    Absolutely the best review I've found so far. Because you actually show us what we, the user, are going to see. Most other reviews are entertaining but you're basically watching a person poke a watch and look happy or sad, it's hard to tell what that means as a prospective buyer!

    I just set up and put on my wrist about 5 minutes ago and I can tell you straight up the calorie counter is off by several hundred. It already had me at 1038 calories when I know it would take a about 5 or 6 hours to get that at the rate I was walking. Also I was on my moped quite a bit when I was not walking

    Hi Shelly! I need your honest feedback! From the day you purchased this, did you have any issues of not being able to charge and the screen is just completely blank? My brother got his less than a month and the battery died so he plugged it in to charge and the screen is black and would vibrate in intervals. Looking at fitbit support online and there are issues of not being able to charge and turn it on. They keep saying to restart it which we tried but it would show a fitbit log message 001. There are some also has the same issue. I just got mine yesterday and now I’m scared of going throught this.

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, no that hasn't happened to me. If it did, especially after a month, I'd take it back and ask for a replacement. It could be just a defective product. Wiping it clean and restoring it to factory settings might help, but I don't think I'd take a chance. My Fitbit has worked well from Day 1. Hope that helps!

    You mentioned that you added circuit training to your exercises? How do you feel about the accuracy on calories burned there?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think it’s very accurate. I do 30 minute circuits at home. I’ve compared the data to my other watch and it’s exactly the same. Depending on cardio type etc, it’s tracks 250 to 300 calories each session. I would wear it for a full week before expecting exact results. I feel like the heart rate was more accurate after it got my resting heart rate down.

    I biked 12 miles while wearing my Fit Bit, but it did not track my miles accurately. It said that I traveled .11 miles. I didn't bring my phone with me. Is there a way to calculate miles apart from using my phone and staying connected to it? It kind of defeats the purpose of why I bought it.

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, it uses connected GPS, meaning it needs your phone's GPS to keep track of what you're doing. I always have my phone in my pocket so I never really think of it, but yes that would be annoying if you don't want to take your phone along.

  • @franck2k5
    @franck2k5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I purchased the inspire HR, and my feelings are mixed.
    The only reason that made me prefer the Fitbit is HR measurements.
    But it's not very accurate for me.
    When i workout it will lose tracking for several minutes at once, then come back with an inaccurate reading for some other minutes before showing that makes sense again.
    It's very upsetting and completely ruins the purpose of this bracelet for me

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's strange. Is it sliding on your wrist? I don't think that's ever happened to me, and I've compared my heartrate on multiple devices including this watch, an Apple Series 4, and even a garmin chest strap. They all fall in the same range.
      I agree though, that would definitely ruin the purpose of using this tracker for me too. An accurate heart rate is really important.

    • @zoeys6553
      @zoeys6553 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kharia Mirasol usually you can go into the settings on the app and change the sensitivity I believe. And make sure it’s set to the correct hand and correctly lists which hand is your dominant hand in the app. I hope that helps

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, make sure the app knows which wrist you are wearing it on. How long have you had it? I compared it to my Nokia and I felt like the Fitbit was more accurate. The Nokia always said I had 5000 steps when I knew it should have had more.

    • @khariamirasol3750
      @khariamirasol3750 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you all for the reply. I have it for almost 2weeks now. It was in dominant hand on the app but I wear them on my left hand. I used to use my Lg health on my phone to track my steps then I compare them to my fitbit and it was roughly 2000 steps difference.

    • @Aaron-gi1xg
      @Aaron-gi1xg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@khariamirasol3750 I find that there is a significant difference between how many steps my Fitbit counts and that of my phone. Although I usually have my phone with me all the time, I just find that there's quite a lot of time where I don't have it so only the Fitbit is counting steps so I would expect it to be higher anyway. A phone isn't designed to be primarily a step tracker whereas a Fitbit is so I would trust the Fitbit more.

  • @mrb8810
    @mrb8810 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    these may be dumb questions but..
    do you need to have your phone on you as well to count the steps you take?
    does it need data to be able to track the calories you burn like running etc?
    how does it know when you are exercising like running for example?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, not dumb questions at all. You don't need your phone with you to count steps and you don't need data to track all day calories, etc.
      The device works via Bluetooth and will send your data to your phone when your phone is around, but it doesn't need it there to work. It stores everything inside the fitness band.
      The watch should automatically know when you start an activity and start tracking, but I always choose the exercise I'm doing and tap the screen to get it started. I also end it when I'm done. It stores that exercise in your history, and it will upload that history to your phone when you open the Fitbit app.

    I want it to count my steps at all times and view that info on my phone's fitbit app. Does this mean I have to have the phone Bluetooth on at all times? If yes, this could be a deal breaker in my interest to purchase this fitbit. BT depletes my phone's battery.

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You only need to turn your Bluetooth on to initially connect your Fitbit. After that you can turn it off, only turning it on when you want to sync your data and see it on your app. Some people use all day syncing and leave it on so they can see their updated stats without having to tap 'sync now.' It will still track everything without Bluetooth on.

    how the the heartrate and sleep monitor work? And does it have a light sensor?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I found the heart rate monitor was very accurate. The sleep monitor was also really accurate too. It tracks light sleep, deep sleep, and wake ups. If I woke up tired I would look at the watch and see that I didn't have any deep sleep, so I thought the sleep tracking was great.
      I'm not sure what you mean by light sensor but if you mean does it display in bright light, it does. It's easily readable in sun.

      Tap the screen and then tap the play button to start.
      Tap the pause button to end.
      Tap the arrow in the top right to reset the stopwatch, or press the back button on your tracker to exit.

      It's lilac on the watch strap. The actual watch casing is black.

    Does it track the calories I burn during aquafit class? THANKS!

      It should track your calories burned during aquafit. It just won't track swim laps.

    How about radiation on your wrist?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I looked it up and this is what I found on the Fitbit site: The radiation emitted from all Fitbit devices is minimal. It is safe to use your tracker while pregnant.The Fitbit's power output is extremely low: about 0.5% - 1% of the output power of a cell phone.
      As for our Bluetooth-enabled devices, a good deal of research has been done in the field of Bluetooth radiation dangers to humans, and the general consensus is that the 800MHz to 2 GHz radiation output of a Bluetooth device is negligible.

    Without selecting a specific workout, will it still count calories burned and recognize if you do a workout?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does, but it doesn't always recognize exactly what you're doing. So if you're doing interval training, it might log it another way. It keeps track of the time, intensity, and calorie count on its own.

    How different it is from charge 3?

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main difference is that the Charge 3 has an altimeter to track climbs and stairs.

    How does it know you have drank water

    • @ShellyWutke604
      @ShellyWutke604  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to manually enter the water you drink in the Fitbit app. The watch itself won't track water intake.

    Don’t waste your money on this device. It will register steps if you are sitting at desk typing. It registers movement when you are driving. It’s completely inaccurate even for walking. The Fitbit forums are full of. Complaints and the companies answer is to turn it off when driving or manually edit the amount of steps in the app. It’s a waste of money. Do not buy.
