The only Thing you´ve to pay for is like the other ones for Soundsystem, DSG and more. My Dad has 7R Golf and its fast and sticky on the Ground but i think the Clubsport with Semi Slicks ins´t that slower in corners :D
I currently have a stage 2 gti ed30 with 320bhp and had a mk4 anni too before......this mk7 cs is what the standard mk7 gti should have been from day one as it would be better than and r...but only on a track. Since the mk5 the gti has been in no mans land due to the r...just look at the sales figures...you hardly see any mk6 or mk7 gtis here in the uk on road...so styling wise the cs is better than the r...but i think youd buy the r due to greater tunability and the 4wd that will really put the power down....btw...youd have to be on drugs to buy a cupra L over the gti cs if they are the same price...have you seen the interior of the seat....its miles behind....then theres the image!
I'm disappointed they didn't give it any more negative camber in the front. I am constantly having to flip the tires on my GTI due to it having such little camber. It wears the outsides really badly.
No, from what I've seen we don't really need it. We have enough economy car companies. I get that they make a few good driver cars but I am more excited about Alfa Romeo coming to the states than I would be with Renault.

I have a MK7 GTI (stock engine). With only an engine and DSG tune I am now making 278hp @ 4400 rpm and 350 lb-ft torque @ 3200 rpm. United Motorsport made the tune and I now have nearly as much hp and more torque than an R. Do the exterior changes really make enough difference to justify buying this car and the interior is practically the same. You can always install an alcantara steering wheel wrap aftermarket.
@@topdoge2632 well the engine is the same with a bigger turbo. my haldex is pretty good in my opinion. The seats are easy to do aftermarket or just buy the same seats
The Golf R is kinda boring these days, ever since they stopped using the VR6 it's just become an AWD GTI with a 'blender' sounding engine. Besides the VR6 models, 337 and this clubsport, I find it difficult to favor these cars for occasional track use.
No. I'm in Toronto (Can) and I asked the guy at VW if it's comin to North America and he said no. But from what i've heard the Golf R400 will be coming.

It'll be between the gti and r obv. depends where you live i say. I gotta deal with winter so i'd opt for the awd R (R400 is what i'm going to buy actually). I think this clubsport is just a one and done model for the 40th anniversary of the golf brand anyway so it won matter it'll be back to the gti vs R vs R400 eventually which makes more sense to me. 230hp/300hp/400hp
He seems to bounce quite a lot in the seat. Worrying especially because he's on a smooth circuit. I wonder if VW has got the suspension setup too stiff in the pursuit of lap times? If you want a circuit hatch; just go buy one that was meant to be a track hatch from the word go, RenaultSport Megane, etc.
it's the FF version of the Golf R with few bit of aero tweaks and super sticky tires put this aero kit and tires to the golf R, I think it would be more appropriate for the Clubsport name
They don't need to. They're making the golf r400, which will be all that and then some if the reports are indeed true. then there will really be no competition for it. 400hp awd with this aero package or something similar.

I bet it feels special and I would love to drive one, but I can't help but feel that they could've done more. This engine is making 300 hp in other cars and still with plenty of room to go up, they really didn't cut any weight, no brake upgrade.
I don't understand VW. They should have made this have the Cupra's 290 hp engine with Brembos. It would have been much more of a weapon. I got a Cupra a few weeks ago and it's got 280 hp, the same brakes as this, the same differential, 19" wheels as standard and all that for €28,600 which could actually have been €2,000 less. Missed opportunity for VW in my opinion.
Krusty Komedy Klassic It depends in terms of what. In terms of design it's OK, nothing special although I wouldn't say it's lame. I've also speced the full bucket seats which make things much, much nicer. In terms of ergonomics it's excellent (like all German cars although I know it's not German in theory). In terms of quality it's better than I expected. The differences with the Golf for example are quite small and it has leather and alcantara. In terms of environment it's also excellent. White and red lighting, hidden LEDs on the doors, very pleasing.

The reason why I brought this up is that I'm thoroughly tempted by a León SC , as it looks like a properly special hatchback (those front leds...) without costing a fortune, however the interior to me never looked so great, especially when compared to that of a golf highline, which I also own. What's also amazing about the Leon is the standard equipment. It really has everything you need and many more things than a Golf of equal spec. It even has more stuff than an A3. Are you looking at the Cupra? Also, are you sure about the SC version? Obviously that's subjective but the more I was looking at the Leon, the more cohesive it looked as a 5door. Initially I was considering buying the SC as well but then I changed my mind.
Golf GTI PP, remap from preferred company, 300+ bhp, 300+ lbft. VWR springs, intake, cat back, alloys. Still works out cheaper. That or Seat Cupra280 second hand is more car for about £22,000 for a year old one. Only thing you want is the buckets 😊
I'm fining myself saying this quite a bit but for only a little more you could get the new Focus RS. With out driving them I think the RS would be the one id want by a country mile.
Stock Mk.7 GTI already struggles to put down power in first two gears. I assume this eats front tires like crazy. Golf R is the way to go if you want a faster GTI.

