I found it to be interesting, well… the only songs I know from the album The path of totality is Narcissistic Cannibal and get up (because of skrillex) Burn the obedient and Illuminati And way too far (my favorite song)
Hey now. As a Lorna Shore fan, I knew they were gonna be popular back when I heard them for the first time in '09. Plus, you can't deny Will Ramos was an ungodly voice.
I used to be a massive massive slipknot fan, and yea I absolutely loved Ct’s vocals. Nowadays I mostly listen to Iowa and self titled, i never cared that they were nu-metal I just always thought they also had influences from other genres
Don't worry, I've always loved Nails but even I can admit they're the entry level for a lot of people that don't like normal grindcore that's more lo-fi LOL
Honestly, I didn't like most of them much, but they confirmed my long standing theory that metal and EDM type stuff could sound great together, so I still appreciate them.
This is by far the best one of this type and you are right, it doesn't work, no matter how much I try to erase those two albums from existence, they always come back
You forgot Exodus and Rigor Mortis. Otherwise you were pretty darn spot on. My top few Metal bands as a 48 year old are in your lineup. Props for mentioning Infant Annihilator. 👍💪 Not everyone knows everything, so check out Pissing Razors while you're at it but Rigor Mortis is my all time favorite after Black Sabbath (all eras including the Tony Martin phase)
It's funny because I've been the biggest Meshuggah fan, and I had no clue why people started calling them "djent" or wtf that even ment lol and I honestly don't listen to any other band in the djent genre. And probably never will. Meshuggah is my number one. So, you hit the nail on the head, well done.
Damn bro, you're gonna have to do a part 2 here. Missed so many of my personal favorites. Would love to see what you have to say about Amaranthe, Disturbed, Sabaton, Beast in Black, Alestorm, Lordi, Parkway Drive, Temperance, and Volbeat
Totally agree. This list really lacks symphonic metal, power metal and other genres that are popular in europe (and a lot of bands that come from non-english speaking countries)
TOOL fans don't go to parties. I know I'm one of them. But i always get invited to parties. Instill refuse to tell anyone I like the band..I don't know like 90% of these bands.
There are 2 types of Volbeat lovers. 1. The type that only listens to their first couple albums and 2. The type that just likes mindlessly listening to the same shit over and over. I happen to be the 2nd. Lmao
As a Tool fan, I feel sad when no one wants to talk to me at a party, but then someone talks to me and I want them to leave me alone

They were almost on their third album when guurar hero came out, i was so surprised to see them there
Guilty! 🙋♀️
That's a hard one. Rammstein's lyrics are somewhat poetical (Til Lindemann ain't Bertold Brecht, but still).
cool teacher lol
I had a whole 2 hour talk last week about Deutschland with my boyfriend, who avoided the song because he feared what every german feared when the song and video were first announced and he did not dare to check.
There is so much more to them than sexual lines, if they want.
I forced my englisch class to listen to dream theater once, when out teacher had the great idea to learn the language via music. Which is a good idea in general, but damn, did they hate me. I guess this video is not wrong. :D
And then, there was this time when we had to present our favorite (german) band with song in music class.
So gay

Personally, I think Korn’s dubstep album was bad ass. That’s what I like about them. They have an album for every mood.
They definitely have their fun with experimentation! I just remember that record getting SO ragged on at the time from practically every angle. I have a family member that actually introduced me to Korn very very early on in my life, and he was about as big of a fan as you could get. Metal has always been alive and thriving in the underground (and even a little above ground). Even metalcore couldn't change that.
The thing about AC/DC is that they stayed true to their roots while a lot of their contemporaries are no longer around anymore, they survived the deaths of two original members as well.

Apart from that I kinda missed In Flames, Avatar and Electric Callboy.
There are 2 types of Volbeat lovers. 1. The type that only listens to their first couple albums and 2. The type that just likes mindlessly listening to the same shit over and over.
I happen to be the 2nd. Lmao
As a person who really enjoys Periphery, it's safe to say that these are accurate
That Pantera one is too true lmfao
