A friend of mine was at this game, he texted me telling me about it when it happened. I thought he was joking lol. Can't believe it's been 10 years already.
@@DrSocko so yeah youcan get ejected in the audience as well. Any unsportsmanlike conduct at game is subject to removal, be it player, fan, or stadium staff.
No. This is regulation Baseball rule 9. (e) Each umpire has authority at his discretion to eject from the playing field (1) any person whose duties permit his presence on the field, such as ground crew members, ushers, photographers, newsmen, broadcasting crew members, etc., and (2) any spectator or other person not authorized to be on the playing field. I don't see organists or pa announcers on there.
You just said it right there..."etc." Also there are league rules that are separate from the official baseball rules that you do not have access to. People in charge of replay at stadiums that are shown on the scoreboard have rules they must follow or they are liable for ejection as well. Just because the OBR doesn't state the organist specifically doesn't mean the umpire has no authority to eject him if necessary
Umpires - in - Chiefs have no authority to eject anybody that is not on the playing field , with the teams in play at the time of play until finish or called by Umpire. READ the OFFICIAL RULES people ! Dereck Dye was not on the playing field, therefore the Umpire has NO AUTHORITY to call him ejected!Or any spectator in the stands for hecking, cause he has thin skin ego-or should I say a lack of one?

@@thecaynuck4694 it literally says "any spectator or other person not authorized" who do you think falls under the not authorized is thats right an organ player or pa announcer
@@alynwarrington8580 You only quoted the first part. Read the whole rule. It says ON THE PLAYING FIELD. That's why I emphasized it earlier. Is the organist on the playing surface of play? NO! PA announcers and organists are almost always in their booth, which is not considered on the playing field. The playing field is not the same thing as stadium.
Clearly the umpire thought he was being left out - "there are FOUR of us, not three!"

Why is an umpire the only profession in the world where you’re not allowed to be ridiculed for your performance
Anchors: Haha so funny. Organist got ejected lol
Meanwhile the news ticker: Murder-suicide and countless other horribly depressing news.
Was the umpire allowed to eject him? yes
Do I understand why he ejected him? yes
Is it funny? yeah
They actually not allowed to eject him. They can only eject people on the field. It takes security to remove Fans and Staff.
@@DrSocko True, except that the umpire has the authority to order the security folks to remove the offender.

Definitely funny lmao
Phillies organist did this 37 years ago
Interesting he didnt give credit where credit was due🤦🏻♂️

Exactly. Organists are not on the playing field.
Broadcasting crew members
The sports guy gets it.
Rules or not this is funny as fuck
THE UMPS ARE THREE BLIND MICE ALRIGHT!!!
American legend
The guy on the far right reminds me a little of comedian Dennis Miller.
Get rid of that umpire
I don't understand. What's wrong with that song?
“Three blind mice” Is referring to how bad the Umpire is. Basically saying that the Umpire is blind
Playing 3 blind mice during contentious Umpire calls actually goes back to the olden days of baseball, and has never been something Umpires appreciate

The funniest thing I've ever seen.
Who is the ump?
The umpire is such a baby. Anyone who licks his boots is one as well
Organists would routinely play 3 Blind Mice once the Linesman and Referee took the ice.
Umpire has control of the field not the stadium. He can’t throw fans or people in the booth.
I assume he make the box score right
Imagine being this fragile of an umpire. Poor whittle guy had his feelwings huwt. 😂
Apparently the Umpire isn't a fan of the Three Stooges.
Shame he didn’t sue!
Although it wasn't a good idea to play this, The umps YEP, are THREE BLIND MICE at times. That's often what umpires are like.
actually he can
"sound guy"
That was a stupid ejection
Of course it was in florida

Sorry Sir, you're wrong. An umpire can eject whomever he want's, in the ballpark!
The ump has the ultimate authority in a ball park at all times. He can eject anyone. Even the peanut vendor if he wants to.

Have you ever actually READ the official baseball rules yourself? Clearly you have not...