The way the 290hp boosting works is that the car gives itself slightly more boost for 10 seconds of WOT and weens it off using the wastegate smoothly enough that it's not very noticeable. The reason they've put a timer on it is that if the turbo produces more boost for a long period of time it'll get hotter, in turn heating the air causing the car to pull timing, lose fuel economy, and potentially (although definitely not in this case) damage the motor. Basically it stops people from just pegging it in high gears for an extended period of time and wearing the engine out faster. Brilliant idea, I can see this being implemented more in the future.

So my GTI has a neuspeed rear sway bar and end links and dropped on VWR springs... It still rolls like a mother fucker. I don't see how this one handles any better.

VW...say it with me 350hp (with good cooling)...4 piston Brimbo's up front...updated tranny to handle the power, suspension for track....its ok to make one of your cars track focus but legal and usable for everyday. Stop making cars with less power than the competition. Your getting killed by Ford and Honda. You make great cars with great interiors...its time to take the thunder away from the competition!!!
I think the only reason they don't is because they don't want to compete with their premium Audi RS brand. It's a shame the RS3 is flawed dynamically as it could have been the hot hatch king.
I'd still own a VW gti, that diesel scandal is with diesel engines only. Petrol is different and if you want to say that VW is bad overall sure. In the past all their cars weren't the best to be done in the USA but in Europe and other places they are great. I have a 2010 Jetta petrol and no problems.
Peter benn pan My guess is they couldn’t have the car permanently over powering their premium R model. But a car that has 290 horses at 10 secs at a time pretty much is more powerful than the golf r at all times. If you’ve got foot flat for more than 10 secs at a time you’re doing crazy speeds anyway
for a first drive it's a bit brave to say this is the best golf in the line up. the 4wd golf r is more tossable than this CS i reckon. no way this can match a s3/golf r

I own the Clubsport - Check my Channel! - The Clubsport is even faster than a Golf R on a track, due to being lighter/more nimbe track focused adjustments . (R is faster on a straight due to 4WD though) I even seen guys go with the normal Clubsport, faster then the World Record they sat at Nurbergring with the Clubsport S.

The clubsport has the same engine as the R, VAQ diff, recaro seats and was available with a manual gearbox. There's not just exterior changes.

this is proper. love it! the R still does not bubble my blood. mainly because, I feel, the R should be VR6 powered.

How's the interior IRL? From official photos it looks slightly lame (for a normal leon at least)

I would definitely pick that over the R. I’d pick that over my old r32 as well. Wish we had it here.

So my GTI has a neuspeed rear sway bar and end links and dropped on VWR springs... It still rolls like a mother fucker. I don't see how this one handles any better.

VW...say it with me 350hp (with good cooling)...4 piston Brimbo's up front...updated tranny to handle the power, suspension for track....its ok to make one of your cars track focus but legal and usable for everyday. Stop making cars with less power than the competition. Your getting killed by Ford and Honda. You make great cars with great interiors...its time to take the thunder away from the competition!!!
I think the only reason they don't is because they don't want to compete with their premium Audi RS brand. It's a shame the RS3 is flawed dynamically as it could have been the hot hatch king.
I'd hold out for a Focus RS.

I'd still own a VW gti, that diesel scandal is with diesel engines only. Petrol is different and if you want to say that VW is bad overall sure. In the past all their cars weren't the best to be done in the USA but in Europe and other places they are great. I have a 2010 Jetta petrol and no problems.

My guess is they couldn’t have the car permanently over powering their premium R model. But a car that has 290 horses at 10 secs at a time pretty much is more powerful than the golf r at all times. If you’ve got foot flat for more than 10 secs at a time you’re doing crazy speeds anyway

vw blatently did this because when the golf r came out no body bought the gti any more, how many golf r are on the road these days. .
for a first drive it's a bit brave to say this is the best golf in the line up. the 4wd golf r is more tossable than this CS i reckon. no way this can match a s3/golf r
I bet it's more fun that 4wd R because it's more playful and the tossability is better on this one too if I had to guess.

I own the Clubsport - Check my Channel! - The Clubsport is even faster than a Golf R on a track, due to being lighter/more nimbe track focused adjustments . (R is faster on a straight due to 4WD though) I even seen guys go with the normal Clubsport, faster then the World Record they sat at Nurbergring with the Clubsport S.
